DiResta: Pirate Chest

Real all about it on MAKE: makezine.com/vi...
In this episode, Jimmy fulfills a childhood dream of having his own pirate chest to store his booty--OK, make that pocket change, but it's still a very cool box.
In each episode of DiResta (every other Wednesday), artist and master builder Jimmy DiResta (Dirty Money, Hammered, Against the Grain, Trash for Cash) lets us into his workshop, to look over his shoulder while he builds whatever strikes his fancy.

I really enjoy your videos....I seriously have watched everyone of them. I don't understand the need to make any negative comments. It has dawned on me that so many people that comment negatively are "know it all's". For those of you who do not have anything good to say weren't you ever taught...."If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all". Jimmy Diresta doesn't need your negative or positive comments to be successful. Mr. Diresta's work speaks for itself. The dude has skills, whether its the way you would do it or not. GREAT WORK!!!!!!

I hear you, it's like getting a badass Christmas present every time you see a 1 next to his name. He plays it smart with the uploads. Many popular channels saturate their feed with a video every day or two. I've had plenty of channels that I thought were awesome at first, but the content is always the same and I just get sick of it after 30 days and 50 videos.. Not Mr. Diresta, it's going on two years and I still get a lap rocket every time I see a new post. I want to be as cool as Diresta someday. Diresta, we salute you.

I gotta say, Mr. DiResta, whenever I watch your videos all the crap that I've been feeling that day, no matter how bad the day was, I feel better. I feel alive and liberated. I don't know why, but there is something about watching a craftsman perform his art really really well (in this case, yourself), that makes one think "he can be good, I can be good". And then I don't feel so bad. So thanks for the vids, good sir.

Another very cool project ! thanks for sharing .. I love how you recycle things and make new stuff using it like you did with the pallet wood.

I love you videos mate. Watching a craftsman at work is both informative and aspirational. I build at 1/72 scale but I've picked up a lot of tips on building from your videos. Thanks for sharing :-)

Sometime I see you do stuff with tools that could be done better and more easily with different tools, but I don't understand the circumstances in your tool choice so I don't judge. These videos are always fun to watch.

i made parade floats for a living for many years and i had to make alot of items like this in my days i had 4 pirate ships in the fleet and i have to say you did a good job for the speed and timing adding some cut off bolts could help fire/burn some of the wood things to make it look old

Epic as usual, great use for pallet wood too. Don't see how anyone can thumbs down, but there are all kinds out there. Sure beats a 5 gallon water container for all your loose change.

Kudos to you Jimmy, everytime I watch one of your videos it amazes me both on the content and how funny they are for a guy that doesn't talk on his videos. Keep them coming and I'll continue to like and share.
