In each bi-monthly episode of DiResta (every other Wednesday at 2pm PST), artist and master builder Jimmy DiResta (Dirty Money, Hammered, Against the Grain, Trash for Cash) lets us into his workshop, to look over his shoulder while he builds whatever strikes his fancy. On this episode of DiResta, Jimmy builds a hemlock tabletop from a cast iron table base he found in the trash.

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzread.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. kzread.infoUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
what a legend, to just weld in a bit when the metal strip was too short. most would have gone out to the shop for another strip. pleasure to watch jimmy, cheers

+Stuart McCloud actually most of us would have done the math. Circumference = diameter(across table + 2times the thickness of trim matrial) * pi
I love Jimmy's wood working approach. So many shortcuts to achieve brilliant results. So refreshing to see someone who's not spending an entire video, hand planing a few bits of wood for a simple glue joint. Bloody brilliant! So glad to have discovered this guy!

Super smart idea with the circle saw! Very cool to watch.
At first I thought boring, but then I realized how interesting it is to watch someone use tools in fast motion.
It is amazing how soothing I find the high-speed sounds in these videos. Jimmy, you're an amazing craftsman.

sir your awsome and i love the work you do.to make beauitiful things it just blows my mind on how much you put in to it and how awsome it turns out.
Solid work man! Looks great!
Great table! Even better to paint both sides to prevent wood from getting hollow by tension. Also switch grain direction when laminating.
it's worth watching until the end - always a good thing comes out - congtratulatios from Brazil
I love how he puts his name on everything
OUTSTANDING!!!
Pretty soon every piece of furniture in his house will be replaced! Amazing as always!!
Wow, it's beautiful! Great Job!
Nice idea on the circular saw circle jig!
Nicely done. I dig that knife.
I've assembled sheds in time past yet this plan outlines are excellent woodplans.works This woodwork plan is second to none. I've never seen such. The sheds are looking extremely pleasant and the building arrangement guidelines are so gritty and exceptionally all around arranged. This is cool!
I still remember that compass divider when i use it in class.
Absolutely incredible!! I don't think theres anything he couldn't build!!
Yes I love these videos!
Genial... como nunca pensei nisso antes? Simplesmente sensacional... parabéns.
Came out great
I never knew how awesome a shop sounded in high speed.
Jimmy, your setup to cut round, my framer built a shoe to hold the worm drive skill saw, then the sled is attached to long 2x4 depending on the radius of the plates needed to frame the wall....nice build of the table!
Really good table!
I love the noises in your viedeos.... 😁

hey diresta great project! greetings from brazil!
Wow this man is fast!
Good job bro, you got the talent, skills and resources to pull out something really cool like this table... 2 Thumbs up!
Actually it can be used either way, in fact the way you have described has been proven to cause the material to kick back more often
Outstanding work.....
He performed the circ cut as safe as possible. biscuits ad minimal strength... they just help align the boards during glue up. i'm assuming, the flat bar was at a length he had or was able to get
great looking table! though i could imagine myself busting my knees on that metal lip..
He has his own channel with a bunch of these.
superb!
Very nice job. عمل جيد واتقان وادوات نافعة
I love your videos man i had been watching your videos sience 2010
awesome work
no, in wooden barrels the heat is used to bend the wood, not enlarge the metal. but what you explained is exactly how they make steel rimmed wooden oxcart wheels, or carriage wheels
Arthur would have been very pleased with this
Gold!
Awesome nice job
Good work, very impressed
Your videos are great
영상 잘보고 갑니다!!!!
