Grammy-nominated singer and voice coach William discovers this beautiful song "Adagio" has it own mysterious secret. Is it really an instrumental piece from the Baroque era or a very clever hoax?

Lovely reaction! Youre the first reactor Ive seen to this performance ( Ive seen at least a hundred!) who goes into the original piece by Albinoni, which I love to listen to, not the sugary modern version but the Baroque one..Ive posted in comment that this was the original piece with a link to a performance, and nobody has ever even liked or commented on it! By the way, I would not be surprised at all if Dimash knows the original inside out! His "classical" training means he knows everything about all these types of music.. just listen to his version of Hello for his cadenza, in a pop song! Anyway, this is an extraordinary performance, actually Dimash was pulling out all the stops in a bid to recover his high position in this competition, so he leaves everything out there on the stage, actually out of breath afterwards! Greetings from Fish Hoek, Cape Town..would love to show you my beautiful sea view, I appreciate seeing your surrounds too.

Dimash played Adagio Albinoni when he studied in musical college on the examination. He is virtuosic piano player - he won his first competition on piano on 5 y.o.

Ken Tamplin, vocal coach did reaction to Dimash 9 months ago. A very good reaction & related it to Lara Fabians 2 years before. Of course Lara is one of Dimash's idols. Ken & William do very different types of reactions with William showing far more empathy & knowledge to how it is sung & the music, Ken is appreciative of the song but more clinical in the presentation.

Hello Brian, I'd so love to visit Cape Town some day. I'm very lucky, also, that I live in a lovely place. I never thought I'd come to live in Thailand but it's a perfect fit for me and my Thai family are wonderful. Assuming we already know the performer is 'wow', I wonder if the viewers would like more information on the song and singing, so that's the approach I like to take. I've got such a lot of experience working in the entertainment industry and a lot of background knowledge from all my years studying music, I'm hoping to put it to good use. I do 'react' and I never watch the song beforehand but I always prepare in advance. :-)

For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be. The interpretation of the song by Dimash is brilliant. He touches my heart and soul ... every time. The shaking of his head and the trembling of the chin has nothing to do with the vibrato. It just goes to show that Dimash can be a little nervous and tense too. It was about a lot. In the previous Episode 5 (Uptown Funk) he yanked everyone out of their seats but still got last place. Either he won now or he would go home. Of course, Dimash won Episode 6. That classical baroque melody cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. Today it is one of the most popular works of “classical music”. Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire. * Lara Fabian (Lara Sophie Katy Crokaert) *1970, is a fantastic Belgian-Canadian pop singer and songwriter. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2017, she returned permanently to Montreal, Quebec, to be with her family. At the age of eight she studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (10 years). She is classical trained, speaks 6 languages and sings in 13 languages. Her albums have been awarded gold and platinum in the whole world. Lara is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and for Dimash the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019. They sang: 'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipWFqMiqc5bSnrg.html * Dimash - Adagio - The Singer 2017 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/n2hlrcOfkZSaotI.html * Dimash - Closing Ceremony of New Wave in Sochi, Sept.2018 (No faulty microphone) - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJmjqtKwabe4mdI.html * Dimash Adagio - Gala Concert ''Slavic Bazaar'' 2018 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGSatqekadefkrA.html * Baroque piece, Albinoni´s famous Adagio - Hauser-Adagio - kzread.info/dash/bejne/naJlycWjpcvSmMo.html * Lara Fabian - Adagio - kzread.info/dash/bejne/nH-osNeFd5jQcdI.html * Trio (Lara, Aida Garifullina, Dimash) -'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipWFqMiqc5bSnrg.html * Dimash - Mademoiselle Hyde - kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4Z9sauihq_bec4.html * Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde - kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqmHpsajhZe5aLDa.html=hCyej7qrwWY * Dimash Qudaibergen (Rehearsal) + Aida Garifullina - ADAGIO - kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6OKu6qIec7Ug7A.html (two performances in one video)

That’s interesting about the translation of adagio. Meaning, so be it. The @Albinoni Adagio is registered copyright to Remo Giazotto (1910 - 1998), Italian musicologist and critic. He said it was based on a fragment he found in a library in 1958 but later changed his story - maybe because the publishing is worth a fortune!!!

This version of Adagio is the one written by Lara Fabian...she saw his performance after friends told her about it and she congratulated him . After she met him and sang with him and Aida in Tiamo Cosi. She wrote the lyrics to Your Love , called Igor Krutoy up and told him how the song was supposed to go and so Igor composed the music and Dimash and Erlan ( his music arranger. And sound tech) arranged it... You should definitely react to that song!!! Lara was Igor's muse and he wrote for her and with her for many years. Now Igor has a new Muse in Dimash and their collaborations are amazing! Your reactions are lovely!

Lara wrote the words along with her (then) partner & producer Rick Allison. The music comes from Remo Giazotto who released it to the world in 1958 as a lost work by Venetian composer Tomaso Albinino. Most likely he wrote it entirely himself, though he might have used an Albinoni baseline, and Rema, though deceased, still holds the copyright!!! :-)

The way I heard the story of "Your Love" is that Igor Krutoy first composed the music. He went to his go-to lyricist, Lilia Lecco, to write the lyrics. Something didn't work out to everyone's satisfaction, so Igor went to Lara Fabian at Dimash's request. Lara didn't have much time to write the lyrics (it shows, in my opinion). Dimash, who had been on his Arnau tour, came sliding into Moscow the day before the debut performance. Igor, Erlan and Dimash were still arranging the song that same night. At one point they got Lara on the phone to coach Dimash in the pronunciation of the English lyrics, since she was the only one of them who spoke English. She rewrote some of the lyrics that night (possibly due to Dimash's pronunciation difficulties without enough practice, but I don't know that for certain). The debut was a rush job. The lyrics aren't to Lara's usual standards, and Dimash struggled with pronunciation and phrasing. "Your Love" has the bones of a great song that didn't have enough time in the oven.

Neverovatna tehnika i kontrola. Btw.... In a way , in a sense Dimash was singing for his lif ( on the show). He had scored quite low the week before with Uptown Funk and I think was determined not to leave the show. Needless to say, this performance won round number 6!

Yes, Linda, you are absolutely right: singing for his life in the competition. That brings out something else in our human animal: the need to survive! I should look at another, later version of this song too. In this one, he gives almost too much. Not that I worry about his voice, but I worry about the pressure on such a young person.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Anastasia Luna, … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKWjtY-Ef6-8j5c.html Her italian version is also amazing. You can check her recent rendition in Paris early october 2022 kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKmgydqCXZvgmpc.html
