Is this the most beautiful place on Earth? (Cruising iceberg-filled Disko Bay, Greenland)
Is this heaven on Earth? Disko Bay is one of the most stunningly jaw-dropping water bodies on the planet, brimming with towering icebergs, slushy waters, and more blue-hued icy views than you'd ever thought possible in this lifetime. This is without a doubt the top attraction in Greenland, and I was eager to get out on the water to explore Disko Bay and icy waters firsthand.
For my journey, I went with Disko Line Explorer (NOT sponsored!) and paid $105 USD or so for the 2.5 hour sightseeing cruise. I hadn't prepared myself for just how serene and stunning this journey actually is; I had expected a few dozen sedan-sized ice chunks floating in the otherwise flat but serene waters. Instead, we were thrust headfirst into a kingdom of ice as far as the eye can see, with many towering above the ship like skyscrapers - literally hundreds of feet tall.
Disko Bay is an incredible place, and you'd be wise to add this place to your bucket list before the rest of the world discovers that it exists. For now, it's the perfect place to get off the grid and enjoy some of the most beautiful sights you'll ever encounter on planet Earth.

A little correction, it os about 1/8 or 1/9 of the iceberg you can see. And abou the sea with not ice, it was not just few decades ago that disco bay used to ice, bit due to the clobal warming, it rarelly do.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately the algorithm doesn't take kindly to silence in travel vlogs, but might be worth considering putting together a montage of the scenery against soft water sounds. Though, you could always mute the video if it helps! Thanks for your honesty, though. I hope you enjoyed the scenery nonetheless!

I used Disko Bay Explorer for the sightseeing cruise around Disko Bay. They are pricey, but have a decent level of service. It was roughly $100 USD for the 90 minute trip.

Sorry, filming took place in late October 2022, so I’ve long since moved on back to Canada! These videos take a while to produce 😎 Next trip to Greenland will be Nuuk to Qaqortoq sometime in 2024 or 2025 👍
