Wow! I’ve always loved your builds, but as one of the “lock nerds” mentioned in the description, this one is definitely my favorite... A scaled up version of the traditional (and still produced today) “Old English” design, right down to the lever mechanism. EXCELLENT job! I know it was never your intention to build a high security lock, but if you’d like, I can show you how to remake the brass levers in such a way that would give an experienced picker pause. 👍

Mr. Diresta, my 94 year old Father used to have a saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" You Sir, have proven that saying is not always true. Near as I can tell you are master of every thing you attempt. I restore old firearms, it is a labor of love on my part, and I can tell that you very much enjoy the things you do as well. Thank you for many hours of informative and enjoyable videos.

This is like old school Diresta. Back in the 50k sub days.

I've started following you and being inspired by your work since the very beginning. I've loved almost all of your videos especially the ones in which you were creating things.. Hi Jimmy, I've been watching your videos for months now, and learnt alot of helpful tips. This video was amazing, i think it is my favorite one, amazing talent you have.
That’s awesome. I watched the video Saturday morning, and Saturday evening my wife was watching “The Saint”, from ‘97 which neither of us had seen. Watch the first 5-10 minutes.
This is one of the best videos you've put our in a while. I love the new tech that you've acquired recently but this was a good throw back to your "get it done" style. This would be a really awesome lock to put on the the Maker Mecca. (aside from the obvious security issue of the lock....)

You continue to amaze me with the things you can build. That lock is incredible!!!!!!!
Wonderful !!! I was not expecting to see fully functional levers being made . Amazing making a complete working lever lock in less than 12 minutes.
I have been watching you on and off for many years .That was brilliant I never thought you were actually going to make the internals for this lock I am impressed bravo sir from an Englishman in Provence .
Jimmy, это по-настоящему превосходная работа! Это восхищает и завораживает во время просмотра! Нет слов, чтобы передать свои эмоции. Спасибо за подаренное удовольствие во время просмотра!
Im pretty sure if you created the first true perpetual motion machine, there'd be some subset of nerd telling you how you should have done it. Nice one Jimmy. I really enjoyed watching this.
Jimmy, Great trick with the bending forks in the vise. I’ve never seen an variable size version like that. So simple and clever. I will definitely be making a set. Thanks again for sharing such mind blowing techniques.
Only Diresta would make a padlock from scratch, you are truly an amazing high achiever.

Next up on the channel.......the Chastity Belt to go with the lock!! Awesome build! Excellent video!
About 15 years ago I was driving back from Tallahassee, FL (to Ohio) and we stopped off at a random exit on the interstate. Lo and behold we were right near the original KFC! What do you do if you're dead tired on a road trip and find yourself at the birthplace of modern fried chicken? You GO, obviously! So my traveling companion, my sister, a cat named Michael Jordan and I took the tour. You got to see it all, all of the Colonels memorabilia from the OG KFC, advertising, dioramas, etc. And right there, smack in the middle of the diorama, was a large chest locked with a lock .just.like.this. Rumor states that it hold the skeleton, and presumably some feathers, of the first chicken ever fried by Colonel Sanders. His name (the chicken) was Mr. Piffles. And now you know....the rest of the story.
Next project, castle with a dungeon for this lock.

Very very very compliments. You are the best on the globe!!! Thank you Jimmy
Cool what you can do from drawing a teddy-bear shape. 😎🐻
Was the Mickey Mouse resemblance intended? Lolz. Thanks for sharing. Felt younger for a moment remembering your old locker videos :) good old style. Precious.
Bravo! Fabulous Titanic lock, as though made to secure a giants chain, lovely craft & mix of 21st century welder, plasma cutter, age hold fire, steel & muscle & with the drama of the linisher sucking the job in, has happened to me making me very respectful of the small gap betwixt table & abrasive. Thanks for sharing!
I'm a locksmith, I have to say. You made a very nice lock. I have been wanting to make a lock out of wood, just something as a conversation piece. Very nice.
Oh Jimmy... You've done gone and awoken the lock demographic... And you thought the axe guys were bad!
Before you lose it, take that key to Ace Hardware and have a duplicate made.
This was a fun one. Thanks Jimmy!

You probably wont ever see this, but I've never rang the bell on any channel. I watched your videos since I was like 15 (so 13 years ago) everyday after school on my psp I'd watch for hours then work on something my self. Would even go dumpster diving and find old tools and restore them. I was diagnosed with a form of Terette's called a Dystonic tick that controls the entire left side of my body muscles to spasm and sort of clinch from my toes to my eyelid so I had to quit doing sports. Even using a lot of machinery unsupervised isn't too safe but I still did/do it. Haven't seen/even forgot about your channel for years until about 5 hours ago I found you on Facebook I've been watching non stop the entire time even while doing dishes. You're a huge inspiration. Today I just subscribed and rang that bell. This has been a blast from the past thank you. Your videos give knowledge and also show the safety needed to survive. Thank you!
