Dirty Football Business: When Humans Become Commodities | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch 'Soccer Slavery: The African Football Slaves of the 21st Century' here: • Soccer Slavery: The Af...
The ‘beautiful game’ has turned ugly. Scandal after scandal has rocked the multi-billion euro football industry. FIFA’s awarding of the 2018 and 2022 world cups to Russia and Qatar remains mired in controversy. In this investigation, we examine the conflicting interests of FIFA and the sometimes criminal actions of footballers’ agents. Many of them, like Jean-Pierre Bernes, have been convicted of corruption but continue to dominate the sport. We also look at the way boys like 12 year old Madin - who already has an agent and sponsor - are turned into commodities to be packaged and traded.

What does any of this have to do with the world-cup? were was all this values with Brazil and South Africa??? factually the previous organisers were far from exemplary. This is just hypocrisy and lots of jealousy. I'm not a fan of this game where human run after a ball in a green field. Also not fan of the most crooked, lying and corrupt civilisation that is the west.

I 100% agree. Even University level sports (D1) in the USA are a cancer, as it feels like they "own" you if you're on a scholarship and there are many rules to follow, some make no sense at all. I realized this as a D1 volleyball player in the USA and quit the team after my sophomore year. That was one of the best choices I made at that point in life, as I was so lost and didn't even know myself or what I enjoyed because so much of my time was forced to be spent playing a sport when I didn't have any chance to continue playing after Uni.

The greatest loser in this new kind of hidden slavery, is the continued down-grading of football itself. It have become an individualized sport, changing the entire structure of the sport. When the format was 3-2-5, an attack was with 8 players and they all touched the ball with "diagonal" passes, always according to strategy. When long balls came in play and cornering for "the cross" a general practice, the "Quality" of a player vanished. The "talent hunters" have made the sport "A Clowns Show", the ruination of a sport.
