Had the opportunity to meet her once and she was incredibly gracious. Wonder singer and actress. 🕊️

I saw her many years ago in a luxury store when I was young. She was stop you in your tracks beautiful ! she was very elegantly dressed in beige. Had a gorgeous slim figure. I didnt know who she was at the time but to this day I remember how remarkably beautiful and elegant she was. She was prettier in real life than in photos.

I was blessed as a little boy to have watched her on Julia. She was the first woman of color that I saw on TV that reminded me of my own mother. Beautiful, intelligent, graceful, dignified. Julia was also the first lunch box I had, and still have, displayed in my living room. Some of the kids thought that she was my mother and I didn't correct them. LOL! She had a body of work that showed true talent, comedy, drama, musical gifted, TV, Broadway, Movies, a talent that literally kept her working for decades. I'd like to say a huge thank you to her daughter Suzanne Kay who shared her with the world. I know that wasn't easy to do, so I thank you because she made such a huge impact on the world. She will always be with us.

I met Diahann Carroll in my neighborhood during the making of Claudine in 1973 She spoke to me and my friends as we was walking down Sugar Hill on 145th st and Bradhurst ave in Harlem she was between sets and she said ''How you boys doing" we bashfully said hello back to her, we was shock that we saw her sitting there, very beautiful looking lady, RIP
