2023 marked the 40th Anniversary of Return Of The Jedi and as part of the celebration, Hasbro released several waves of figures based off of this amazing film! And in this video, I go back and quickly 'review' everything that was released this year to see whether or not Hasbro did a good job. Because there was alot of repacks with many big opportunities missed...

Never saw one single jedi retro figure in stores and they could build an oil tanker with all the unsold Landos on the shelves.
Got 5 of the Endor Rebel Commandos. Want 8 in total. Just wish they did the double back pack and more face plates…

Im just wondering why they didn't make a new mold for the Emperor. Like, he's THE villain, the mastermind of the Empire, and he's just given a lackluster rereleased figure with a head that barely even looks like him, at least in RotJ?
9:08. I share a lot of your thoughts but on this one I completely disagree. It should have been Sebastian Shaw the original Anakin. This is the 40th Anniversary of ROTJ. Not the what ever anniversary of a mid 2000’s Special Edition. I take it you are a young Millennial, and this is the version you grew up with. But it’s disrespectful and ignores the historical accuracy of the original Theatrical Release. Also they can still technically keep doing the cardbacks right into 2025. The original Kenner ROTJ run kept coming into 1985 so the 40th could still keep going.

I think Hasbro should have included swappable heads for both Shaw's Anakin as well as another for Hayden Christensen. That way it could have appealed to both the older and younger star wars fans!
Still haven't seen the second wave of the 40th, a gamestop got wave 3, but I only found chewie.
Goat is Jedi? Uhhh , the palpatine has a new cloak that has the hood stitching so it sits like all Jedi and sith cloaks with hood up doing while being soft goods , I opened the archive and rotj version together the rotj emperor is way better the head looks better too and the figure is more solid not as rubbery feeling
Return of the Jedi Is my #1 and the fact the fumbled the end of the OG trilogy is just whack. More Ewoks and they could’ve updated the scout trooper and stormtrooper. Done another pack with the Scout trooper speeder bike. Should’ve put out more imperial troopers and more variants of rebel troopers.

I agree, Return of the Jedi has so much action figure potential with the vast amount of new aliens, imperials and rebles too. I was hoping Hasbro would have been more adventurous with this anniversary...
