It's a fabulous piece of song writing, but the most fabulous part about it will probably be lost on most people: 2:43 - 2:57. A chromatic modulation, within a 'pop song' is, as far as I know, unique. And that it's done in such a short time-frame makes me think it was needed to make sure the following modulations upward would be possible to sing properly.

Should have been a much bigger hit..I bought it on vinyl day it came out ..Diana Ross singing,bee gees composing ..ticks all the boxes, amazing hooks and incredible song making

Was a massive smash hit in the UK though staying at No 1 for 3 weeks I think. Yet another masterclass in pop perfection from the Brothers Gibb. A bona fide 80s pop classic!!

I was 8yrs old when I dicovered the Supremes and Diana Ross our parents always had the radio blaring in the car . Now 66 and still listening to her ❤

I hated this song for so long. I've loved it in recent years because it reminds me of one of the best periods of my life.

Just love this. My daughter when she was younger used to copy the Diana Ross sassy walk wearing the fur coat. When all my school mates were either Beatles or Rolling Stones fans,I was just mad on the Supremes and Motown still a fan

The video is iconic. It was set in the 60's, when Diana was in her pomp. Written by a 70's legend...released in the 80s. Only Diana could get away with such "divaness" in this video!

Such an amazing song. I was so blessed to have this as part of the soundtrack of my life in the 1980s. I am so grateful to Diane Ross and band for bringing this creativity and brilliant art😍 to my life.

I didn't like it when it was originally released, now it brings back fantastic memories of the great time I was having aged 17 in 1986 and the people I shared those times with. I now absolutely love it.

This video is utterly FABULOUS!! You can’t get any better than Ms. Ross!

Everything the Bee Gees touch turns gold ! What's amazing, is that this now 'classic track' (by the way, it's a musical reworking and reconstruction of the melody of 'Where did our love go', by the Supremes) only stalled at n.85 in the Billboard US charts, and 95 at the Hot 100...... while reaching n.1!! for 3 weeks in the UK (March 1986). Re-released in the UK in 1993, it made an honorable n.20 for another 3 weeks (late October).... Unbelievable. Happened the same thing years before for the "River deep, mountain high" by Ike & Tina Turner - their track flopped in the US and was hugely acclaimed in the UK, and charted !!

Love the Bee Gees, love Diana.

The way she walks with that fur coat is confidence personified.

My favorite song of Diana Ross. 1985, very good memories.

GREAT GREAT GREAT SONG ! I know this song for many years but I've just bought the CD album, and it rocks !

Memorable song, the crescendo is fantastic!

One of my favourite tunes of the 80s.

It's astonishing how much better Diana looks in the monochrome sequence than the colour sequences. They should have run with the TV show idea throughout ... gorgeous dancing by Miss Ross.

What do you get when two legends come together ..... Bee Gees V Diana Ross you get the even legendary "Chain reaction" when this came out in 1986 I knew it was an instant classic 🙂 .... Saw the legendary Diana perform it @ 3 Arena Dublin '22 as part of her "Thank you" tour classic stuff indeed 😎🍺.

I keep seeing this video on the TV at work and it's gotta be one of the greatest videos ever made. The transitions give me life.

Gibbs brothers were worried about giving this song to Diana Ross because they thought she'd find it 'too Motown'. Skip forward to 2023 and I'm so glad they stuck to their guns.

Great song , again written by the Bee Gee's. " We talk about Love." Raspberry Sauce !! Ha ha. Gabriel's answer when i asked him what does a woman taste like , if you know what i mean. When he said " Raspberry Sauce !!" the spirit of creation lit up in laughter. Great stuff again. I met The Angel Gabriel in fulbourn hospital in the mid to late eighties. He was recovering from a LSD tab being put in his drink when he was in the armed forces. ( I think i am right about this.) His name was Andy , i knew with in a hour or so of meeting Andy that he was the Angel Gabriel. This was confirmed when he told the community meeting that he was Gabriel. No one really reacted. Interesting.!! Michael.❤️.

This song always reminds me of starting school. I remember having the tune in my head walking to school in the mornings as it must have been getting a lot of radioplay at that time. Great song and only years later when I found out it was written by The Bee Gees did it make sense why.
