Qaqortoq Greenland Walking Tour & Things to Do

A Qaqortoq Greenland Walking Tour reveals a picturesque destination. After cruising through Prince Christian Sound in the southern tip of Greenland, we spent the next day at Qaqortoq. This colorful and quirky seaport has a population of about 3,200 people. And it’s a hub for many industries, such as, fishing, tanning, fur production, tourism and ship maintenance. Enjoy my walking tour.

Thanks for an attractive little tour of Qoqortoq. Being in the far south of Greenland in a similar latitude to Iceland it's much greener in summer than places further north, even some small trees! Quite a pretty town.

The drop off from tender is right outside the Welcome Center in video. Then, the town square and fountain is about a 5-minute walk. However, walking into the hills is obviously longer about 15-20-minute walk to the locations with views. It's a wonderful place for a walking tour.

Enjoyed your video. We will be going there in September 2023. Are there any tours that you can purchase. I know the ship does have any. My husband would not be able to walk very far and it would be nice if someone could drive us around . Also do you know if they take US dollars? Thanks for any info you can share.

There are some taxis but very few. If you can book online ahead of time a driver that would be best. It will be tender to get over there. Currency is Danish Krone, but some vendors take U.S. Dollar. Good Luck and enjoy this amazing port.
