Did You Know In THE SOPRANOS…
Ойын-сауық
That actor James Gandolfini, who played Tony Soprano in the show, used an unconventional method to feign anger in the show? Tony Soprano is one of television’s most memorable characters, but he is also one of the most irritable men ever depicted on screen. It’s no wonder why, with “two” families to be mindful of - one at home and one at work - things can get pretty stressful when you’re a mob boss. James Gandolfini on the other hand could not have been further from the irritable criminal mastermind he depicted on screen and so went to some uncomfortable lengths to feign annoyance. Reportedly, Gandolfini would walk around with a stone in his shoe during takes. This uncomfortable addition to his routine would add to the annoyance displayed by Tony in certain scenes. Additionally, Gabndolfini would even go as far as to limit his sleep for scenes when Tony would wake in the morning looking tired. Now, that is some dedication to a role!

James Gandolfini gave a decade of his life in order to create one of the greatest pieces of art a group of human beings could make. The Sopranos has truly the basis for a good TV show

My fiancé and I grew up near the areas where they filmed the sopranos. He told me a story about how him and his dad were at a diner when he was little and they were filming a scene for one of the episodes in the building and the director kindly asked if everyone could not interrupt them as they were working. Everyone obliged and after they finish James gandolfini personally came in and paid for everyone’s meals as a thank you and then treated all the kids to ice cream next door. He was a true gem.

He gave us over 10 years of his life to portray the GOAT of television characters ever depicted in a series imo. Wish James was still with us. What a great actor he was.
I could for real see that, the irritability of his character embodies “What’s your problem” “I gotta rock in my shoe the fucks it to ya?” Lol
He was such a natural and the accent was so on point i truly believed that was really the way he spoke so i was shocked to hear him have a regular voice in interview. He wasn't even acting to be honest. Shit felt too real to me . Brilliant

The documentary he helped make on PTSD was phenomenal. James was a great guy.
Apparently he would get calls from unlisted numbers saying things like, "we like what you're doing. You're doing a fine job but Dons never wear shorts" So even the mob approved lol
He was a very scary looking person but apparently always had time for fans and was just a really appreciative guy.

And to think, Van Zandt was who they originally cast to be Tony. He didn’t want the pressure of being the lead role. Always felt they payed homage to that in the episode where Silvio took over while Tony was in a coma.
You know you're a phenomenal actor when 20yrs later if he was alive people would actually think he's a boss..That's how great he was, legit nobody thought of him differently than that
he was such an amazing actor and i never got to appreciate his performance before his death. i just got to watching all of sopranos recently and he was absolutely phenomenal in all six seasons

No shade to James Gandolfini, but there's a classic story from Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier. Hoffman arrived on set having pulled an all-nighter to better appear like his character, that had also been up all night. When Hoffman told Olivier this, Oliver said "My boy, why don't you just try acting?"
Dude just get to the point
