Here's an idea: Lea sings every song from Les Mis! :) I agree about the intimacy of her performance. It's a very ponderous song that questions the human cost of the revolution, and Lea pierces right to that emotional core. The song could just as easily have been written for Eponine (had she not gone and gotten herself shot, silly girl). As for Lea having "nothing to prove," I think every time she performs people expect nothing less than perfection. What a burden. That mentality drove Streisand off the live stage. In sports, it has afflicted Osaka and Biles. There are always those people (critics, mostly) waiting for the mighty to fall. Lea gives them no fuel.

So on target! The ultimate artist who literally melts into the art of what she is bringing to an audience! The humility of that! And in the end, the perfection of her performance, the total art of her recreation for us of the composition! Genius presenting genius!

Nice to hear that the reason for so many weeks without Salonga Sundays was that you got back to work!

I regret that I only discovered you now guys. It's refreshing to watch reactors who really know what they're saying. Very detailed and on point and of course the honesty. I'm not really into theatre musical but there's something in your reactions and emotions that it felt magical. I love Ms. Lea. The great thing about her singing is the clarity of her voice. No need for subtitles. Her diction is incomparable that every time she's the subject you can't missed a comment saying " her diction is clearer than my future". Keep it up guys! May I request - please react to TWO videos in the same reaction video for comparison: Lea and Simon Bowman singing "Last Night of the World" in Dec 1990 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/aWd4y8WporXJqKg.html) and then Lea and Simon at her 40th anniversary concert in 2018 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/nouop7KcpJa6nNo.html). The original MISS SAIGON opened in London in 1989, so the first video would have been about a year into their run. Reminder - Lea was only 19 years old in this performance. Lea had never had a boyfriend before starting in MISS SAIGON at age 18 and her first kiss was in rehearsal with Simon. The director (Nick Hytner) had to get into the bed and show her what he wanted, but obviously they figured it all out. Lea and Simon's chemistry is undeniable - in 1990 and then 2018. (I believe they did MISS SAIGON together for a year and 3 months. Then they sang together again for the first time in at the 25th anniversary in 2014. Unfortunately, there aren't vids of Lea and Simon from that on KZread.)

I have a new appreciation for Lea with these reaction videos. We usually instinctively know she renders a good performance every time, but these analyses gives us a whole new level of appreciation for her genius. She's such a talented and intelligent performer. You should analyze her pre-Saigon performances and post-training for Saigon (but still before Saigon) performance. The change in the thickness of her voice was amazing. I think it was for a TV ad.

It would be nice to see your reaction to another beautiful song from Les miserables Bring him home. Lea Sang this on her Facebook live concert. Someone uploaded, search for Lea Salonga Bring him home Bayanihan 2. Thank you in advance. Additional info, Lea asked if she can sing broadway songs and one of the people in charge told her if she can just sing Filipino songs because it's hard to get a right over a song knowing it's international. So they were amazed when Lea told them that everything is okay, she already asked permission to all the people who have the RIGHTS for each song including the makers/lyricists/producers of Les Miserables

"ON MY OWN" will always be my favorite Le Mis song and her exemplary performance as Eponine. And, so love this song "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" depicting all the sad memories of the Revolution. When she sang it, it just brings you sadness of losing so many friends. Lea Salonga is truly an amazing story teller. Kudos to your impeccable analysis!🤗💖
