Hi guys! Thank you for your sincere reaction. When I first heard this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching! 😢😢 Dimash has worked hard for 3 years on this MV, and it turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts in trying to bring the world together in love, peace and unity. He is a Legend and will go down in History. The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end; 2) Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end; 3) The young girl, became Dimash’s future wife who gave birth to his son at the end, and Dimash's daughter who was killed by the Piper's army. They were all torn by the war. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism,, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony. I’m choosing life!! 🙏🙏 See you in your next reaction. Love from Canada 💖💖

The way you summarize it,Dimash was telling the story of JesusChrist& what He came to earth for. D told Christ’s metaphorically which is really ironic considering D is a Muslim &that religion does not subscribe to Christ’s origin, end, divinity or prophecy. In fact, its sacred writings command to exterminate all infidels& specifically identifies all Catholics, other Christians& Jews as the infidels. So Dimash’s masterful video& beautiful song gives me hope that perhaps he is a reformed Muslim& not a traditional or fundamental Wahhabist who believes that a select $1B+ ppl must be exterminated.

The sad thing is it is happening in several countries. Dimash has created a masterpiece with the message that we have to stop the wars. We all have become immune to what is going on as it's so common place & we all need to wake up & think of the realities of war & the suffering going on all the time in the world. War is a money-making machine & the world has become more concerned with money & power & to some powers that be, lives don't matter, suffering is seen as a necessity & it's so wrong. We need to stop accepting this way of thinking & come together as one & say enough is enough. The problem is getting people to stand together as a whole. That brings us to the different religions & unfortunately there is fear & distrust there too. In Afghanistan they have a religious building where all religions go to pray & practice their faiths. I think that is brilliant & a place to start, maybe all countries should do the same, after all surely the God being praised is the same God even though he's called by different names &, as Dimash's video says, we're all living under one sky, so maybe that's a place to start. Great reaction again guys. I've been looking out for your reaction to this. Where have you been? 😕 Nice to see you both back doing what we all love you doing 👍👏

Ver lo qué pasa en realidad en muchos países, no escucharlo solamente, casa uno vive sú historia, ésto le puede pasar a cualquiera, hay qué aprender a mirar al costado, por favor, que el mundo sienta más empatía, por los qué sufren. Y'all got the video correct.. The woman giving birth was the little girl in the boat with Dimash and they grew up and got married. The little girl was Dimash's daughter and the baby being born was his son.. The men marching in the desert was representing all the different religions and at the end Dimash does die, his son is born and grows up to be a leader of all religions. That's who we see at the very end as a shepherd leading the religions to peace was dimash's son.. Thanks guys. Love all your reactions please keep them coming.. Love an Oklahoma Dear 💕

This is subtitled "Requiem” to commemorate and mourn all those who have died in war, but it is also a vision for the future and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony to be achieved by erasing our differences and giving up our identities. This is not likely to happen because the world is complex, cultural roots run deep, and people experience life quite differently across the globe. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must find common ground while respecting our differences and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. We see that happening every day around us. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Many of us remember the story of the Pied Piper of Hameln from our childhood. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start war, who do not support war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed out buildings were women and children. There are no winners in war. Dimash is right: war is death. The good guys (the Allied Forces) defeated evil (Hitler) but at what cost? It is estimated that civilian deaths totaled 50-55 million globally while military deaths from all causes totaled 21-25 million. War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check or we will destroy ourselves and our planet. iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening of the sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is also that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” There is a very moving scene where pilgrims bury a man who perished on the journey. Men of different faiths come together to honor his life and his passing. That reverent expression of love and unity stands in stark contrast to the commander’s harsh pronouncement that war unites people. Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Dimash is a very spiritual person, so using the symbols and sounds of the major world religions is fitting for this work. For those who do not subscribe to any faith tradition, I want to mention Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s latest book “Starry Messenger” where this agnostic scientist calls for the need to develop a cosmic perspective along with the rationality of science to solve the intractable human conflicts that so often lead to war. It is on that higher ground - be it in religion, humanism, or science, - that we can find common ground.

I was really looking forward to watching your reaction, you both understood the message, which I knew that you both would. Love your reaction ❤. Extremely powerful message, Dimash composed the music and wrote the script for the music video. Some people listen to Dimash and think that he shows off with vocal acrobatics, this video is a perfect example that when you hear those types of vocals, there is an emotional reason behind them, whether it’s grieving, sadness, frustration, happiness, there’s a reason. Everything is well thought out and deliberate, we may not fully understand at the time we first hear it, but usually someone will explain the story behind the song. Dimash, and you see it before a live performance, he goes into a zone where he emotionally becomes the song and knows how to portray the emotion of the story. Thank you both for sharing your reaction ❤

Hi, Janet, here's the best reading of this video by a youtuber: “This is subtitled “Requiem”, but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the music teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14 at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”, signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke (and received a medal from Pope Francis for his contributions to the World of Peace) with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I’ll only touch on some of what struck me. 1 The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial, while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. In the Music Video, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through, as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers. 2 Contemporary music is also present: with the phrase “We have passed the moment of Imagine”, Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song “Imagine” by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. 3 The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. 4 The Piper’s Call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let’s remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? 5 The burning sign “Waldenburg” is a reference to the end of WWII, when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht to end the war in April of 1945. Many of the dead were women and children, because all men ages 15 through 75 were mobilized. So, the good guys defeated evil, but at what price? 6 The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and life are both sacraments and are interwoven. Dimash’s vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that struck the pilgrims sharply. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the “sacred womb” of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war by choosing life. Dimash’s scream “We’re choosing life” is that of giving life: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as examplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God’s mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right. Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash’s character becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Dimash is showing us how. Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology, wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work: he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time.” We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. This is Dimash’s message to those in power. He urges them to follow their hearts. He tells them that nothing that exists is, or could ever be, outside of God. We are never outside of God - and never without God within us.

Yes, it’s an extremely sad video…especially when you realize it IS TRULY HAPPENING every single day in various parts of the world! Children and adults are maimed, orphaned, and killed. Power-hungry leaders send young men into senseless battles. No one wins; we ALL lose. And it repeats, over and over. Dimash begs each of us, regardless of race, religion, etc., to WAKE UP and stop the insanity before it’s too late! He is unique: what other person would devote 3 years of his time; seven million dollars of his own earnings; and his remarkable talent to send this important message to the world? God bless Dimash!

This video is simply breathtaking artistically, aesthetically and musically. In addition to having a strong message through a strong symbolic load. For the interpretation and voice of Dimash there are no words in any dictionary of any language to describe it with total justice. Those who know what music is about, have a complete musical training, have knowledge in vocal technique and still say they have doubts that they've just heard the greatest singer in history... they are just lying.

Per another "dear".... Mikst Granny 2 days ago (edited) 35K people from 68 countries came together in love, in solidarity, in peace in an Almaty, KZ stadium on 9-23-22 for the 4 hour concert (31 songs, I'm told) given by our young Kazakh musician who touches our souls. Below please read his brief speech that he gave to the audience before singing his newest composition, "The Story of One Sky." Sending Love & Solidarity to you & yours, Dear, and praying for peace. "Many thanks dear friends, before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much. We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents. And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation. I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next. But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true. We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children, we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children. They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities. I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago. Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world. It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart. To tell you truth, many thanks to god and with your wishes I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours. One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality! I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here... Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war. Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer! Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault. The truth of the matter is, no ordinary person is guilty of starting a war! That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky". Hope you like it." Dimash The "Pipers" refer to our leaders and how we are to follow their orders (trailing)

Great reaction thank you very much. It's important to realize that it's time not only to acknowledge good writing and video, but to act together. And yes, it's easy for me to say that since I'm not at war. Wars are ordered from above, but they would never happen if there were not those who would go to battle. Let's refuse to go into battle and refuse to produce weapons. Let's choose life now. Let's start sticking together where it's necessary. Whether in exploitative companies, whether in the neighborhood, whether on a large or small scale, we begin to live together. None of the so-called powerful can do anything if we stop participating. Peace on a small scale creates peace on a large scale. Peaceful resistance wherever possible and necessary. Live togetherness and love so that we create a great wave of good, each a small piece of the whole puzzle.
