Hello Todd. So, personal connection to Dimash. I'm an elderly, academic woman, very much down to earth, have never understood mystification of quite normal things, nor have I ever idolized any artist or other person (admired yes). One day I was listening music from my youth (late 60s/early70s) in KZread when I saw a picture of a young boy. I thought, well why not listen to him. It was Opera 2 from the Singer competition and I experienced a severe shock: do they sing somewhere like that? How come I didn't know? Then I listened to SOS and everything got unreal. I had rather heavy symptoms, both physical and mental (Florence syndrome). And a strong addiction to Dimash's voice. It took weeks to accept that Dimash was a real person, not a cyber attack against my computer. When the fear and the anxiety little by little disappeared, the addiction stayed. I have never ever experienced such an emotional outbreak. I can admire and enjoy other artists, but I NEED Dimash. 😵‍💫

Yes a competition between well established proffessional singers. Dimash was INVITED to participate and was the1st foreigner ever to take part in this competition ever and the youngest competitor that year. His 1st time away from home no English no Chinese. Yes pple in bck were participants. Audience made up of pple involved in music in some way, and were the judges. The Chinese loved him so much, that they let the world know about him. He was already well known in his own country Kazakhstan, Russia plus others, he had already won lots of prestigious singing and instrumental competigions. In 2021 he was actually invited to be on the judges panel of competitions he had been on and won plus others too. That is probably how the organisors of The Singer, got to discover him- via the competitions, discovering he won many of them. Thank goodness they did. Over Time his English has improved hugely . He had a week to learn the songs given to him weekly, and had to learn both English and Chinese phonetically. Amazing eh? I would say his confidence such as it is ( he's really tough on himself, and can always find fault) from his extensive training. At age 3 his parents were told he was pitch perfect, by a prestigious school of music, which he attended from Tyra old. Hexwas already performing publically by that she a d in fact, when his mum n dad were on stage he would join them as the audiences were applauding😊. His mum is an opera singer dad is a singer too, a d he is high up in the Kazakhstan music world. He also organises Dimash's concerts etc. Dimash received his doctorste of music this year 2022. Having studied and received degrees in several genres, both fir singing, instrumentals, composing and writing. He is a very well rounded and grounded musician. He still works with voice teachers. Welcome to Dimash world! You haven’t seen anything jet!!! This is about 1/3 or so what he can do! This is from "the Singer" contest 2017 from China! They gave him the nickname "Imported little brother" (I think know they call him "Inmported Uncle" and are there national treasure! They where the outher contestents. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. It is a one in a million voice. Professionals and professors of music say that a voice such as this only comes around only once in three or four hundred years.

Since I first heard Dimash in 2019, there has not been a single day that I have not listened to his voice. It's kind of an addiction. In 2020, I took a plane ticket specifically to attend his concert as part of his European tour. This was before the pandemic. In September of this year Dimash will give a big concert in Kazakhstan and I am seriously thinking about getting a plane ticket again...

He was still learning English language songs phonetically. His English has improved since. Given that it’s impressive that he learned this song without knowing the language.

DiMash here was singing live with live orchestra when he was only 22 years old. Already a professional in his singing and stage presence. I followed Dimash since 2016 and I can tell you that his vocals had grown so much and a lot better but knowing him as a performer he continues to excel and improve a lot more. He quoted “ Music is part of my life and it’s all I want to do in my lifetime . I may still be singing to my Dears when I am 75!” ❤️❤️❤️

This was one of the songs he performed in the "I am a singer" contest in China 2027. The organization of the contest thought that Dimash's participation as a foreign singer would only last two or three stages and they were wrong!! Dimash being the youngest contestant (22 years old) achieved unparalleled success and reached the final. They awarded him the second place, because in the bases the first one was destined for a Chinese singer. The day after the contest was launched on TV, it already had 600 million views. The CD that Dimash recorded post contest reached platinum star in 27 seconds!!

Singer 2017 was a singing competition like no other. It gathered well-established award-winning Chinese singers to compete, with the weekly audience of 500 as judges. Dimash was a total unknown that year, catapulting onto the East Asian stage and by extension onto the western international stage with his very first appearance on episode one with SOS. I'm a new subscriber to your channel, Todd! I like that you watch the whole entire video and wait until the end to give your responses, so thank you!! So, yes, this is THE show that propelled Dimash to stardom with SOS. He was 22 years and was the only one that was not Chinese. It was The Singer and it's an annual contest and unbelievably, he didn't win but he was definitely the favorite. One of the girls in this video actually won, and she is quite good, too. He sang, I believe, 14 songs in this contest and they were all amazing. His English has improved since then. He has already sung in 15 languages and speaks Russian and Kazakh fluently and is studying Mandarin and English. He has a Master's in Music Theory and is currently working on his doctorate. He is, without a doubt, the best singer on the planet. And yes, Dimash unbelievably has gotten better than this and that is mindblowing! Please keep always watching all the way until the end because you will see how humble and what a beautiful soul he is. No, his mom is a beautiful Kazakh singer, herself but she wasn't here, but his dad did surprise him and show up to this show. His lower range has certainly improved a lot recently, I think the songs he’s brought out since lockdown, shows that he used that time away from the stage wisely! He still has 3 hours of vocal lessons every day and he always says that a singer always thinks that they sound good and that it is important to get outside opinions from his vocal coaches, because it’s not always the case! Although it’s difficult to imagine that our Dimash could ever sing badly!

The lady you enquire about is Sandy Lam a singer from Hong Kong, the eventual winner of the 2017 Chinese Singer competition. Dimash, the first foreign and youngest to be allowed into the competition, finished second, and you also saw Lion Band who were third. Dimash was superb and I believe there were about 14 songs. Yes this was the tv show Singer which was a contest. There were 14 weeks and I believe this was week 7. He earned 1 st place this week and those folks were his competitors and became his friends! This was his entry to world wide fame.

There are often English subtitles on Dimash's songs. You can put that in the description when you google them, that way you can see what he's singing about (though it's hard to read and watch at the same time!). Dimash has God-given talent combined with a deep love of music and a passion for it along with 20 years of, as he said in an interview, "systematic musical training" and daily practice. When you put all that together, it gives him the ability to select exactly the expression he wants and the result is pure beauty!

That is YOUR opinion. She is not the original composer of the song Adagio and neither is she the best singer in the world. Aida Garifulina is a better singer in my opinion. Lara Fabian is overrated.

It's perfectly okay to say that he has improved over the years because it's a fact. He continues to work on his craft on a daily basis. He has said in the past that he practices a minimum of 3 hours a day, sometimes alone and sometimes with a coach or mentor. He just turned 28 in May so hopefully he still has half his career left and it will be amazing No doubt. He truly is a consummate performer.

I will say, that for this particular song, Dimash has not replicated the intensity, passion and phrasing of this performance. This is one for the history books. Totally unforgettable and I do believe, unmatchable. Adagio is the slow movement of a symphony or concerto, or a slow piece of classical music. This song is taken from the Albinoni Adagio which was composed in the 1600s. Needless to say, it is a beautiful piece and it was first made into a crossover song by the tenor Jose Carreras, back in 1995. He then had Italian lyrics set to the music. Then in 1996, Lara Fabian put English lyrics to it, and it became a huge hit for her. This is the version that Thomas sings. Note: although this adagio is attributed to Albinoni, there are some music story ends historians who say it was an incomplete piece written by another musician, which Albinoni cleaned up and trimmed, so it became his.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, … They made great covers but none of these match the storytelling amazing performance of Lara in this concert From Lara with Love. I’m looking for a song he sang ,black and white,about all of us growing old and dying, it showed people sitting singly in a church I think one of them was Dimash.. I heard it about an hour or so ago and can’t find it anywhere.
