In my opinion this is one of many reasons why the mob vote shouldn’t take place on Twitter due to the toxic nature of the platform, I’m surprised the poll hasn’t been put on the official Minecraft website. Probably wouldn’t make a difference though since it wouldn’t change anything.

Kids should know that the mob vote happens once a year, and the ones that are lost are lost forever. I actually was so annoyed by this that I deleted the glow squid texture.

My biggest issue with mob votes is that there is never enough information about the mobs, so we effectively make uninformed decisions and end up with situations like the Phantom. That said, overall the Phantom and the Glow Squid aren’t that problematic in-game, but if we had more info about them, we might have picked a different, perhaps better, option. With OptiFine, the Glow Squid is much cooler, due to dynamic lights, but obviously not everyone has or can have OptiFine. But even with OptiFine, its drops can’t do very much. Not every mob and its drops have to helpful for players trying to survive, but we got this whole mob and the only thing its drop does is make signs and item frames super bright. If the glow ink sac could, for example, turn signs and item frames into low-level light sources as well as retaining their current features, Glow Squids might be more enjoyable to find. It’s features like these that we aren’t told about in the votes, if they’re even going to be in the game, and I feel like it seriously detracts from the mob votes.

Mojang also shoujdnt put mobs for different people here. In this Vote Mojang had: 1 Mob for the more overall exploring and fighting players. 1 Mob for Farming players. 1 Mob for players who like Ambience. THIS IS AWFUL. Cause each option only appeals to the oerson who votes for it and doesn't add anything to the other types of players. It's like if a grocery store had a vote and now only sold food for people on a Keto Diet. It's stupid. I get that adding in more mobs is difficult. But here is an idea. Instead of having one 3 way Mob Vote. We get three 2 way Mob Votes. In this instance it would be, Iceoooger Vs ??? Honey Cow Vs ??? Glow Squid Vs ??? It would even Allow Mojang to bring back older ideas that didnt make it in Mob Votes. And just works overall as a better system. Since it better allows each part of the community to come to a consensus on what they want. Without having to step on the toes of the other 2/3rds to do it.

I’m worried this is going to happen with the Allay. In the original mob vote video, it wasn’t made clear that the mob will only pick up already-existing items for you, and many people came to the conclusion that it would dupe items for you instead, making it easy to get a lot of diamonds and netherite etc. So I’m a bit worried that when the Allay does come out, Mojang will face backlash from the people who thought it could duplicate items

honestly with how the glowsquid was presented in the mob vote i actually thought it was gonna be pretty cool and would be capable of 'hypnotising' the player to drown, similar to subnautica's mesmer but no, it's literally a squid with a bright texture that doesn't even have a dynamic light source. a massive waste of a mob vote.

I think another big topic is Dream's strategy of attempting to sway. Him using ad hominems and a VERY brash tone is the biggest reason why he mightve been the target. From the tweets, Captain Sparklez brought up "opening the moo blooms with open arms" while Dream tried convincing moo blooms with saying iceoligers are idiots. Sparklez, even when being a little unfair to Moo blooms and Glow squids, did at least give a reason why he thought his vote was most interesting.

I voted the glow squid because of first off an overreaction from the phantom. I was put off from hostile mobs and worried about them being the same level of annoying. This was an overreaction but it was an influencing factor. The second reason was naivety. I believed that glow squids could be a moving light source. I had no knowledge of dynamic lighting so I believed they could be used for some really cool tech, and I learned I was wrong later. The last reason was I liked aquariums and found the glow squid kinda nice looking. That last one is the only legitimate reason that really wasn’t a flawed thought.

I remember while watching the Livestream during the mob vote on KZread dream went in the live comments and typed VOTE GLOW SQUID. So dream was not only promoting his opinion vote on Twitter, he also did it on the Livestream. Which No other creator did but him.

My opinion on Dream, having watched a few of his videos during his rise to popularity, and also having some experience with the "stan" community (or at least, earlier versions of it on tumblr) is that while he's not malicious, he is irresponsible. Dream has a large group of young, devoted followers on his hands. And that is a very dangerous thing, because these are children. Children, who don't know how to not take things they care about seriously, who don't know the difference between a fake feud between creators and legitimate animosity, who will take anything he says at face value and not think twice about doing whatever he asks. You can't expect kids to get nuance, or to not take things out of context, or understand that roleplay is separate from reality, or to take things as a joke when it's not painfully obvious. Now, Dream is far from the only one with a community like this; Minecraft creators are especially prone to it, considering the nature of Minecraft as a game marketed primarily to children. And I don't agree with holding a content creator wholly responsible for the actions of their fanbase. However, fanbases like Dreams require careful management. You have to be responsible about what you say and how you say it, you have to stay on top of the community to shut down toxic behavior before it gets out of hand. As an example, one could look at the recent Empires SMP on KZread. It's a roleplay-heavy server, and when peoples' fans started to get upset with other creators for what they did on the server, the various members each addressed the issue with their own communities, making it clear that they're all adults and friends who have consented to what's happening beforehand. This helped keep things relatively friendly in the community. Dream... Doesn't do this. He doesn't seem to address rashes of toxic behavior in his fanbase, and when he does it's long after the fact and far too late to do anything about it. He often makes inflammatory and aggressive statements (as noted in your video, on his initial response to the cancel dream hashtag) without stopping to think what kind of reaction that could incur. Sure, he'll often apologize afterwards, but frankly, when you have a community of rabid preteens ready to send death threats on your behalf, apologies aren't good enough. Dream needs to take a more proactive role in his community, and stop deflecting all blame.

Sparklez provided logical reasonings for why the chillager was the best mob and tried to convince people without the use of hurtful language. Dream provided no real reasonings for the glow squid and used toxic language to make people feel ashamed or of less worth if they voted for the chillager, and due to the nature of Twitter, toxicity always wins. It would have been a landslide win for the chillagers if there was no social media influence.

As someone who doesn't really know or care about Dream, I think the issue was mostly his attitude. People were like genuinely trying to explain why they thought one mob was better, and then he'd just pop in spamming VOTE GLOW SQUID basically cancelling out any discussion. Then afterwards, immediately shifted blame. He coulda said right from the beginning 'hey guys im sorry that my campaign ended up being more annoying than I intended, and I wasn't trying to force people to vote glowsquid, I just wanted to meme a bit' or something

Yes! It's ok to listen to a variety of sources (and you should!), but ultimately, everyone should make their own decision

I think the hatred escallated as the actual mob was released. First, the announcement that dynamic lighting wasn't gonna be a thing was extremely weak compared to the thousands of tweets the KZreadrs got. Also, the trailer mentioned some sort of mesmerizing effect, hallucinating jeb_ and Agnes. It didn't get added. It it were added, the underwater caves would've been a bit more challenging as the only threat we have in aquifers are occasional zombies who got into the waters.

@@gmalamat1393 Yeah, the glowy signs did improve the visibility of the text for sure, and the item frame was a good addition to map making, but still, the possibilities were very limited, and the hype for that item died died really quick. Anyways, I still think that dynamic lighting should've been the trait for glow squids, and Optifine proves my point. If they were to never add dynamic lighting in the first place, they shouldn't have even mentioned it as a candidate. The muddy pig was the most iconic mob of Minecraft Earth, followed by the cluckshroom.

It aggravates me because HE voted for a mob that he didn’t give a rats ass about as a joke. And thought aggressively tweeting for people to vote for this mob and even put out the “I’ll follow you trick”. And he didn’t think his fan base who have made literal death threats to people for not liking his content would be serious about voting for the mob. So in my opinion I think he rigged the shit out of it, but I also think he was not the only one so I still blame him. But not ONLY him.

I still call that sinful thing the Dream squid, have command blocks teleporting them into the void, and a data pack that replaces the glowninc sac in recipes with glow stone dust, ya know...something else that GLOWS. Of course, I with a Mojang account could not vote for a game I play because I don't have a Twitter account that is completely unrelated to the game in question.

It didn’t matter whether or not he cheated or didn’t cheat, it’s his fans that flamed anyone who disagreed with Dream who are the problem, the people who flame those people are equally bad too.

Not only did Dream affect the vote, he did so as a joke for a mob he didn't even want. I genuinely despise him as a person for this single action 10X more than any cheating scandal ever could.

Just want to say, the annoying part is that Dream said he literally doesn’t care who won. I feel like the Ice Villager would have been a legitimately nice addition to the game and add to the experience. The Glow Squid is nothing except a reskin. And sure, MAYBE the other two mobs will be added down the line, but God knows when. For Dream, it was a joke, but for others, they had good reason to support the other mobs and Dream, for lack of a better word, ruined it.

I wanted the moobloom, I love making big flower gardens and it would have been nice to have a moobloom wandering in said garden. The glow squid should have been disqualified beacuse of dreams bullshit. The iceologer is bad, but better then the damn squid..

Okay, so me and my friend were texting each other at the time of the vote. From this conversation, there is some additional and interesting data to look at. This is the timeline as evidenced from our conversation and screenshots that we showed (My times are in GMT): 17:31 - Dream has tweeted "vote g l o w s q u i d #MinecraftLive", before the vote has even started. This tweet is visible in a screenshot taken at the start of the vote, and says "8m ago". 17:39 - The vote begins with Round 1. 17:40 - The Glow Squid is already in the lead, as I express shock in the fact. 17:41 - With 177,985 votes and 18 minutes to go, Moobloom is at 26.9%, Iceologer at 35.7%, Glow Squid at 37.5%. This is evidenced by a screenshot. Glow Squid is in the lead by 1.8%. Still, I am saying I think Iceologer will win. 17:42 - I comment that the gap between Iceologer and Glow Squid is closing. 17:43 - Glow Squid and Iceologer are EVEN, at 36.3% each. 17:44 - Dream posts his infamous follow tweet. 17:45 - I comment that Glow Squid has taken the lead again. 17:46 - I comment that the Iceologer has "really receeded behind Glow Squid", so the Glow Squid has really pulled ahead. For the first time, I actually suspect the Glow Squid could win. 17:47 - My friend comments the Iceologer is "Down even further" Unfortunately this is all we wrote about round 1 of the mob vote, but the clear trend is that since 17:45, Glow Squid has taken the lead again and is getting further and further into the lead. 17:59 - Round 1 ends, Iceologer 34.8%, Glow Squid 36.9%. 18:11 - Round 2 begins. Immediately, the Glow Squid is ahead considerably. 18:13 - Iceologer/Glow Squid is 46 / 54. Glow Squid has clearly stormed ahead at the start. 18:14 - Iceologer/Glow Squid is now 47.5 / 52.5. Very close to the final result actually. 18:16 - Vote is now 47.6 / 52.4. 18:18 - The vote is now on what will go on to become the final result, 47.3 / 52.7. 18:20 - It is still 47.3 / 52.7. At this point I accept Glow Squid has almost certainly won. Knowing the Glow Squid has won, I turn my attention away from the vote as they have started revealing more C&C features. My attention turns to that and I don't talk about the vote again until it is over. As we see here, in round 1, Glow Squid had the edge from the beginning. It is worth noting that Dream was already tweeting by then. But then a few minutes into the poll, the GS and Iceologer actually broke even. But this was literally RIGHT before Dream tweeted that follow tweet. As soon as that was tweeted, the Glow Squid pulled straight ahead again. Now, this is a correlation, but what even I can never know was that if this was CAUSATION. We cannot know if Dream's follow tweet is what caused Glow Squid to gain traction, but from this, I can see that Glow Squid did indeed pull ahead again in the minutes after Dream tweeted that tweet about following anyone who votes Glow Squid. By round 2, it's clear the Glow Squid was going to win.

you are very correct correlation does not equal causation so without doing some statistical mumbo jumbo (lol) it's hard to tell if that move ahead was because of the tweet or because of the new voters for either the iceologer or the glow squid seeing as the moobloom lost those voters who wanted a say in the following round needed to vote for a new mob.

however if you half the voters for the moobloom (28.3%) and add each half (14.2%) to the remaining mobs at the end of round 1 you would get Iceologer: 49% and glow squid: 51.1% stats would need to be done to figure out how many people to change the percentage up or down to know more information on making an educated guess, but we can't know and that part bugs me i love stats and i wish there was some way to measure dreams effect with the info we have but there isn't unless a survey was done to find out why people voted the way they did and if dream had anything to do with that vote. i think he is a jerk so that's why i don't like him the proof of that is his attitude and his cheating.

​@@feintexp-2530popular theory was that he wanted to keep the speed game the same through the update so didn't want an extra hostile mob added. This was before his cheating happened

My theory is that there are two types of people; 1. People who play the game and vote for what they want to see. 2. The people who don't play but partisipate in the vote because their favorite creator said to. This may have swayed the vote becuase in my head the number of people using youtube and/or twitter, but not having minecraft and still voting would easly out number thwe number of people playing minecraft AND partisipating in the vote.

Personally I'm glad we got Glow Squid. I'm not against Chillager being added later, but we have so many villager variants and so little aquatic life, whenever we get an aquatic mob in the vote, I'm voting aquatic, good or bad, until there is at least a nice bit of diversity with aquatic creatures. Still waiting on Stingrays or Crabs.

Total: 4 Aquatic mobs: Squid, Cod, Salmon, all variants of Tropical Fish, Pufferfish, Dolphin, Turtle, Axolotl, Glow Squid, Guardian, Elder Guardian. Total: 11. So... a lot of Illagers but so little aquatic life huh

i feel like having a glowing dye involve glowstone dust would make it rather tedious to try and get the dye, and wouldn't feel fitting. glowstone dust is already used for glowstone and brewing. (also the iceologer is really annoying, trust me i played the creeping winter dlc. it's the second worst mob of by far the worst dlc)

@@Helio_Asou many of the aquatic mobs like turtles, squids, and dolphins are quite forgettable to most players, and the 4 different types of fish blend together a lot to the point i'm surprised they're not all grouped together into just a "fish" mob with unique biome variants. additionally, ocean monuments are very shallow features that reek of mojang's old, pre-1.13 design principles, or lack thereof, so guardians and elder guardians are often ignored. i do agree with you that there should be a few more illager mobs, but i definitely think more diverse aquatic life especially outside the oceans is more important.

Iceologer and hovering inferno would cause a MASSIVE change in the mapmaking community, bro, it would be so, so better!!

I still remember this historical moment with my very own eyes. It was midnight (I live i the east), I was spending time with my parents in their apartment, and I remember sitting on my bed, excited for Minecraft live. When the mob vote came, I was so desperate for the Iceologer to win. When it ended, I came out of my bedroom, disappointed and completely frustrated. I will truly remember that always.

I remember this so vividly, to be fair this mob vote wasn't the best compared to 2021. The influencers promoting mobs I feel was mostly innocent, community engagement and features they genuinely wanted in the game, except for Dream, he openly admitted he was doing it out of spite (regardless of opinions on the glow squid or if he unfairly swayed it) and did some rather underhanded tactics to do so, so yeah, at least he learned his lesson, though there was a rather tense period before Minecon 2021 until he finally backed off.

There's so much missing potential with the glow squid. To have maybe a rare variant of the squid that is hostile and locks your camera so you can't look away and maybe that would cause you too move.

Mojang has not done a great job keeping the mob vote reveals centered on things that will actually be a part of what we get, which helps make the entire affair extraneous and useless. It happened again with this year's vote, with people misinterpreting things in the video, like the bee armor in the background of the copper golem's video for no good reason, and then thinking somehow that the allay was an item duper (as if Mojang would deliberately add a general item dupe to Minecraft...) - Anyone who thought the glowsquid might've had a dangerous mesmerizing effect on the player was totally justified, because that's what they unwittingly depicted in the video.

I don't know about that, it seems really annoying and intrusive. I do agree though that there's missed potential with the glow squid, but more in the glow ink sac item than the actual squid itself. Emissive textures and the ability to use and even manipulate them in vanilla would be incredibly useful in builds, especially now when everyone's building cave houses where lighting is much more complex and large dark areas with smaller spots of light in them often enhance builds. But we only got to use the glow ink for signs that don't let you make cool designs out of the textures and item frames that half the time don't even look glowy because the entity shading on them is messed up.

If the Glow squid only just won with all that support then imagine if no one tweeted anything, iceologer would have won easily, I feel like thats a better way of look at it than saying none of tweets matter just because the moobloom data doesnt match up, dream and tubbo have overlapping followers and theyre more likely to go with what dream says even if they like both tweets. At the end of the day no one should have tweeted at all, they know their influence, Xisuma did it the right way making a video about each and talking about pros and cons for both, he still gave his opinion on what he would vote for but doesn't rally anyone to do the same

Do disagree on one front I honestly believe the vote would have been very close if not identical outcome wise. Moobloom never stood a chance, that wasn't dreams doing that was just logic. Moobloom voters would have a large majority creative players and peaceful players, technical players and casual players. None of which would want a agressive dangerous mountain mob, atleast the squid would look good in an aquarium for the builders. If anything I'd argue that some who may have chose glow squid in second round may have voted iceolager specifically to avoid dreams "rigging" Now I'm not saying glow squid was a definite victory, I certainly think iceolager stood a good chance and it likely would have been near 50/50 but dream (atleast in my opinion) didn't make that much of a difference (still doesn't mean he did the right thing though) No hate, just thought I'd get my views out there and play devils advocate.

We don't know anything about the other 2 other than what was said in the videos and based on how misspeaking glow squids was I doubt the others would have been any better. The problem is that we can never know how good or bad the other 2 would have been.

In both rounds, it was a close call for the mobs. If no creator would have tweeted anything about the mobs, I am sure the result would have been totally different.

The only thing I like about the glow squid is how it’s ink sacs make signs glow. But I guarantee that would’ve been added in a later update (Maybe if you combined blaze powder with an ink sac). The Chilliger will always be my 2020 mob vote.

Dream somehow didn't understand that by him being the BIGGEST minecraft creator he has quite the fan base to follow in his footsteps for voting

Imo I think this was also somewhat Mojangs fault. Each mob was very different, with one being Hostile and the other two being Passive. Not to mention each video on the mob was presented very differently. The chillager was one we had the most info on not only thru the video but also cause it was in another game, Minecraft Dungeons. The Glow Squid was the opposite though as in Minecraft Earth it was just a re-textured squid the player could collect and the video gave little and somewhat misleading info as many believed you’d be able to hypnotize others. Because of this the most known about and the most mysterious mobs made it to the end. Compare that to this years mob vote where all the three mobs are “companion mobs” and each video tells us exactly what they do with one going towards the darkness, one going to collect items, and one pressing copper buttons. The videos where a lot clearer and more precise on what they do while still leaving a lot to the imagination.

I disagree with this year voting being better. The Allay video was just as misleading as the glow squid video. Many people (including myself initially) thought upon seeing video that the Allay's mechanic was some kind of item duplication, to the point that the developers had to explain on Twitter what it ACTUALLY did. I'd also argue that it was explained what the three mobs did, but not how they worked. The Glare and the Copper Golem's functions were simple enough that it didn't really matter, but the Allay's function is more complex and I feel that more details should have been given.

@@borico62 I also thought at first that the Allay was a duplicator, and decided to have my vote on it. When I heard it wont duplicate, only gather dropped items, i remained firm on Allay. But I switched to Copper Boi cause he was a brand new golem, we never had any new golem mobs since 1.2. Despite that, I promised myself if Allay won instead of Copper BoI, I wouldnt hold a grudge and be upset, cause I knew the Allay was the superior choice, but I voted Copper Boi in the end cause I wanted another golem.

I don't think people disliked the "vote rigging" Dream made, but his attitude towards the mob vote itself. He immediately said other cc were making the same thing, when in reality many of them were either suggesting a mob or talking about "what would be the best option", while Dream explicitly told his fans to just vote for the squid and even making that infamous "following people" statement. His fans are like a cult, and he IS aware of that, but his response for that is telling everyone he was "just joking" and blame everyone else. So yeah, he wasn't precisely a saint, and although the hatred for him isn't entirely justified, I can understand why it took off so quickly.

The thing is, the Iceologer didn't have the voice support, but rather the actual players invested voting for it, where as Moobloom and Glow Squid have loud voices, but Moobloom comes out 3rd, and Glow Squid being a close race against the voiceless Iceologer

I think they should stop the mob votes, with how many people get left disappointed, not even because any twitter drama, but because the mobs themselves arent exactly great

Yeah the mobs in the votes haven't even been that interesting ever since the one with the phantom and the other big hostile mobs :/ at least the allay is better than the glow squid though that's not saying much since the glow squid is one of the worst possible mobs since it doesn't even do what it's name says it will do...

Imo if Minecraft really needed to do a mob vote, they shouldn't make it so that you choose whatever gets to be in the game and the others get scrapped; they should make it so that the community can choose which mob should be added first, second, third.

I can't believe how intense this was, it was the piss cow, the glow squid and the iceolager..

It’s insane to me that the glow in the dark squid was picked over a new mob that uses ice magic and a new cow that interacts with the environment

The data does suggest that, in a vacuum with no influencer involvment, Iceologer PROBABLY would have edged out a narrow victory

"it's all in good fun" but continues to call anyone who didn't vote for glow squid a "loser". I agree with other sentiment that Dream is irresponsible and immature as are many members of his fan base. These are the type of people that give gaming a bad reputation for a myriad of reasons. RGN's effort to come to an amicable understanding of the entire situation will only bolster future efforts from Dream and or Dream-like content creators to further interfere in future votes. The most infuriating thing about it is that in the end, he just confirms how inconsiderate he really is by admitting he did it for a laugh. He didn't even care who won or what happened, but he did it because he could. He took what was meant to be a fun fair event that requires fan participation to further develop a beloved video game the way THEY want it to develop and trivialized it because he thought it would be funny. His actions regardless of the intent were still deliberate. He didn't just "tweeted to VOTE SQUID" he provided an incentive to undermine the entire process. Had he said nothing more than "vote squid" over and over again there would have been no problem. Whether or not he made good on his promise for incentive is a moot point because he still added that factor to the decision making of the people who voted.

This is what bothers me about Dream the most, even if he didn't rig the vote the fact that his followup response was "it was funny to me so who cares" just shows how immature he is. He has no sense of responsibility with his audience and influence. I get that he's just some kid who became famous overnight but that doesn't excuse his actions.

Honestly it would be cool if they'd add all 3 new mobs instead of having people vote. Sure, it's nice from a community engagement perspective, but it's sad to miss out on potential content and to see people being mad about their favorite not getting chosen

Game design is rarely that easy. If they were to stop the votes, it’s more likely that Mojang would decide which one got in themselves

I think Minecraft should do an official version of what the Minecraft origin realms server does: before a mob vote, add all candidates to the game so people can test them out and then make an educated choice.

I think you need to look at peoples options before Dream’s interaction. Because it looked to me like the glow squid was dead last. Personally I wanted moobloom but I was sure it would lose to the ice guy.

I remember that day when the glow squid won. I wish the moo bloom would've won. That would have been so cute!

The moobloom losing was such a devastating moment geniunely the start of my villain origin story

i have a personal distaste for Glow Squids because they keep on spawning and clog up my spider dungeon farm since it has water in it, and i always have to manually break into it to get rid of them.

I'm of the opinion that Mojang doesn't do these votes as a genuine way to get player input, as much as they are a way to essentially "force" people into watching MC Live/Earth. That's the only reason I can think of for not implementing a more practical voting system in the game client or launcher for a week or so like other games (runescape, TF2 in the heavy vs. pyro vote, ect.) do. It also doesn't help that descriptions of the options at times can be vague.

to me the big issue with them is that the votes are easily swayed by popular figures,ultimately the goal of a vote is to allow each person to give HIS OR HER thoughts on the topic not some influencers thoughts on it who was so famous most of the crowd followed them. Sure it is possible that those people would go with it anyway regardless of influence but they wont likely think critically on what will be the most beneficial/fun/productive choice if they are influenced.

I remember that vote, and a java player suggested had suggested glow squid because they thought they might drop glow dust. This really highlights why explaining the pros and cons of a new mob up front is really important. And I think they did a reasonable job of that in the latest mob vote. It's not just about what the mobs are, but what the mobs do for the player.

The worst part is all of this is that we got the objectively worst mob out of the whole thing. (Though if you like the glow squid, that’s cool)

As someone who wasn't there for the vote it's good to see someone going in depth on what actually happened, I thought it was just dream telling people to vote

I have a personal feeling that Mojang's vague descriptions and mild suggestions to what each mob may do in the game was a pretty big oversight on their part and lead to some of the ensuing drama. For an example, I myself was looking forward to learning about and interacting with the mob hypnosis that the glow squids were seemingly going to posses as they showed in the mob preview.. however that never came. Looking forward, though, it seems that Mojang actually realized this to a degree, and they explained each of the mobs abilities in the latest mob vote from this year (Allay, Glare, and Copper Golem)

I think the type of support matters. Dream was very supportive of the glow squid and, while he made it a joke, his joke was based on reality. Tommy made the MooBloom a joke, but by calling it a Piss Cow really made it seem like he didn't take it serious and was there to troll.

I feel like if Dream responded with his last tweet first he would of gotten less heat, the fact he tried joking about it first didn't go to well with the people

Honestly tho I thought that the Glow Squid was going to hypnotize the mobs and it would've been a way to populate the deep sea areas not because of dream but I didn't actually partake in the poll but still

The problem is they are trying to make jokes and tell a story when they should be telling us actual information. If they actually want to do something informative and entertaining, make the mob showcase a nature documentary that would be interesting and more informative, and please spend more than 2 minutes on each mob, if they really need release the short videos as introductions to the mobs and short summaries.

I still think the squid is unimpressive, although the glow ink on signs is very nice, and almost makes up for it

The Moobloom was widely requested to be added to the game from the _second_ it was added to Minecraft Earth. No one cared even a little bit for the Iceologer or Glow Squid until the vote. The Moobloom would've come with the "buttercup" flower. Real-life buttercups are not only deadly poisons if ingested, just touching it can cause irritation to the skin. They would've had a unique friendly relationship with Bees. This would be the first-ever friendly relationship between two mobs in the entire game, opening the door for more in the future. The addition of the Moobloom would also impact the lore, adding to the pre-existent connection between cows and flowers, flowers and potions, and parasites like the ones plaguing Mooshrooms. It'd also bring more attention to the underappreciated Flower Forest biome. And these are just the things we _know_ would happen- All the other mobs were liked on the basis of things that people thought COULD be added, despite no implication to them being the case- I could list a myriad of things that _could've_ been added along with the Moobloom, such as it spawning in Lush Caves (introducing an underground food source) or it being accompanied by the Moolip (a pink-daisy variant of the Moobloom) and more. The Iceologer may have been a cool (no pun intended) obstacle, but the Glow Squid was very obviously the objectively worst option, just there fill space.

These tweets sound as though the Glow Squid took over Dream's mind and granted itself existence. Also, Sparklez was right, the Iceologer would've been a welcome addition.

I personally think that creators should keep there opinions to themselves as fans of them will just ruin the vote for everyone because the fans will just want to make them happy. I really hope they don’t ruin this years vote.

I voted for the glow squid without even knowing Dream was backing it. I thought (and still think) it’s a beautiful mob, and that would be diminished somewhat if it gave out light. The iceoleger would have just made mountains a real pain and the moobloom was fine but flower forests are in need of extra life less than oceans.

There should be advertising moratorium so that you aren't influenced. I decided from the 3 mojang vids what to vote, I personally think that everyone should follow their guts and vote what THEY want and not get influenced, political voting is similar, you vote the party you want to win because what they present is what is appealing to you, not because some random person with a few million followers said you should do something. Think for your self.

I think that would be awesome! Unfortunately, it's just not enforceable. Even if it isn't done with malicious intent, it's tough for content creators to say nothing. After all, I made my thoughts known on the 2021 vote, so I've done it myself. However, there is definitely a fine line between support and manipulation, and it's tough to know where you fall.

I think that a smart thing for Mojang to do would be a form of “Influencer enforcement”. By this, I mean don’t mean that people like Dream don’t get a voice. Every one should be able to voice their opinion. What I mean is that influencers cannot *bribe* people with followers. I like Captain Sparklz’s approach, he made a point on twitter, an argument for and against. What Dream did was something else, he started by nominating the Glow Squid which was fine, towards the end he practically flooded the system with bribes. A more extreme view of that vote would be that he ending up corrupting the system.

I hate the glow squid so much, that I will immediately kill it when I see it. No matter if that I would need to jump down to a ravine, you know I am killing that thing

I am a person who don't stick to community. Only one thing I wanna say is: Glow Squid is not very useful. I still prefer Iceologer to the others and have a COOL adventure. But I saw someone mentioned that Iceologer will be the next Phantom to annoy players. Then we couldn't see any aggressive mob in the last vote. I feel little unfair about that.

This mob vote is partially why I cannot stand Dream,Dream SMP and Dream Stans. I have nothing against those who voted for Glow Squids by their own choice but it irks me that Dream and his Stans had to vote for literally the worst mob out of three

I will sacrifice every glowsquid in existence in hopes of bringing the iceologer back to the mob votes and eventually earn its long-overdue win.

i just imagined you in an epic minecraft animation montage running slashing caving slashing par core slashing then dragging the parts of the glowsquid with you back to your base with glowing track marks following you then your back to the camera while you're in front of a crafting table hacking sounds buzzing sounds lights flashing and then FINALLY you turn around and there is a frakeniceologer on the bed next to the crafting table and thunder and lightening charge the house's copper lightening rod sending a charge directly to him and he slowly gets up as you laugh crazily LMAO! i need to go to bed i may need sleep lol
