Lyrics:
I got to say it and it's hard for me
You got me crying like I thought I would never be
Love is believing, but you let me down
How can I love you when you ain't around
And I get to the morning and you never call
Love should be everything or not at all
And it don't matter whatever you do
I made a life out of loving you
Only to find any dream that I follow is dying
I'm crying in the rain
I could be searching my world for a love everlasting
Feeling no pain
When will we meet again
Why do you have to be a heartbreaker
Is it a lesson that I never knew
Got to get out of the spell that I'm under
My love for you
Why do you have to be a heartbreaker
When I was being what you want me to be
Suddenly, everything I ever wanted
Has passed me by
This world may end
Not you and I

Dionne Warwick is pure class. Just look at how effortlessly she is able to sing this song. I'll tell you, this song tears me up. She is truly one of a kind. A lady through and through who has regally held herself up for all these years. Never once trashing herself with the usual Hollywood BS. Dionne, I can't wait to meet you in heaven and I would be honored if you would allow me to carry your train.
The synergism of The Bee Gees combined with Dionne Warwick could only be stellar. What a fabulous cover of this song by Dionne Warwick, a true diva! One of the greatest female vocalists. Her voice and Barry Gibbs backup vocals sound awesome together!
Not a single female pop singer in the charts today are able to sing a song with such sincerity and passion as Dionne Warwick.

Congrats to Miss Warwick for finally getting selected to the Rock Music Hall of Fame here in 2024. Just a joke that her along with other 1970s and 80s era PopMusic greats such as Foreigner, Peter Frampton and Cher had to wait years. Meanwhile other artists such as Joan Jett, Missy Elliot and Tribe called Quest who only had a few hits at best gets in first. And I am also a big Rap fan saying this. With that said, Congrats Dionne.

Love the bee gees music. Great writers.perfect for Warwick s voice. She rejected this song initially. Didn't like it. Producers helped her to see its perfect for her. A huge hit for her too. Thank you Ms Warwick

This gem appears to be, at least in part, lip-synched, so maybe a bit less effort required to perform for this video production. At 3:40 she is singing different lyrics from the audio. Still a treasure either way and a splendid composition. Maurice Gibb regretted that they handed it over to her.
She just oozes class, as she displays her X-factor. I get goosebumps listening to this lady, a world-beater for my money.

@@colinmiller5502 in my opinion, The Bee Gees wrote better songs and had better harmonies than The Beatles! I'm a massive fan of The Beatles and their influence on The Bee Gees is apparently obvious but man, The Bee Gees output in the late 60s really brought the art of pop music to another plateu!

@@colinmiller5502 Hey, Colin. What do you think of The Bee Gees recording of Heartbreaker from 2001? Personally, I find it to be rather lacklustre and uninspired. The vocals seems lazy and the production is weak. Same with their recording of Islands In The Stream. Very weird considering their usual heartwarming and passionate harmonies and stellar production techniques. I mean, they're very proud of those two songs, they've said so themselves so I found it unsettling to listen to those versions of the songs. I'm a MASSIVE Bee Gees fan and to me, they're the greatest harmony pop group in history. Have you heard their versions of Heartbreaker and Islands In The Stream? They were exclusively recorded for the the double CD set Their Greatest Hits- The Record released in 2001.
