👉 That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen. This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. Story: The clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character and his 2 friends are linked in eternal friendship through childhood stories and a symbol (necklace). One day, the friend saves the protagonist when he is drowning. However, there is already competition in this children's story as the boys are in love with the girl and she chooses 'Dimash'. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which also served as a sea compass before antiquity. Uniform wearers wear this symbol on their heads. So it can't work. The second transfers his problems, his unheard claims of ownership from childhood into the adult world and mercilessly follows his twisted ideology. By becoming President, the antagonist (Piper - in reference to the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin') carries within himself the idea of a war to save: “Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We will guide all who are ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no business with us. I choose freedom. The world is open to me and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.” The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge. However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace. A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together. "Piper" in the song, is a reference to the flutist of Hamelin, who with his flute attracts and hypnotizes mice to follow him and die, "Piper" is an analogy to his childhood friend who became the evil leader, who created a war destroying lives in search of a supposed "Union". In the end, Dimash falling into the water screams "we choose life" is a desperate cry: "There is no life in war, war is death". It is important and urgent that we leave the cave, the private bubble and realize that we are being controlled by a strange and lying narrative and start to see and observe what is outside, obtain other information and think and make decisions for ourselves. Or else we will be like sheep that meekly walk to the slaughterhouse and we follow it to die like rats. Hello sir. I believe the General was his beloved friend which dimash saved from drowning when they were kids. As time passed by, his friend became army General and betrayed Dimash. That's why they place the camera for us to see the necklace that Dimash gave him as a symbol of their friendship. He was unworthy of the loved ones, he has betrayed and Dimash looked him in the eye and end his life in the name of freedom!

To experience Dimash live is an indescribable emotional rollercoaster anyway, but with this song he creates another dimension. I was completely torn between the depth of the lyrics and the otherworldly beauty of his vocals. I cried rivers! What a composition! What a voice! What a performance! What an artist! I mentioned this elsewhere. He truly must be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. All fans /followers of Dimash he holds dear. This is why his fans are referred to as DEARS. also, having followed as many of Dimash's videos, I know that at the heart of his performances is to bring people together (again) because he does everything he can to promote harmony, peace and love. Just an idea: The necklace could be seen as a symbol of our human relationship(s) - caring, sharing, unity and ultimately love. Thinking about it real hard, this video /movie gives me a great sense of hope, and that is so much part of what this man always conveys whenever he performance. The lady giving birth was Dimash’s wife. The little girl was their child that got killed. The three original children were the three grown up main players. The boy who saved the life of Dimash was in love with the girl too so grew up jealous and hateful and became the leader. After Dimash’s death, the pendant was given to his newly born son, who grew up to lead the wanderers to turn to the light and right path. That’s my interpretation.

I agree go watch the performance of this on stage in his Almaty concert. He almost collapses as he screams those last words. Soooo many of his works are about living in peace and unconditional love together. U did well ut watch both performances again. The three friends are the 3 adults ie Dimash, n the little girl and woman were a family, the chap with the cap who started the war, is thec3rd talker boy, who was rejected by the little girl. Dimash was not part of the war mongers team . The on stage performance is fantastic. Didnt know how he cud actually petfotmmit on stage, but he did and it was magnificent!!!!

It's the story of 3 friends, the two boys are in love with the girl, but she is in love with Dimash. Dimash makes friendship necklaces with a piece of an old compass that points to the North. The friend becomes leader, the Piper in reference to "Piper of Hamelin", he will never wear the necklace around his neck, he is the one who lost the North. He points out on the map the town where Dimash and his family live. Dimash and the girl start a family, they have a little girl and they are expecting another child. When Dimash returns home, he discovers that his daughter has been killed. His wife was taken down into the cellar with other neighbors of different nationalities and religions. Dimash does not know that his wife will give birth to his son and then die in childbirth. The child wears his mother's talisman and becomes a man of peace and accompanies these men of all religions and origins. There are a lot of details and references in this film and this song but it would be too long, to understand and discover everything, you have to watch the film several times because there is a lot to capture

Hello Bruce! Thank you for your sincere reaction, you got so much of the plot right, way to go! When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😥 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony. He is a Legend and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. My interpretation: Dimash's character forms a family with the girl with the necklace, the third friend who saved him and was innocent as a child becomes corrupted and transforms into this crazy Piper (allusion to the Pied Piper of Hamelin) They are on opposite sides. The girl they murder is Dimash's daughter, while he discovers her dead his wife is giving birth to their youngest son. The mother too dies, everyone dies in the war, no one wins. In the end that baby grows up and becomes a leader of all religions, (utopian but beautiful message) he is obviously just like his father. They wanted to make the video as raw as possible because that's how war is and worse. How many children have died in the war against UKRAINE? Too many.

In The Story Of One Sky he sings the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife was also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. But it‘s funny how very few reactors realize that the soldiers shot in the arm at the beginning of the war scenes was Dimash. This song is a "modern" multicultural interfaith Requiem (the traditional Requiem is a song for the Mass of the Dead in the Catholic Church. The best known requiem is by Mozart I think). The Requiem usually has 2 parts: one mourning death and the other celebrating life. Dimash says in a low voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. (Kazakh proverb) So for me, the caravan is his (and our) inner world. Religiosity is in us, the religious man dies when a part of the soldier (Dimash) dies when he finds his daughter dead. So when he seeks revenge, there's a storm. Death follows death: Piper dies but the soldier (Dimash) dies too. Death is not the answer. And so violence is not the way (You can murder the "bad guy" but if everybody thinks that violence is an answer, another "bad guy" will appear for sure.) And then we see that his son made a better decision... His son joins others in seeking peace. That is the final answer. Hug from Brazil 😍🇧🇷

Piper is probably referred to the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The legend dates back to the Middle Ages. The earliest references describe a piper, dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing, who was a rat catcher hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe. When the citizens refuse to pay for this service as promised, he retaliates by using his instrument's magical power on their children, leading them away as he had the rats

The two boys turned against each other. The older boy was already jealous oh the other as the girl liked him better so he grew up to be the crazy piper with his followers and the other was married with the girl . He fought against the tirant. The little girl was his and she was pregnant with another baby. When he was born he wore the necklace of his father. When he grew up he led different religions as one nation. If you see his life performance you will see his absolute emotion especially at the end when he metalcreams like that.

The baby born is his son. He married the girl from the beach. The other boy (who saved Dimash from drowning) is the leader (Piper, like Pied Piper). The girl who dies was his daughter. The tribal chants is him calling all the religions, races, etc to stop hate. The son at the end takes the mantle to lead everyone to peace.

The film is open to intinterpretation and for me the middle section with different styles of religious singing signifies the internal spirituality of Dimash's character. We see the spiritual journey is a really tough one full of light and dark in the contrasting shadows and the uphill walking of people from all different spiritual philosophies. When Dimash's character returns home he finds his people murdered by the soldiers and then finds his dead daughter. Believing his wife (the little girl from the beginning) is also dead he is filled with hatred and revenge so goes to find the leader of the opposing army (the boy that saved his life). He takes his old friend's life and loses his own life too. So far two of the three grown up children are dead. We see the baby with the medallion and this signifies his wife's death during childbirth. A requiem is a Catholic mass for repose of the souls of the dead. The three children and all who were killed during the war (or for every soul ever killed in war perhaps). What an absolute masterpiece. Dimash composed the music, wrote the story, played a major part in the film, helped to direct and sang his heart out. We all feel exhausted every time we watch this. We must all turn towards the light and stand against those who lead us into war. The journey towards the light is continued in death for Dimash's character as he took another's life in revenge. Notice how the light they walk towards has dimmed and sorry to jump about but also notice how in the last verse the portrayal of the spiritual journey gets even harder, they walk against the storm in torrential rain with thunder and lightning. There's no limit to Dimash's creativity and he has such a pure heart. Your reaction was really great, thank you ❤🙏

You did great! One of the best reactions yet to this song! Honestly, we all had a lot of discussion the first time we heard it. What was decided... The mother died in childbirth. She was the protagonist's (Dimash) wife. The baby was his son, so was given the mother's necklace. The girl was his daughter. The leader was his friend from childhood, who once saved his life. Piper is a name given to leaders, who talk their people into wars with cunning words, leading to destruction.

As many have provided other pieces of information, I will simply add 2. The metal symbol on the necklace is a navigation device. Piper removes a critical element of the symbol for his uniforms and therefore goes astray. The blowing of the horn/Shofar is a Jewish symbol. When the Shofar is blown, it is a call to repent your sins, come back to the path of light so that mercy is aroused and judgement removed. I am sure you noticed that all religions are involved in walking away and refusing to be involved in the evil activities causing death, attack or defence. Piper is a reference to the old German legend about the pied piper from Hamelin (Rattenfänger von Hameln). He played the pipe and took all the children of the city with him as revenge. The analogy with the dictator is quite clear.

The woman who gave birth to the child has this symbol on her neck. She died in childbirth and passed the symbol to the child. She's the girl they were friends with in childhood. Before that, when Dima looks at the sign of their friendship, she also looks at him hugging a little girl. Who will then be killed. This is their daughter. That's why he's in such grief. A friend became a dictator and their paths diverged. They're on opposite sides. The dictator's friend has some kind of fascism, judging by the greeting. He says the war will unite them. A complex work often requires repeated careful viewing. This film is full of symbolism. From the very first seconds, we are shown frames of the cyclical nature of the story, but we will be able to understand this only after a second viewing. An obscure figure, a drowning man... Is this a young man dying on the threshold of his big life, or is this a warrior who completed his life path both for himself and for many other people? We are at the beginning of the life cycle, and the lace in the foreground unequivocally reminds us of the umbilical cord. A boy who has just drowned is ready for his second birth... Dimash's first message: we are born equal, pure, potentially good people. Children are an unwritten book in which life can fit any plot. We see three friends who, as children, are full of nobility and courage (an older boy selflessly saves his friend), a thirst for knowledge of the world and a thirst to share these discoveries. However, already at these stages, the first signs of disagreement appear: a brave boy, pumping out a friend, looks for approval from a girl with his eyes. He wants to look like a hero in her eyes. But the girl does not notice this, her heart has already been given to another, and only his fate cares about her. That's the first disappointment of life - a feat will not make you a hero. You can't expect a fair reward from people. A friend may not meet your expectations. What other disappointments will this boy know, who eventually transforms from a selfless young man into a ruthless and cynical dictator? The amulet (the arrow of the solar clock showing both time and direction) has become a symbol of different ideas in the hands of our heroes. For a couple in love, it is a symbol of unity, indicating their common path (they have become a married couple, they have a daughter and a son will be born in the final). Another boy never accepted this amulet as a symbol of friendship (he does not wear it on his chest near his heart), he bent it in a fit of rage (thus the arrow stopped pointing the right way) and used this amulet upside down as a symbol of his false inverted ideals. He became a dictator (in the lyrics of the song - a Pied Piper, who draws children to destruction with the sounds of his lying flute). Many years later we see that the Dictator unleashed a bloodbath in the name of his false ideals. Many believe that Dimash portrays the opposing side of Good to Evil. I see something else. A patch on the sleeve of Dimash's character is poked into our eyes several times: a complex interweaving of sharp corners and circles. Dimash's character is not a leader, he is an ordinary soldier who has also taken some ideological side. What do these circles and angles represent? Who stands behind Dimash's character and pushes him into battle? Maybe he's protecting his city from invasion? Apparently not! Everything points to the fact that this is a civil war, because the action takes place in their hometown. All three of them lived in this city, and now they are feuding and destroying their home. Waldenberg in this clip is the personification of the whole planet. We all live under the same sky. And in this sense, ANY WAR is a civil war, fueled by various but ALWAYS false ideas, including territorial claims. I think this is the second message of Dimash, directly following from the title of the clip. Therefore, behind the back of Dimash's character is another exactly the same Pied Piper, with complex, confusing and false ideas pushing his followers into this meat grinder. The plaque with the name of the city in Gothic script Waldenberg is a direct reference to the real German city of Waldenburg, completely destroyed by Allied troops during World War II, when there was no need at all, because by the end of the war there were mostly only women and children in this city. The one who was supposed to bring good brought evil. Dimash's third message is that war has no good sides. All participants in wars are somehow agents of evil. Is it an accident that Waldenburg translates as "The City of Waldemar"? Well, or Vladimir in the Slavic version. Both leaders of the modern confrontation are called Vladimir ... Dimash certainly sympathizes with his character, he understands what exactly drives his hero, but does not justify his actions. When his character, driven by anger, despair and revenge, comes to the Dictator for retribution, then a storm begins in a world where souls of different faiths, cultures, ethnicities, epochs who have chosen the road to light (good) have been walking along a thorny road for thousands of years of human history! Dimash's character, having killed his savior, thanks to whom he lived all these years, immediately receives karma in return and returns to the waters of nothingness, where he should have stayed many years ago. At the moment of death, the thirst for life gives him the last most powerful life lesson: acceptance of the idea of the primordial value of human life. FOR EVERYONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Even for a Dictator! Even for his daughter's murderers! This is the fourth very important message of Dimash. In a near-death epiphany, his hero sees in flashbacks the moments of his life, both bright (shots from his childhood) and unrighteous (shots of how he takes the lives of his opponents). Dimash's fifth message is to rethink your values, it's never too late to repent. It is this repentance that allows the soul of Dimash's character to transform and be reborn in the best version of himself. The waters into which our hero fell are also an allegory for amniotic fluid, an allegory of reincarnation in the body of his newborn son, who, having received such a powerful life attitude from his father, will never take up arms again and will not join any side of the conflict. The soul of a warrior sinks to the bottom of Nothingness completely. All three characters die in this story at the same time, allowing a new soul to be born, giving hope for a better future for Humanity. Dimash is a Muslim, and he does not preach the idea of reincarnation. Reincarnation here is just a metaphor necessary to convey his messages. The souls of the righteous, who once accepted the simple truth about the primary value of human life, raising their hands to the dazzling Light that flooded the horizon, meet their new follower, who joined their march towards Light and Goodness. Only when WE ALL join this stream, only then will the wars stop. Dimash wrote the music and script for this video based on his own long-standing story. Everything we see and hear is the flesh of the flesh of feelings, thoughts, ideas of Dimash. Dimash is an ancient soul.

He did come up with the concept of the MV and plugged a lot of money into it. 3 years from idea to finishing this MV. His heart and soul went into this peace. Dimash is a man of peace. Dimash is showing the real horrors of war. Some have found it upsetting about the child but this is unfortunately the reality of war. Innocents including children are killed. Even after he kills his friend he is then killed because it’s a never ending circle. Revenge just keeps it going. This is definitely about peace about choosing human life over all else

That’s such a wild story. Brilliant work by Dimash.

I apoligize if I start to ramble, but I have been up all night and lack of sleep is starting to get to me. The stage is set from the start with Dimash's charactor drowning and being saved and the necklaces being used as a symbol that forged lasting friendship/familial ties between the three children. It then shows the older boy of the trio growing up and becoming somthing along the lines of "I tell you that war and the termination of any persons or peoples that do not fall in line with this idealized form of peace must be forced to follow the "piper". Dimash's charactor than kills his friend, (leader of the group that advocates war is the only way to achieve lasting peace)., Does this not remind you of the same rhetoric used throught out history to justify waging war on others? Then, just as the second child of Dimash's character is born and his wife dies during childbirth, as well as Dimash's character dying while killing the dictator. The necklace is then passed to this child. Perhaps implying that the belief of Dimash's character regarding a lasting peece will be followed by the next gerneration. And it is at this point Dimash's character. sings the powerful lyrics of "We're choosing life", Reinforcing Dimash's belief that peace is attainable without war. 18:22 the problem with DIMASH videos is that he loves contrast. death and life, circle of life etc. what i understand is that killing warleader by dimash's character alowed his son to guide humanity to better place

Dimash gave all his pain about this topic into this song. His singing in the very end is a pure pain for all the innocent suffering people, especially kids. He is really different, he feels so purely and innocent, I don't know anyone like him. Thank you for this reaction 💜 The live version from the Almaty concert is even more heartbreaking. Thank you for watching Dimash, this world needs him 💜
