Dior Spring-Summer 2021 Trend Look feat. New Backstage Makeup Products

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Besides the quintessentially-dramatic #holidaymakeup collections, DIOR has dropped a whole bunch of items in their #DiorBackstage line, including a new ultra-dense 24H Stylo pencil featured on their #SS2021 runway show (which gives the intense effect of gel or liquid), and a trio of precious-metal themed #BACKSTAGEGlowFace palettes and shimmery #LipMaximizers for the holiday season.
I'll be recreating Peter Phillips' S/S 2021 Ready-to-wear runway look in the front part of the video, and then topping it up with some intense gold highlights in the back portion!

Hey guys pls bear with the annoying mid-roll ads for awhile. KZread automatically loads them if you forget to disable them, and am unable to disable them from a mobile device right now!

For someone who loves an absolutely natural make up aesthetic, the whole Backstage collection from Dior is perfection 😻💗💗💗 Love seeing you use everything together as they were designed to be. Such a treat to watch ✨ I totally agree with your words regarding fashion being mostly about attitude - truly couldn't have said it better myself. The new glow palettes look lovely, I'd pick the rose gold one! The fact that there's a matching maximiser is awesome too 👏 Honestly you totally nailed the graphic liner look, it looks so stylish! Very very cool. I love Peter Philip's works and his vision is truly remarkable. And I think you did him absolute justice. It was also fun to see the amped up gold version of this look! Rather festive..yet somehow reminiscent of spring. How intriguing~

Hahaha sooo, so glad you enjoyed it! I do think the rose gold would be a lot more versatile than the pure gold (which could have been used on the set of Goldfinger LOL). I've followed Peter Phillips since his Chanel days and always loved his themes and color stories, so this was a total treat for me to recreate! It's also pretty "pared down" for him, colour- and product-wise, which made it a bit easier.

@@IamCandiceKC Yes, it was a lovely video to watch! And you're right, the rose gold and copper ones seem more versatile for sure...but I guess Goldfinger is a whole other aesthetic 🤣I do like the idea of using it as eyeshadow though, would love to hear how it goes for you! I'm fairly new in comparison to a long time follower such as you, but I've been looking at whatever I can find related to his works..it really inspired me a lot. I'm happy that you've been enjoying his works for so long. He always does so many interesting things, without making it look unpleasant. Very cool. I also liked his Christmas collection looks for this year..especially the silver look *I feel like trying it so bad*

Love the eye look! Would look striking peering above a mask. I'm going to attempt it with my Kat Von D cake eyeliner that's good for this type of look. I brought the same Dior highlighter palette from Sephora and twice it came broken, they are very fragile! I went in store yesterday and exchanged for a new one. Does the lip maximizer have that stinging quality, not in to those type. Great tutorial and tips!

Hey Denise, oh wow that's horrible that your highlighters broke twice! I haven't had that issue but that our products don't travel a big distance here in Singapore LOL. They are really soft, for sure! The Lip Maximizer has a gentle tingle, not like those Too Faced or Lip Venom type stingers if you know what I mean! I can't stand those. This one plumps with hyaluronic acid mainly. Not pepper extract.

I'm curious-the eyeliner does it stay in place over a few hours or does it smudge and melt?

  • @IamCandiceKC

    @IamCandiceKC

    3 жыл бұрын

Hi Katz, for me it didn't melt or smudge at all, but do bear in mind I don't have extremely oily eyes. Dior claims it's a 24H long wear formula but I would expect that if you have very, very oily lids, it will still break down a bit regardless. (Not possible for any makeup to stay 100% intact with prolonged oil contact.) It's still more smudge-proof than most other inky-black pencils that I've tried but just how long it can stay completely smudge-proof before it starts breaking down a bit will depend on individual oiliness level!

@@IamCandiceKC Thanks-I have mildly oily lids always use a primer but my biggest problem is watery eyes.

  • @IamCandiceKC

@@akatz6566 I think watery eyes would not be too much of an issue for this formula (unless you are wearing it only in the waterline). My guess is with slightly oily lids, you MAY start seeing a tiny bit of transfer or smudging (depending where and how its applied) after about 4 hours or so. It performs almost exactly like long-wear pot gel eyeliner. One tip to lock them in place longer is to trace black eyeshadow over them after applying, or trace above/below your liner with loose translucent powder!

I have just tried Dior holiday limited 5 color eyeshadow (gold one ) , and one lipstick , metallic red something ,yesterday . now you take us to SS 2021 ...lol When I use brush for foundation , at first there will be a lot on the brush , then there will be a lot on my face ...if I reduce the quantity ,there would not be enough ..so each time it ends with a heavy effect , totally disaster . I use figure or eggs now , instead of brush. I am curious how you made it , it looks good ..

  • @IamCandiceKC

Hahahahaha I used an ultra-flat foundation brush and only tapped lightly in the highlighter so there's minimal product. If you use a thicker, denser one with more bristles, it will pick up a lot more product. But fingers are really good so just stick with that! The heat melts it in to your skin so it looks more "glossy" but your fingers also take away some of the excess product. P.S. the Dior holiday collection is bomb!!

@@xueyu7188 HAHAHA, I know what you mean. It happens sometimes, because the creative directors may design colors to coordinate together in a color story. But I think that happens more when a color has quite strong undertones (very cool or very warm, or a strong color generally). These tend to require more coordinating in terms of eye and cheek and even outfit colors to bring out their best, and the makeup for the same collection will definitely match well. When they do very neutral colors, you may find it less tricky to match them with other makeup!
