Dimash is the child that almost drowns, the boy that saves him becomes the piper (dictator), the girl becomes Dimash’s wife.

I have mentioned that Dimash should win the Nobel peace prize as soon as this video came out.....it seems many agree.

The boy who was saved in the beginning was the one played by Dimash. The other, if you note the mole on the face, the savior of Dimash, is the one who takes the wrong path.

The film is based on a story written by Dimash, with his own screenplay. The director Alina Veripya told about the creation of the music video for the new song : The clip is divided into several parts. The first one is about childhood. The main character, his 2 friends are connected by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the Protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in this children’s story, as the boys are in love with one girl, and she chooses one. The second experiences a kind of psychological breakdown and transfers the children’s problems into the adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. By becoming president, the Antagonist carries the idea of a saving war: “Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give the world freedom. A world where every city, every home is one. We will lead all who are ready to begin this new life. Anyone who resists has no place with us. I choose freedom. The world is open before me, and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.” The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge. However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace. A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together. *This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children* . Just a note, Dimash's character is the boy who made the necklaces. The other boy who saved him from drowning and is shunned by the little girl, is the dictator. The little girl becomes the soldier's (Dimash) wife. The little girl that is killed is their child. The wife dies in childbirth at the moment the soldier father dies. The baby becomes the leader heading toward the light, leading people and religious leaders to peace. The symbol in the neclaces is the gnome - part of a sundial. The boy who grew up to be the commander bends his in his hand and he then looses his way and has a warped idea of 'war is peace' . Incredible in all ways.

I travelled to Almaty and was in his concert on Friday. He also organised an event yesterday and presented the video. The stadium was in a total silence. I had chills and tears. I watched again on YT and again, chills and tears. This video proves (if necessary…) that he is so more than an insane vocalist: he conveys a message to the world, and his voice is his channel. We love him because he directly speaks to our soul. He is like an old sage in the body of a young handsome man. He is so far from what leads the world in the XXI century: money, power, violence, individualism… especially in our Western countries. I really hope that he will be known all around the world, not only because of is insane talent but also because the world needs people like him, with true and strong values: respect, peace, harmony, beyond boundaries, cultures and religions.

No one else but Dimash has used their artistry to try to unit the world in peace... It is why he is an independent artist. Can you imagine some mogul music company producing a video like this. You need to watch Dimash's "War and Peace"... From his concert in Ukraine. The song "Marigolds" from that concert is also a must. He learned it in the Ukrainian language over night, and sang it to his mother who was in the audience. The Ukrainian Dears gifted him a beautiful embroidered shirt, and he wore it when he performed during the concert.

Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. Qazakstan only achieved independence from an oppressive regime 30 years ago, our Dimash is only 28. He knows the history of his homeland and of current and past heroes of the conflict. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations. He has stated that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice. This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there has been four in just this year alone. I strongly encourage you to watch the fancam short for the last part of this amazing performance from his concert on the 23rd of September in Almaty, Qazakstan where it premiered. The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events. He was on his knees and someone stated he was crying at the end. His last words after the performance still on his knees was 'we need peace'. The Story of One Sky is an absolute masterpiece and deserves unrivalled recognition from all corners of the earth. This makes you sad, cry and smile but leaves you questioning the direction we as a humans are travelling. Dimash promised something epic and that was a colossal understatement. He delivered as always. ❤💕

Dimash sang this piece 2 weeks ago in the capital of Kazakhstan at the Congress of Leaders of World Religions.

The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash’s family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end. This video needs to be shown worldwide

I am responding seven months after this reaction of yours. It was pointed out to me, I had not noticed, that the necklace the young boy gives himself and each of his friends continues with them all into adulthood. The boy who was saved in the opening sequence grows into the war monger and Dimash then as the grown young boy is driven to take the life of the one he once saved sacrificing himself in turn as he is gunned down. The girl becomes the woman giving birth to Dimash's son, a son that Dimash will never meet. The three of them and the newborn baby are united by the symbol of the necklaces he made for them. Dimash leads the victims of war, from all walks, and all religions, and all nationalities to Jannah, Heaven, as together they choose life. The story of one sky is a call to end war and human suffering by choosing peace.

Why can't we humans make it in this world. Maybe that's why Dimash is among us and sings.

I believe this is a historical piece as well as his song War and Peace. May I be so bold to say Dimash will sit among the greatest like Bach, Chopin, Mozart, etc.

This is subtitled "Requiem" but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14 at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. He received a medal of commemoration from the Pope for his work. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me. The pendant is an interesting element. It resembles the number 4. In many cultures the number four is closely connected to the order of the world as the number symbolizing earth and mankind: the four cardinal points: North - South - East - West; the four winds; the four phases of the moon; the four seasons; the four elements: earth - air - fire - water, for example. There are four holy books in Islam: Quran, Torah, Zabor, and Injil. The cross has four corners and four appears frequently in the Christian Bible: in the Book of Revelation, the number 4 refers to the fourfold division of humanity representing all of creation. In the Kabbalah, there are four worlds: the 4th world being our physical finite realm, the cosmological universe. The Egyptian pyramids have four or eight sides as the concept of an orderly worldview was fundamental to ancient Egyptian thought. Then there are the 4 Noble Truths of Buddhism, the 4th being ‘The Truth of the Path’ where suffering finally ends. Note: Please read Snarky Tart's reply to my comment. His explanation about the pendant is the right one. It is a gnomon, from a maritime compass sundial. He also adds other valuable information. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken in some way by life. Then we turn to power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances and control over our circumstances, and this appeals to our ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and destructive leaders. Even if we resist, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. The imagery at the end is very visionary: when the old Dimash character is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of suffering by choosing life. The old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Reborn as a leader for peace and love, he becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, and spiritual orientations vary greatly. Thank you! So very well said. I agree with the pendant is an interesting element: It is noticeable that the orientation of the pendant is significant. When Young-Dimash hands it to the other boy (the future Piper) it is upright and resembles a 'P', yet the Piper has twisted it to face downwards in all other images, including his emblem. Dimash and the girl/woman's pendants are always upright to resemble a 'P'. The pendant is also placed round the newborn's neck with the downward orientation, yet in the next image where he is grown up, the pendant is upright and resembles a 'P' - indicating a choice ... for PEACE??

@Heiderose Kober - You're right about what would be required to decipher all the symbolism in any Dimash staging, and especially this long MV. It would need some deep education in quantum mechanics, metaphysics, world religions, world history from ancient to contemporary, and that's before we even get to the music. He must know that few will notice or care enough to unravel, or even be aware of, the veritable Da Vinci code he embeds in so many of his concert stages and MVs. It's a whole other dissertation to understand why he chooses to communicate in obscure symbols. I try my best, with awareness that a lot escapes and surpasses my abilities. Since you obviously appreciate Dimash's Easter eggs the way I do, here's a few I've found in this video. I'll avoid speculating about their meaning, at least for now, but I'm so grateful to run across someone else (you) who looks. 1. The pendant - it's a gnomon, from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial, while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. 2. The child/commander never puts on the necklace. The last frame of the pendant in his childish hand, it shows that he has bent the gnomon (it's not bent when child Dimash gives it to him). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North. 3. The symbol he uses on his commander's uniform and cap is the gnomon without the pinhole. Without this hole, it can never project the sun. 4. His last act before meeting soldier Dimash at the gates is to crush the gnomon in his hand 5. At the end of the vocalise interval, Dimash chants "Om" using perfect overtones. From Buddhism: "Om is the primordial throb of the universe. It is the sound form of Consciousness." - Maitri Upanishad 6. [edited to correct] Immediately after the last "Om", Dimash, using vocal fry, a friend informs that he says: "Adam kereun, omir zhol". It's in Kazakh and I don't know what it means. 7. The concept that the commander uses to manipulate the people's belief, that they are doing good through war, borrows heavily from Isiah, the Jewish prophet found in the Hebrew bible, the Christian Old Testament, and the Quran. Isiah said: "“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness!” 8. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on June 23, 2020 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and was photographed, with both of these significant religious leaders at the recent Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, where he debuted “The Story of One Sky”. It's unknown if it was his first meeting with either of these men. 9. At the conclusion of his performance before the religious leaders of the congress, Dimash asked the audience, “Promise you will listen closely. I need to reach you, please”. My background is literature and archetypes in literature, so I have been fascinated by Dimash's use of symbolic language in his music from the very beginning. How such a young man can have such a deep understanding is mind-boggling. He must have had some great spiritual teachers along the way. I will have to watch this many times more to appreciate it all. With every viewing, I discover more treasure.

Oh, I almost forgot this one: 10. The sign that's burning on the ground when soldier Dimash returns to his home says "Waldenburg". In April 1945 at the end of World War II the German town of Waldenburg had been occupied for a last-ditch stand by the Wehrmacht against the advancing United States 3rd army, and was almost completely destroyed by American artillery.

The Piper [the older boy who becomes the Commander] is also similar to "The Pied Piper" -- leading away followers who can't resist... and one of the song lyrics encourages them to break away from following the bad (destructive) influence of the Piper's direction, and instead turn away and escape from wrong to the right direction Part of the irony is that the older boy who at first saves the younger one [Dimash] grows to be ruthless (contrary to the innocent youth caring in the rescue) -- and is killed by the grown up younger boy, who in turn is killed and symbolically returned back to the imagery of the waters that would have killed him if he had not been rescued by the youth version of the Piper The figures walking through the sands represent the victims of all races, people, and religions -- i.e. war and intolerance plays no favorites, and all end up suffering and dying needlessly... The symbol, passed on to the baby [who also represents fresh innocence, and our future generations], is also a reminder that we pass along to our children -- so will we pass them our hopes that they can retain their original intentions of the symbol [friendship, peace, tolerance, and caring], or does we pass along our misguided directions [hatred, control, destruction, intolerance of those that don't follow our control and beliefs]. NOTE: Merriam-Webster - Definition of Pied Piper 1: one that offers strong but delusive enticement 2: a leader who makes irresponsible promises 3: a charismatic person who attracts followers

After watching a number of times I now think that the young boy who was saved from drowning was the Dimash character & the other boy grew to be the Dictator. The young boy who was saved had to survive to stop the Dictator later in life. Also the woman giving birth was the childhood sweetheart of the Dimash character and became his wife - they were both wearing the symbols that he made for them - and the child that died was theirs too & that was why he had to kill the Dictator. The symbol on the dictators uniform was the one given to him as a boy which was slightly different to the other two. So powerful and raw 😪😩😪

My understanding is Dimash was the boy in blue at the beginning. The ultimate war leader was the other boy. The woman giving birth was the girl at the beginning, who was his wife, and it was his daughter that was shot and was grieving over. I believe that the baby was him reincarnated with the same talisman.... And that as he gre up, he became the man leading the different religious leaders up the mountain to the light at the end. 😥😭💔❤️🥰

Absolutely shocking!!! Dimash and all good people in the world opt for peace! What would it take for world leaders to do the same?

I don't know what awards are given for Video shorts and/or music videos but everyone of them should be given to this video in whatever categories it falls in. It is the most relevant piece of art I have seen in years. This man is a true gift to humanity and if we all had his heart imagine the world we'd live in. I cried my eyes out when I watched it the first time. His screams underwater are as real as I've seen. I believe every emotion he conveyed because I know they are what's in his heart. Truly deeply moving emotional video. The vocals were just magnificent. I think you're right. This is going to be big and if it's not it should be. 😎

No, Dimash was the taller boy who saved the life of the other boy, who ended up as the evil ruler (he also had the necklace), who Dimash killed. The mother who gave birth also had the necklace she was the girl at the beginning. She gave her necklace to her baby.

Ребята здравствуйте, Димаш играл роль мальчика, который чуть не утонул, это детская дружба трех детей, двух мальчишек и одной девушки. Оба мальчика симпотезировали девочке, но мальчик которого играл Димаш в будущем женится на данной девушки и у них будет дочь, кроме этого его жена будет беременна, в клипе это вы видели. А второй парень вырастит и станет руководителем, агрессором, диктатором..... далее по клипу уже ясно. Путники идущие у склона горы - это различные веры, как Ислам, Христианство, буддизм и Еврей. I was lucky enough to see Dimash perform this at his concert in Almaty, I hope the video of the concert will be released it was mind blowing. Watching Dimash perform this live whilst showing elements of the mv behind him left us all stunned throughout. He broke down in tears at the end on his knees and finished by saying 'We need Peace' 💔 x🙏

Oh, you are so lucky to have been there!! I saw him in Prague in April, but this Almaty concert was one for the ages!! I do hope he has another like this in a couple of years, during which time I can save some $$ to be able to attend! So happy you were able to experience Almaty; I do hope they make a video of the entire concert! 🙂

Hi. I have a question. In a fancam videoclip I could see the images behind Dimash when he was performing. I thought Dimash in white on a high mountain singing would be in the MV, but it isn't. Does anybody know if Dimash is going to use the shot somewhere? It looked so beautiful! I have also seen Dimash dancing with a bunch of men in leather. But I don't know what the context is. Can someone help?

Such a Powerful , mind provoking song. Dimash the humanitarian ~! William.. So much of this video was about the images, not just our vocal gods singing abilities. That ending with all those who'd lost their lives, walking into the light. My God Dimash, you are like No other singer in so many different ways.

Dimash definitely is a messenger, gifted with a voice and having an incredible dedication to developing that voice so he can spread his message through song.

War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. Story: Requiem means: Funeral, Funeral Mass, Funeral Service The clip is divided into several parts. The first one is about childhood. The main character, his 2 friends are connected by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the Protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in this children’s story, as the boys are in love with one girl, and she chooses one. The second experiences a kind of psychological breakdown and transfers the children’s problems into the adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. I can’t get through this Dimash video without crying..

Words are tossed about so easily these days that they lose their meaning - phrases likewise, but Di is so exquisite, so talented, so gifted. These are words not wasted on describing him or at least trying to describe him. The GOAT - said so often about so many that it too has lost a lot of it's true descriptive intent - but not where Di is concerned. He truly is a once in a lifetime experience and he is a total experience. He isn't just about words, or music or lyrics and he isn't just a pretty vessel - he is the whole shebang, and I do not think I will see the like of him again in my lifetime.

You NEED to listen/watch the video(s) of his 9-23-22 performance of this song at his "Stranger," Almaty concert if you haven't, Dear. INCREDIBLE! Dimash is the one who is saved (hence the requiem at the beginning) and eventually marry & have 1st a daughter (and later the son born at the end) with the girl on the beach whom they both loved. The older boy grew to become the authoritarian ruler after losing his love to DQ unable to be happy that she was yet still clinging to their childhood talisman of friendship and love unable to choose the good around him, it seemed to me. DQ's absolute genius is far too deep for him to fully express and give to us...he's magnificent.

When he said, "It's time to stop Imagine" The song by John Lennon came to mind. I thought Dimash was suppose to be the smaller boy that almost drowned. Did I get it wrong? This was such a moving, thought provoking, and emotional song and mv.

Your face expresses just how I feel when I listen to this.. Even without the message..I could listen to Dimash sing this song all day and night!!!

Michael Jackson is Dimash's idol. Michael was one of the most honest and probably the lest appreciated in our history. Dimash did a great job learning so much from the master and even made it his own, just like the good student would do. I went ahead and compared their horoscopes. They are very similar! The bad guy was the one that saved the little boy that was Dimash the little girl at the beginning was his wife pregnant giving birth to a second child, the little girl killed was his first daughter, Dimash took retribution against the guy that saved him and had turned bad and was himself killed by gun shot and drowning. You can see the bad guy used the emblem on the patches and at one point he was shown holding the necklace given to him. You turned your head and missed it. It is truly magnificent and so important. One thing to mention, Dimash's character was the one who was saved from drowning. His friend who rescued him becomes the inhumane general (probably because he could not "get over" the girl choosing Dimash over him). They then grow up, the young girl and pregnant woman are Dimash's character's child and wife, his child is then killed, he then chose revenge, with did no good, because it just caused him to die, too! I have not yet figured out if the baby born is a reincarnation of the evil general, who is now a good, peaceful leader, or a reincarnation of Dimash's same character, even more peaceful, in that he learned revenge is not the answer. As always, I love your reactions. ♥

Heartbreakingly magnificent! Powerful portrayal! Brutally honest in showcasing how war rages against a life of peace in all regions of the world. This video brings one to the brink of despair yet shows that life endures and hope lives on from generation to generation! Profound performance by Dimash and all those who participated in the artistry of this production! Showing his immense grief for his dead daughter then as he dies his son is born. You see the baby wearing the mother's sign of life and peace and then he is shown grown into the very image of his father wearing the same necklace walking toward a dawning new light! My soul cried along with you!

I cried in anguish in the first two thirds of what I will call the Dimash magnum opus: The Story of One Sky. it seems like a prognostication of how the world will end if we look at the context of its state right now. The song of Dimash is a soul dirge to a world on the verge of extinction. The cry for a destroyed civilization, the savage desire of a man or country (?) who would like to unite(?!?) but really to rule the world through bloodshed, a godless way in pursuit of selfish ambition, the destruction of lives and all that it stands for. If we do not do anything to achieve genuine peace, this is how the world will end. If we do not look at that Supreme Being Who is the only One Who can bring peace, then we can bid this world goodbye. But the Dimash opus has shed some hope and light. While revenge is the most worthless of causes, as the defender and the criminal both died, we see all faiths lamenting but on the pathway to what is known as heaven. the birth pangs represent the upheaval of a world gone mad, and juxtaposed with it is the march toward where the soul can have repose. At the last, the representation of a new beginning is epitomized by a baby who bear the same emblem of unity and peace espoused by now gone father, but to be continued by his son. Sacrifices cannot be avoided in the quest for the ideal. Oh, Dimash, you should be the World Ambassador for Peace.
