Did not expect this - Fjallraven Polar Bib Trousers

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Warm padded winter outdoor trousers for demanding trips in an Arctic climate. Made from durable G-1000 Original and G-1000 HeavyDuty and padded with Supreme Microloft. Excellent insulation and many well-thought-through details make Polar Bib the perfect reinforcement garment for expeditions and other adventures carried out in extremely cold conditions. For example, the braces are positioned so the rear section can be opened for problem-free toilet visits and the two-way full-length zippers at the sides can be used to release excess heat and facilitate putting on/taking off. Openings with zippers at the hips allow access to pockets in trousers worn underneath. There are also two large leg pockets for maps, a smaller pocket for a multitool and a little pocket at the waist - suitable for batteries as body heat will enhance their performance in cold conditions. There is also a D-ring at the waist suitable for attaching gloves, a cup, knife or water bottle. The knees are pre-shaped and the rear is made from nylon for improved pliancy. The rear, knees and inside lower legs are reinforced with G-1000 HeavyDuty. To improve visibility in the winter darkness there are reflective bands at the back and front of the lower legs. Boot hooks can be used to attach the trousers to boots, so they cannot ride up when walking in deep snow.

The Fjallraven is meant for me- durability and reliability. Design of the these Trousers I think is brilliant. Love it. However, this is the perfect example of how one small detail can spoil it all.

Thanks 🙏 Yeah quite disappointed and surprised. They’ve had this product for years and they’re using it themselves during Fjallraven Polar so I don’t know how they do it… 🤷🏻♂️
what size did you pick? how much bigger with compare with your trousers underneath? thanks Tom

This was XL, same size as all my other Fjallraven gear. They are oversized by default. You could go one up if you expect more layers.
Curious what Fjallraven will say about those snaggy zips....

I don't expect to hear from them to be honest but I'm very surprised by this. They know how to do it properly as they've done it on the Keb jacket.

Yeah - I'm not keeping them. Just borrowed to do a video :) The thing is - if you need them - there's not a lot of choice though. I had a similar problem on my Skogso jacket from Fjallraven and they were able to fix it for me. The fix is quite easy (for them) - just put a few stitches into the draft collar fabric that's snagging and it will get stiffer and will fix the problem.

Fjallraven will probably say something like: "Åke told us to make the zippers snaggy so it has more of a "legacy" feel. We believe this enhances your experience, as it gives you time to think about all the money you spent on these pants while you un-snag them!"
