"Buy Lesser, Buy Better": Smarter Beauty Splurges for 2022!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Spend where it makes a difference to spend more.
I made it a shopping resolution towards end of 2021 to declutter and be more selective about what I pick up. #LESSERBETTER things became something that I kept in mind. (And it applies to not just things but also people *wink*.)
If you want something expensive, instead of buying 4-5 cheapies you don't love as alternatives and then wasting a load of money...
1. Do your research. Is it really good, and what alternatives are there?
2. Resist instant gratification. If you still want it 2-3 weeks later, then okay.
3. Be honest with yourself. Why do you want it, and does it ACTUALLY suit you?
4. Make sure you have the excess resources. The only "right time" to buy something non-essential is WHEN you have the extra money. Not when it's on sale, not when it's limited, not when you can pay in installments, and not when bills are unpaid.
5. Choose something that is going to serve you. If you can't use it often or have to baby it, then nah.
That said, NOT everything is worth spending loads on. There are smarter areas to splurge on because some items go the extra mile and just make more of an impact. In this 2-part video series, I'm going to run through "Lesser, Better" beauty and fashion purchases and things I'd recommend if you're really looking to invest!

I am currently in absolute love with several Cle De Peau products. The radiant cream foundation is one of them.

Hey! Wishing you a great year and life ahead! ✨ This is a great series idea. I have been convincing myself to have less yet effective and good quality products. Would love to see your recommendations and reviews! 🖤

Yesss you're definitely on the right track! I think there's fun to buying loads of things, but I almost always end up with tons of things I don't love or use, and I could have just saved all that money and bought that one really good quality item I'd originally wanted. Ohh, to turn back time LOL!!

👆🏼 This… I’m on that journey too. So used to fast fashion and trends that it’s hard to switch to getting max use out of a few loved items, but haha I will try!!

Always so informative. Do you feel anything when using Tripollar device? i'm asking because i'm afraid it might be abit painful because its RF. when using the device, the instructions were to use a gel beforehand, can any gel be used? thanks.

Hi Kan, I was worried about pain at first as well but it's been fine. There are 2 settings, a lower and a higher, so you always start out with the lower one and raise the power for thicker areas like the cheeks and jaw when you want. It's not painful at all if you use it as instructed (using a conductive gel, moving the device across the skin in circles and never stopping in one spot), just a sensation of 40-degrees Celsius heat moving under the skin as you glide the nodes across. If I get distracted and stop in one spot too long it may sting but it's never burnt or damaged by skin yet.

Forgot to mention regarding the gel, most conductive gels work fine. You need a gel for the nodes to glide over the skin and allow the RF to conduct into your skin properly. Otherwise you won't get any of the heat or benefits. (Aloe vera gel can't conduct unless you mix salt water in, and that's too troublesome.) The Tripollar gel is very expensive though, so I actually buy cheaper facial conductive gels online from places like Lazada etc and it works fine. Just look for the ones that say they are made for RF! Hope this helps.

@@IamCandiceKC thanks! I was hoping i can use clinique’s gel because sensitive skin.. maybe i can try, if i dont feel any heat means the gel not conductive.

@@meiltoo Yeah sure you can always try it with skincare first. If it doesn’t work it’s not wasted! And you can order cheaper facial conductive gel afterwards. It’s usually only a few dollars for a pretty big bottle.
