Aaah your excitement is just so infectious! As a fellow judge, I know how fun it is to dig into your mini-batch to hopefully find some hidden gems! Really nice to see such a wide variety of books, hope the branching out will pay off well for you. And as someone who reads a decent amount of cozy, I think you are not unreasonable in asking for more depth and development. Some of my favourite cozies have some of the most complex characters and relationships, as well as super solid world building and immersive settings! Anyway, happy reading! 🥰
