THE ROOOOOK. Abasov is a Gotham enjoyer, amazing
Abasov is a very likeable well spoken guy.
the way Levi conducts his interviews is soo much better than anyone else doing this, and the players seem to like the conversation more lol

It's because a chess player is interviewing chess players. Need more of this where interviewers and knowledgeable and experienced in the field of whatever their interview
I didn’t realize how cool Abasov is
Can't believe the guy in the candidates is only "the top 5 or top 10" from his country He is such a deserved wildcard

The best GMs from Azerbaijan are getting older and losing their interest and passion, that’s the main reason.
After Mamedyarov and Radjabov it is very nice to see another Azerbaijani chess player in candidates.

When I think chess GM, I think Morphy, Fischer, Alekhine... some dark, tortured genius. It seems like chess grandmasters today are so wholesome and healthy. Except for Hans Neimann of course, he's from the old evil genius chess school I think.

Even though he don't have much luck in this tournament, he added a nice color to the tournament.
Levy, you are a great interviewer! Sympathetic and Articulate, even official FIDE interviewers lack these qualities.
Abasov is obviously the smartest guy in the tournament. He’s playing at the candidates even though he took time off to go to college. Wow!
He seems really down to earth, I really like it!

@@sohumgala2422 Nijat says Alireza was pretty much 2700 four years ago. If you look 4 years ago, Alireza beat Magnus Carlsen in the banter blitz cup. Basically, there is no way in the world that Levy, around 2300, could have even been competitive with Alireza. It's like you are a high school player and you said you beat Michael Jordan when he first came into the NBA. I dont think Nijat is saying Levy is lying, but maybe it was a bit more than 4 years ago.
Man tore an ACL and still plays its tough to handle with an injury. Also he was a GM at 15 so he deserves to be there
I wasn’t sure about this guy when he qualified, but I kinda like him now. Seems like a very nice guy and has given a good fight in every game so far in the tournament.
Nijat is such a likable and soft spoken man.
Such a wholesome guy. amazing
I think I have a new favourite chess player
abasov was so smart and kind, looking forward to seeing more from him
When Abasov told Levy "We are masters in chess.." I got so hyped.

I liked this interview a lot. He seems like such a pleasant guy!
I didn't know a lot about Abasov before this tournament, and this interview and his games have been eye opening to how amazing of a person he is. I wish him nothing but the best in his entire life, what a gem!
Finally a GM who is a good talker

Very happy to see this series of interviews with the players. It makes it so much better to root for them and enjoy their games once you can associate their personalities with their names. Nidat was just a name to me before this but now I am genuinely intrigued to follow him more after seeing how pleasing and likeable he is in real life. Kudos to Levy for continuing to bring top level chess content to us.

Great interview. While Abasov has had some tough losses, I've been a great fan of his games. His Queen endgame with Gukesh was amazing.
GM Nijat is so sweet and adorable so i followed his IG lol
Levy is such a humble person, its just fantastic that he does so well...
I’m rooting for him but he needs some more experience in high level competitions his opponents are veterans of events like these. Love from Turkiye!
very cool guy this Nijat, rooting for him to win some games
My man Levy representing all the way..... Respect bro
immensely likable plus a sense of humor on par plus English is so good.. no wonder, Levi will make anybody likable plus...
He gives strong Aronian energy, very chill guy
what a great guy he is
I don't know if he'll succeed as a candidate but I suspect he'll succeed as a person. He seems like a very well rounded person (unlike Magnus or Nepo).

Nihat is still young, I’m pretty sure he’ll have time to improve himself
After Fabi and Nepo, I've liked this the most compared to Levy's interviews with the other candidates
Amazing guy ❤
all the respect to him after 10 rounds fighting those monsters. Almost beating Hikaru, defending against Nepo. Would be awesome to see him win one game
Good luck with Nepo ❤
Loved this guy
1:41 Nijat also is the fan of THE ROOK!!!
For everyone is like "he is so chill", remember that edibles are legal in Canada
Damn. He torn his ACL and recovery is still ongoing
Underdog competitors don't get the respect they deserve, but good on Levy to do this interview with Nijat. He qualified under Magnus' withdrawal, I get it, but he held his own with some good draws. He doesn't need to win to impress anyone, here. Even if he keeps drawing, it's a decent payday :)
Why are we still getting amazed at how calm and mature these guys are? Are we expecting professional chess players to be immature and flamboyant?

Nice guy!
I'm def a nijat fan lol love this guy
To be able to prep for and play in the candidates in his condition is very hard and personally for me ... very sad to see. Just for once think that it is your once in a lifetime oppurtunity and it was met with such utter unluckiness, it's really heartbreaking, tournament ruining much. As if his leg's condition wasn't enough, FIDE surely would have gone above and beyond in inspecting him especially, because rumors about him were circulating in the air, which consequently must have caused even more distress, discomfort and psychological pain, maybe even physical pain to him. I wholeheartedly wish that he scores well in his first candidates tournament, and if not him, at least his subordinate player Salimova Nurgyul does, so we would see the smile on his face widen. Love you Abasov!
Abasov is the Man of The Tournament !
