Even the late Glenn Gould admitted in an interview that he loves Strauss’s music as much as he loves Bach and Beethoven!

I am still utterly stumped in disbelief as to how such a staggering work of genius in art can go almost entirely unnoticed! It truly breaks the heart 💔

It’s incredibly hard to cast, and the plot is abhorrently stupid. And the music is a little to repetitive too balance those flaws. There are better Strauss operas.
