Ilulissat Icefjord Boat Tour at Midnight in Ilulissat, Greenland - Travel Vlog
Explore Ilulissat Icefjord with me as I sail to Ilulissat Icefjord at midnight to explore Ilulissat icebergs. This Ilulissat Icefjord boat tour starts at 9:30pm and ends at 12:30am. Ilulissat Icefjord is a fjord in western Greenland, located 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. Ilulissat Icefjord was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
The midnight sun lasts between 27 May and 18 July. The sun never sets on the town of Ilulissat during this period. This experience, known as the Midnight Sun, only occurs above the Arctic Circle.
Ilulissat means Icebergs. It has the biggest icebergs you'll see outside Antarctica. Ilulissat Icebergs come from Jakobshavn Glacier known as Ilulissat glacier, which is the world’s fasted glacier and moves up to 40 meters per day. The iceberg that sank the Titanic was probably born in Ilulissat. Ilulissat was founded in 1741. The population is approximately 4530.

Midnight looks more like 8pm. I can't imagine a day with so much sunlight. Midnight sun during summer arctic. Cool boat ride at midnight

Do you have trouble falling asleep because of all the excitement and sunlight? I always have a lot of fun exploring with you. And I appreciate your itinerary, very nice job organizing, planning this trip.

Thank you so much. Falling asleep after a full day of activities is actually easy. As far as the 24-hr sunlight, the window curtains can block it very well and that helps fall asleep.
