That's perfect, such a good company! We love kwik trip! They are so good to non profit organizations, they give 5% to my favorite cause, and sometimes 10%, completion is what it's all about, glad they're giving the other companys a run for their money.
Except everything is in minutes not miles

We never would say "go a quarter mile that way"..... We'd say "go 2 minutes that way". All distance is measured in time.... Nothing is 20 miles away.... It's 20 minutes away. Lol.

Always make sure to have one more church than bar, Midwest rule.
First time going to my Dads new place in Wisconsin he told me to turn where the gas station used to be....in the 60s...and shamefully admit I found it without a problem.
Turn left at the quarry, then right onto the swamp road. Turn left at the egg lady's house. If you hit the railroad tracks, you've gone too far.

I had a lady give me directions over the phone on how to get to her house from Waukesha to Racine. “Take 94 south but don’t get on Bluemound rd then down to exit 317 in oak creek and get off on exit 322 and go left on highway 20... you know washington ave” I didn’t have the heart to tell her that not only do I know Racine but I also had a GPS.

I love how ppl say "I'm from Wisconsin and we dont talk like that" lol yous guys gotta go to the rual areas and north of the valley to hear it. I live in weyauwega and grew up in manawa, 50 minutes west of green bay. And my accent comes out thickernshit the more north I go!

Oh, so that's how you do it in Wisconsin? Here in Pittsburgh, you get directions based on stuff that USED TO be there: "Now, keep going straight, till yuns get to the old Isley's. Turn left. Once you get to the old Pizza Hut, turn left, past the old church that's now a brewpub. And you're there." Don't go to the old Iron City brewery, or you've gone too far."
When i first traveled out of the state, there were so few bars it felt like a twighlight zone episode

Fun Fact: There's a Street on a hill in Manitowoc (where I'm from) that has 5 churches and a former Synagogue that was called Holy Hill among the locals

I live in Glendale and like driving through all the time. It’s super relaxing. I did come around a corner too fast one time and almost ran over 2 priests... if they hadn’t seen god before, they def did in that moment 😭 I felt so bad I gave them the apples I bought from that little stand and went back for more

Very accurate. Just plan on getting lost again. My favorite is when GPS says you are here and it’s the middle of the woods!
I never realized I sounded this way to people till I left Wisconsin. Pretty dang accurate

How am I gonna drive past 8 bars and not stop in for an eye opener right quick once?
Our directions were once look for the squirrel attached to the mailbox and turn right it was sadly removed that same day and our visitors were lost we fought and defended the truth until we backtracked and saw the 4 nails sticking out where it was for 8 years🤦♂️
I moved to Colorado and OMFG do I miss Kwik Trip! No other gas station or convenience store can even come close.

@@MYR5266 I've only been to one QT and it was run down. The staff wasn't friendly either. I'll admit it was in St. Louis and that's probably not the city to judge all others by. The plus of the WI Kwik Trip is that the owners run a dairy farm too and it's the best cheap, mass market dairy I've ever had. Their bakery is pretty good too.

My sister once gave me directions to her new house in LaCross. Everything was going great until we hit the part about taking a right at the KwikTrip. Cripes there was a choice of 4 possible KwikTrips, who all were a right hand corner. She had to talk me down for a bit, ope.

We use to joke about this back in the day but yet we still would describe it just like the video!!! Usually we would say things like, "turn left at the Peterson's house" and stuff like dat! Great vid der guy!
I was raised in the south by Wisconsinites and said "stop and go light" until I was 23 years old because my workmates (commercial real estate) got confused by that term.
I remember back in the early 1980s when the only Kwik Trips were located in and around La Crosse. They didn't even have hot dogs back then.

I once got directions in rural Indiana to go about two minutes on the road, make a right at the church, and then go straight for 7 minutes or so and the house is across from the lake.

I enjoyed the accents and the fact that getting (or giving) directions is usually about as clear as mud.
Was given directions years ago In a rural area "when you hit the dip in the road" make a right turn,was that the dip or a pothole.Also gave directions to my place,there is a red barn at the end of the driveway my family told me all the barns are painted red.
We don’t say “fib” here in Missouri. I’ll see what I can do about changing that.

Is this a northern WI accent you're mocking? I'm 20 minutes (yes distance by minutes, not miles) from the IL border and no one speaks with this dialect. It's more of a "how-now-brown-cow" thing we've got going on here. Cruel as it is, the fib line was accurate.

I live in WI about 90 minutes north of Illinois, and they do talk like this. It’s a very strong accent up here, and I’m not that far into the state.

I don't like getting directions in minutes because I have no idea if that's in going the speed limit or periodically speeding because someone passed me and I don't know where the speed traps are.

Same here. I've only heard slightly from old neighbor of mine living in SE Wisconsin. Hell, I didn't even hear the famous Minnesota accent while going to college just passed the Mississippi. I was quite sad to not hear the "Fargo accent". Seems like SE Minnesota people sound the same to SE Wisconsin. Then again: I was born and raised IL until I was 13 so I kind of still have the Chicagoland accent even if its been 22 years. I refuse to call a water fountain a damn "bubbler"

We did that in Virginia too. Davenport that is. It was the manufacturers name but it became generic like Xerox and the trademark got lost.

Well, there are the Lakefront Liberals who hate the Machine. There are the Republican suburbanites who hate the Machine. There are members of the Machine who either lost their clout, are facing Federal indictments, or got passed over by someone who has raised more campaign contributions. There are downstate residents who think the urban sprawl of Chicago will cover 100 to 300 miles in a year. There are Illinois alumni who hate FIBs who went to the other Big 10 schools or Notre Dame. And then there are those who simply hate winter and then suffer through the delays at O'Hare, trying to get to Florida or Arizona. And then there are White Sox fans who are still mad that the Cubs had a much bigger victory parade after the 2016 World Series.

In NW Indiana we called them FIP s back in 80s and 90s and I haven't heard that term in a long time. Since Wisconsin State Troopers are no joke I assume Wisconsin gets quite a bit of income from the way FIBs drive.
I like the kwiq trip in Kenosha next to McDonald's across the way from woodmans.
I asked directions one time. He said drive down the road . take a right after the burnt down barn .that burn twenty years ago .
