Good video DT ! I got the chance to ride a Scrambler when they reintroduced them, and man the power and smoothness of the suspension was unreal, I can only imagine how the new ones must be. But lack of Racks and questionable reliability would always keep me from owning one. Great segment on the Wolverine X4, I drove an X2 the other day and I found the motor to be a bit boring also, and this guy had a clutch kit done to increase the top end without losing low end (let the belt ride up on the drive clutch higher than normal) and it made a nice difference but still not all that exciting, I'd say my brother Teryx feels much more powerful. But like you said the ride was amazing, motor was crazy quiet and smooth, it was very good in tight trails too. Thanks for all the good videos !

Good stuff. The new Scrambler 1000 S is definitely a beast. I still think it would have been great if Polaris would have released a Scrambler 1000 with a 50" width though, then had the "S" as another model option. For many riders, this limits them to getting the 850 as they don't want to miss out on narrow 50" trails in many States. Both are great options though. Either way, it is cool to see Polaris trying something different.

I agree. The 850 not having a power steering option and being only 60lbs lighter than a sp 850 sportsman with that option and tons of cargo capacity. Why would someone pay 3 grand more for only looks? Looks that simply come from an outdated, cut up body styling??

The worst part about this other than the cost is the width. In MN, some of the nest trails only allow 50” machines.

I have had 13 Polaris products including a Scrambler 850 and Scrambler 1000. The Scramblers have the best seat of any ATV ever built. I would put paddles on my Scramblers and take it to Glamis sand dunes. Power steering. awesome suspension and that seat, it was like riding a lounge chair around the dunes. But, the scrambler weighs 800+ so if you wipe out it's going to hurt.

I really wish it had a true 5 or 6 speed with a low range in it. Yeah it may weigh a bit more with that, but it will be 1000x stronger, easier to upgrade, and you can dump the clutch in 4wd

That X4 layout is terrible when working the machine in any type of off camber situation, occupants in that backseat set the CG so high that the thing always feels like it's one small rock from a rollover. The machine is ugly, and that's being polite, way down on power, no storage and mid grade suspension at best. Tell us again, why would anyone spend money on this? I honestly don't think I have ever seen one on a trail...(oh yeah, I remember the big stink Yamaha got into regarding door safety a few years back, hence the need for the billboards screwed to the sides of the seats, I would surely hope, just like nets in a RZR, those could be taken out and left with the dealer upon delivery...) Yamaha as usual, late to the game, and when they arrive, nothing to write home about...Hell, Honda is even doing a better job than them these days.

Polaris needs to make a couple of ATVs and make them reliable none of there stuff is reliable cause they always make some new every year in the last 20 years Honda and Yamaha has had like 5 different engines for different ATVs while Polaris has made like 30 different engines in the last 20 years.. in the 90s Honda and Yamaha were using CV axles for there front 4x4s while Polaris was using ujoints for the front axle shaft people still drive 15 year old Yamahas and Hondas while 10 years is the limit for Polaris and can am.. I flip ATVs as a side hobby and I would never flip a can am or Polaris don't want the customers coming back 4 months later that there ATV broke that's why I only flip Yamaha or honda

Stupid IMO, who wants a wider atv? The majority of people buying something wider are going to go with a side by side. I mean really, why buy an ATV if you can't even take it on 50-inch trails? In my opinion they just ruined the scrambler. You can no longer get the 1000 Scrambler unless you get this wider 55 in ATV.

I also thought it was a slap in the face to the riders who have been scrambler fans since the 400/500 days. THEN I rode one on the rutted out trails that the sxs have dug out making added obstacles and places almost impassable and having to take the easier bypasses on my ole faithful 500. I made some bad comments about Polaris abandoning the very sport 4x4 class they had created. THEN... I got on one for a few minutes. That few minutes turned into all day. By the next weekend, I had my own. Now I feel like I owe Polaris an apology. Massive ruts and dugout trails I once considered ruined? Now it's my playground! This thing gobbles'um up for breakfast. Every weekend I am more and more amazed at capabilites of the suspension & long travel & ground clearance. It's a whole new ball game.
