Fun anecdote from her autobiography: Ms. Carroll revealed she was actually good girlfriends with Joan Collins for years, and one night they were at a dinner party lamenting how they were essentially bring put out to pasture by Hollywood in their middle age, and wondered what on earth could they do next with so few opportunities. About a year later, Collins booked Dynasty, and after that fateful night at Aaron's party, her friend Diahann joined the cast thereafter. It was a sweet victory for them both to have bounced back at a time when they never would have dreamed getting such iconic roles on a hit series.

The true essence of African American beauty, grace and class. Dominique Deveraux's entrance into Denver is the blueprint towards the mentality all women of color should have. Hold your head high like the Queen you are. Know your self worth and never ever settle for less than you deserve. Diahann Carroll was a true trailblazer. She didn't open the door for other women of color she kicked the door down. She'll be missed dearly yet her legacy will live on forever. Rest in paradise my beloved Queen.

She gave that back to the interviewer didn't she? She didn't eat it up for herself she gave it back..."I am so embarrassed as an American for you to sit there in 1985 and make that statement..." She put that interviewer on blast without...blasting her...for making divisive comments somehow inferring you must be better than, or you're not like your people. See. Notice how the interviewer came back with..."How'd you get so smart?" Yeah, she knew what she was inferring when she asked the question.

No. She was working in concert with the interviewer. Yall have to be IDIOTS to not know that NO star just walks into an interview BLIND, and doesnt know ALL the questions BEFOREHAND.... Ms. Carroll had to APPROVE that question beforehand, and most likely AGREED to it to ADDRESS something she wanted to confront.

It's 2019 and America is STILL embarrassing. Such ridiculousness treating others like they don't matter.

I lived in Los Angeles in the ‘80s, and I saw her in a restaurant (Le Dome for fellow Angelenos) and she was just breathtakingly beautiful, and was very nice to the waiter who was a bit tongue tied in front of her!
