I love the 2017 The Singer performance because he was in an unknown 22 year old mystery guest on the world stage as he began to sing and I get to enjoy an especially bumper crop of goosebumps over the next three minutes as I hear him explode into the enraptured consciousnesses of half a billion listeners simultaneously. (maybe not quite that, but something close.)

I can't begin to tell you how important Dimash has become to those of us who have been following him since his first appearance on that Chinese reality show in 2017. For many of us, it's all Dimash, all the time. Thousands of us have made challenging trips from halfway around the world in order to see him live at his various concerts. The word is that he is even more amazing live than on video! One thing is for sure: Dimash is the most talented, most creative vocal performer of our time. Dimash is a 29-year-old Kasakh vocalist and composer; He speaks Kasakh, Russian and English and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He sings in more than 14 languages, plays 7 musical instruments. He graduated from the Kazakhstan University of Arts with a master's degree in composition and is completing a doctorate in musicology. He also dances, acts, and is an advertising model (he is 6.3 feet tall). He has received countless awards and honors around the world. Dimash has been professionally trained since age 5. He’s 29 as of May 24, 2023. He first entered what he called “the adult stage” when he was 22 and he had won many competitions prior to the Singer show in China. I am a singer is unlike the voice, agt, or X factor. In 2017, he was invited to compete with known Chinese singers in China. Since he was the only non Chinese, he had to go first and he sang SOS. His French was a little off, his English was a little off in 2017. This reaction was in 2018. Dimash has held many solo concerts around the world and yes, no matter how large the Arena, tickets are sold out immediately. He held a solo concert in NewYork City at the Barclays Center and his Dears (fans) from 64 countries attended that concert. If he ever has another concert in America, you should purchase your ticket immediately. He has gotten so much better and should have his Doctorate Degree now. By the way, the show I am a Singer in China, of course they gave the one and only prize to a Chinese woman who we’ve heard nothing more about her. She’s a good singer but they know Dimash won that competition. He came in 2nd place. The woman won by 0.10 points. They changed it in the 2018 competition and Jessie J from the UK won. I honestly didn’t think she was that good. Hua from China should have won. If you go back to 2017, go on Gloria Wu’s channel as she was grateful by putting English subtitles and the back story for every song Dimash sang. He wrote Unforgettable Day when he was just 18. He did a cover of Vitas song Opera 2 and he did a much better job. Vitas tried to sue Dimash but he was given permission by the producers of I am a singer so he sent a cease and desist letter so Dimash who really enjoyed his music can no longer do covers of any of his songs. At the end of the 2018 Season, the singers from 2017 were invited to participate in their finale. Dimash sang a Cover of Lionel Ritchie’s song Hello. Dimash took nothing away from that song and it’s almost like a different song but Lionel also sent a cease and desist letter to Dimash so he can never cover that song again. What I really enjoy about Dimash is the fact that he loves music worldwide and does Covers of those songs. He did a cover of Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, the original singer of Sinful Passion has passed away and he did a cover of that song. All of the members of the band are the original band members who accompanied Dimash. So many people are Covering songs of young artists and the songs are fairly new. These are the people who appear on AGT and The Voice. They put a little twist on it but it’s nothing special in my opinion. Igor Krutoy, well renowned maestro, composer and producer came out of retirement to work with Dimash. He and Dimash write new songs for him and songs that Igor wrote many years ago are sung by Lara Fabian who loves Dimash. They have sung together. Dimash has over a hundred songs that he sings at his solo concerts. It took him 3 years to write “The Story of One Sky” which is extraordinary. If you react to his live performance, react to the one he sang in Part 3 of his Almaty concert. Also on Dimash’s birthday, May 24, 2023 he wrote a song called Omir, pronounced O-mare, which shows clips of his journey since he was a toddler. He’s thanking his Dears (fans) for believing and supporting his journey. It’s beautiful. I could go on and on but I promise you that when you hear him sing many songs during his live concerts, you will be on the edge of your seat. Dimash is not an alien. I hate when people call him that. He has been trained since age 5, swims for breath control, has a beautiful and loving family that attend all of his concerts, he’s appreciative and loves his Dears (fans) because without them, he wouldn’t be where he is today. Training wasn’t easy but Dimash strives for perfection. He is just a wonderful, very humble young man who strives for perfection. I am almost 66 and have followed him since 2017. I listened to all of the singers during the 2017 Season of I am a Singer. You will get many subscribers if you delve into Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan which is Eastern Europe. They sit and listen to the singer and clap after. So there is no jumping around and half dressed women. Eastern European listeners are the total opposite to the Western culture as we have a tendency to jump up and down, we don’t listen to the singer, we dance to the band. Without a popping band on the West, I find it quite boring and many original singers can’t sing. They don’t have proper technical skills, lack mic control, strain when hitting notes, and can only sing their song the same way every time. It’s not all singers but it sure is many of them. Enjoy listening to Dimash who can sing ever genre. He has a very strong accent so you know he has to put in extra work because of his Kazakh accent. I love him and will continue listening to him. SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. There are a number of versions of Dimash singing this song, each different but all great. This song comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, nobody in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.

He doesn't just sing, he speaks on various topics at global forums, meets with politicians and diplomats, discusses matters of education with his countries ministers and travelled home from a recent political Congress aboard the presidential plane. He's extremely well educated and is treated with huge respect in every country he visits. On a recent trip to Uzbekistan, the countries Minister for Culture became his tour guide for the day.

My experience almost same about 7 years listening to DIMASH; those of us who have been following him for so long, have come to expect more from singers; when we listen to others, they all fall short of the standards we have come to expect from DIMASH. Dimash's name, translated to English, is "Gods gift" or "gift from God." no matter what you choose, I have no doubt.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) KZread channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Who is Dimash? Beginning his singing career at age 5, his range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. At age five Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first!
