Leonard Bernstein examines Richard Strauss' musical interpretation of the writing of Friedrich Nietzsche. The orchestra performs "Thus Spake Zarathustra", a musical tone poem about mortality and immortality, rebirth and transcendence.

Bernstein was such a Genius....thank you very much for posting this gem.....and of course the Genius Richard Strauss who composed this fantastic masterpiece .....
Bernstein became somehow eternal through his music. As long as there will be people to listen to it, there will exist a part of him through his music. Now I understand why it is said that that Bernstein in one of the musicians with the widest music understanding.

They was the target audience but it was designed specifically so that people of any background and musical education could enjoy it

His Young People’s Concert could only be enjoyed by musicians or music majors. I’ve taught Elementary Music Education for 40 years and no way could my students compare what he’s talking about.

@RatnipTX I am a young music ed major so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but I think you need to do them in order of appearance and give some explainations along the way.
