I was 10 years old when Julia premiered. At that time, I didn't understand there were differences because of the color of one's skin, but I knew there was something special happening because of that program. As a Latina watching Julia every week, I aspired to become a professional woman like Julia, which I did. Thank you Dihann Carol, RIP.

I got to meet this wonderful icon and she did not disappoint. Grace and sophistication with little to no effort. I will miss her. Gone but never forgotten.

I remember watching Julia when i was a little girl. I loved that show. I also became a Nurse because of that show. She paved the way for so many. I am not the only one who was inspired to be a nurse because of her in that role. She was ine Graceful lady. Rest in Peace Ms. Carroll. Thank you.

Her entry into the Carrington world was one of the most beautiful and sophisticated introductions. And her first head to head with the character of Alexis was and still is E-P-I-C, and it's because of her.

Kerri Washington would be a great actress to play Diahann Carroll on the big screen and the movie can be done at the newly erected Tyler Perry studios!!! 😊❤

I did not know that she was a talented singer.She was truly a classy lady.My heart went down south when I heard that she passed away.She accomplished so much in her fabulous career.Dihann you are gone,but your legacy will live on.Much respect for what you have open for other actresses.RIP DC.

I am so sorry for hearing the passing away of Mrs. Carroll I've been watching her on fJulia her TV series and I did not even realize she had passed away on October 4th she will always be remembered of a great actress she was

Thank you GMA for such a beautiful tribute. By the way Robin and Deborah, I have the lunch box (without the thermos). It was my first lunch box that I had, I was in the first grade! Ms. Carroll and my mother seemed one in the same. Both beautiful, both intelligent, both gracious and full of class. It was refreshing to see her on TV reflecting the type of woman that I had in my own home. She did it all, sang, acted, comedy, drama, Broadway, big screen, TV. Always portraying a strong, intelligent woman who just happened to be African American. A true icon and legend.

I saw Diahann Carroll many years ago at Symphony Hall in Boston. She came on stage wearing an incredible red gown. She really lit up that stage with her beauty and talent. I will never forget it.

I am trying too watch interviews that she has done. Such a Breathtaking, Elegant and Beautiful Woman. I remember seeing her on Dynasty and just mesmerized by her beauty and also how she spoke and her confidence. Growing up in a house full of Women made me appreciate women who looked like my mother, Sisters and Grandmother. Ms. Carroll you will be missed truly ❤️

I had a metal lunch box with her picture on it. I've been looking for one the past several years. She looked like me and I wanted to be a nurse growing up. Alas, I became a teacher but I always count her as being one I identity with becoming who I am because of her. She will be missed.
