About the Anne Frank House
The Anne Frank House was established on 3 May 1957 in cooperation with Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s father. We are an independent non-profit organisation that runs a museum in the house where Anne Frank went into hiding and we try to increase awareness of Anne’s life story all over the world, encouraging people to reflect on the dangers of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination, and the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy.

if she and her sister had lived a few more weeks they would have been a survivor but once her sister died she gave up and a few days later after her sister's death she died. however, those who died will be remembered and those who lived are strong brave people. they were all great people. my great grandad fled to England during the holocaust he was caught but escaped unfortunately he lost his brother and sister his sister had fled to another country they found what country and things but a few months after b4 they couldn't locate her location fully he passed away. We don't know what happened to his brother... I don't know if he really did have a brother bc I was told this when I was very young but if he did and he died RIP but if it's fake idk (im part polish while my great grandad was fully polish so they would have killed him bc they killed polish to)

The mere thought of the Holocaust breaks my heart every time. I’ve read about it and researched it for the entirety of last summer and I’ve cried for days it was incomprehensible and it’s something I think about at least once every month ever since. You cannot forget about certain things. Events such as those should never be allowed to be forgotten. We all need to be attentive because things might sneak up on us again. Genocides are still happening in the world. Why are people like that.. I know this comment is all over the place. But I’m not even sure what could be said. It’s still something hard to comprehend. I’m lucky I was born at this point in time and space. I feel that in my very bones.

at 1:35, my heart stopped. I knew what was coming. Even though I've read Anne's diary for years and know her story, these series have made her so much more REAL to me. Notice Anne in that clip, notice her shirt. There are holes in it. In the other productions I've seen, all their clothes are perfectly fine throughout the course of the two years in hiding, and they have also used actors in their early 20s to portray teenagers. Here we have actual teenagers portraying teenagers, and I have to repeat myself: kudos to whoever came up with the idea of turning the Diary into a webseries. This is seriously high quality production and acting. Thank you for making Anne's story all the more relevant today.

Bergen Belsen, where Anne and Margot died was horrifying. There are liberation videos of it, however I recommend caution. They're the most traumatising videos I've ever seen. It's so important that we remember the stories from those who died during the holocaust and those who survived it. We should never forget what humans are capable of and the power of hate and discrimination.

Even though I read the Anne’s diary lots of times, for some reason I was expecting a different ending. I don’t know why. It’s just unbelievable what happened during the Holocaust. How could people treat others like they are nothing? People like Anne, full of hopes and dreams. A really sad ending and yet so true to the reality. I wish it never happened. I wish Anne and her family were able to celebrate the end of the war together, reunite with her friends and live a long and happy life. It’s just not fair. I am glad that Otto survived the war and decided to honor his daughters wishes. He changed my life by doing so. And, in some way, Anne became a writer and touched the world with her story. “I don't want to have lived in vain like most people. I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!” - Anne Frank, April 5th 1944

I met the Diary of Anne Frank, when I was 13, same age she had when starts her writing. Since then, Anne has become a friend to me. Many times, I have understand her feelings and thoughts, as a teenage girl. Today, I’m 18 and I always wondered how would be Anne’s life, after the end of the war, as a normal girl. And how luck I am to have the chance to be free and alive, when I was her age. Her story inspires me everyday to be a better person and I hope this horrible chapter of the human history, never happens again.

Sadly it is happening again... China is trapping Muslims in concetration camps(I am sorry I don't know how to write this)and forcing them to eat pig meat. They are getting tortured, beaten and infortunately the women are getting raped. They are forced to make alcohol drinking competitions. When I knew about this,my first thought was:"What a horrible world." This can't even be possible. But this is happening,RIGHT NOW. Discrimination against religions is the worst thing ever. When Anne's father tried to corrupt the german police with money,my heart broke. They were so close. They survived the worst part and were near to the end. I am really interested about the second world war since I was 11,because I always think that one person could change the world. And I cannot even imagine what Anne and all of the poor people had to go trough. I read TONS of diaries like Anne Frank about people during the second world war and I know it could seem crazy, but i have never read Anne Frank. I have always wanted to read it but because of financial problems I couldn't. But yesterday I found the series and I thought:why not? Well,it was a good choice. Perfect quality, this felt like I would be with her. So sad though.

Being a teenager, and having had the opportunity to read "Anee Frank's Diary" for a school project, every time I read the epilogue of the book my heart sank with sadness, because I came to empathize with her, being for the first time aware of the terror that Anee, like many people, had to face when she was a victim of the “Jewish Holocaust”. As an adult, I can appreciate the book from another perspective, sympathizing with the adults (inhabitants of the "annex" and benefactors) and how they deal with fear and uncertainty trying not to scare the children in the group (Margot, Peter and Anee), without thereby distorting the thoughts of young Anee. After concluding the viewing of this miniseries, with an emotional heart, I want to congratulate you for the work you have done and the care you have taken to "update" the story; Seeing the situations of daily life within the "annex" by its inhabitants makes them feel closer to the viewing public, increasing the regret for the outcome that is known worldwide... An affectionate greeting from Bolivia...

Its horrific that there are still racists all over the world. For me, this place was the saddest place I've ever been to. Anne Frank's Tombstone is standing in the middle of a wide green area. It's standing between hundreds of tombstones. These are just the people whose names they found out. Under the tombstones is emptyness. The victims of the Nazis were buried into mass Graves. Hundreds of people into one hole. It's cruel. I hope someday racism and inequality is not present anymore.

as a jew, watching this makes me utterly sad... i can't put into words how hard it is to watch this. i live in germany and just walking through these streets makes me want to cry; almost everywhere are stumbling blocks in the ground [names of jews who owned a store are written down on them + how and when they died], everywhere are those old houses still from back then, we have so so many memorials... i feel lonely and catch myself imagining how things would be nowadays if none of those events had happened back then. every time i imagine what those streets would look like, if such a huge amount of jews didn't die back then, all i can do is picture it all in black and white as i know that none of this will ever become a part of the present, but instead stay a part of the past. i'm heartbroken.

How dreadful is it to be separated with your family and your closest people, not knowing what will happen to them 😭.

I could clearly see the fear on Anne's face as she heard the Gestapo. That is some amazing acting. This episode always breaks my heart, because Anne was so happy and they were all full of hope, and then it all ended. And I can't even begin to imagine how they must have felt at that moment. If only they had all survived, we would understand more about how they truly felt. I remember reading Anne's diary, and seeing it end so abruptly, and just dying to know her true thoughts and feelings on what happened next. Instead, it just explained it all, but not from her perspective. This series is a real eye opener, and I love it! We need to keep Anne's memory alive, and not just her, but the many many others who suffered similarly to her. She always wished to make a difference, and now she has.

I was able to visit the Annex while on holiday in Amsterdam with my family. It was surreal. I was taught about the Holocaust and what happened to Anne and millions of others, but to see the place where she was hid was something I will never forget. While I was educated further about what happened, I don’t think I can go back. It’s so heartbreaking. RIP to every person who perished.

My heart just hurts all over again. This is just one story, one story of millions. It hurts knowing so many went through this, but I think it is good to be reminded of the horrors that took place in new ways, such as these videos. When reading her diary, it just ends. But the story doesn’t really end there and I think some people can forget that it was more than just a story. Making it seem realer like this, it hits harder.

I read her diary so many times growing up, the first time I did I was her age when everything started so I made a point of reading again when I turned 14 and so I did because even though she was a girl in hiding during war times having the same age wasn't the only thing we had in common and that's what really hit me you know? She was just a girl, like me, and she went through hell, then she went through stuff even worse at the camp until she finally died of an awful decease at such an young age. She didn't have enough time to figure things out, to see the world, to fix her relationship with her family. She didn't have enough time to live. When I finished her last diary entry and the next page said that was it, it hit me so hard like "we're the same age and that's it?? i'm gonna close this book and go live my life but for her that was it???" rest in peace anne, you and so many other deserved more.

For my English class I had a choice about what book I wanted to read and discuss with the class for an assignment. I made a presentation about Anne's diary and by far it's the most emotional thing I ever researched. Anne was a bright girl, and we had a lot in common. This series was a great way to educate others of her story, and the fact that everybody made sure to make everything historically accurate made me so glad. You guys did a marvelous job on the series - I congratulate everybody who worked on set for this heartbreaking yet heartwarming series! Love from Australia 🇦🇺❤
