Sharon Stone on second chances

Bold, sensual and talented, Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominee Sharon Stone was one of the most talked-about actresses of the '90s, making a powerful impression in such films as "Total Recall," "Basic Instinct" and "Casino." But a brain hemorrhage in 2001 nearly killed her, and set back her career. Lee Cowan profiles the actress, whose second chance at life includes raising three sons, outspoken activism, and a starring role in a new HBO mini-series, "Mosaic."

But her beauty is something very special as well. She can show up to a gala or awards show in a white cotton blouse and a black skirt or slacks in a sea of $20,000 dresses worn by women half her age and still be the most amazing looking woman there.

Such a beautiful, kind, down to earth, resilient and humble actress. Met her on set on a series in Vancouver. She told me that she had a stroke. Took 1 year to recover and lots of rehab. She encouraged me when I was going through a health crisis while on the shoot. Her story inspired me. Sharon is a great mom and an incredibly focused and talented actress who has an incredible generosity of spirit. She said that I reminded her of one of her best female friends. Great interview!! ❤️

Actually most of the famous actresses of that time should be thankful, not complaining about the "sex for a role in a movie" mantality. If this kind of deals didn't exist back then, noname actresses with no talent, from nowhere wouldn't be able to become worldwide superstars. Hundreds of famous womens complaining today about oversexualization, objectification, bad portraying etc, and in the same time they made all of theirs money, millions, out of selling sex in any possible form...

Sharon didn't milk money out of normal people, if you look at the clips of the auction in Cannes Festival, she milks money from those filthy rich people who attend the Auction shows. It is impossible to compare how much money given to Aids Foundation between Bill Gate with Sharon. A lot of people may not even know Sharon has turned down some movies deals due to the conflicts between her Charity works and movies. She rather chose raising money for different charities throughout the years and no one has ever given her any credit for that. By the way, she not only raises money for Aids, also Shelters for elderly people, Back Pack for school kids etc.

I agree. Besides that, I just hope Martin who directed " Casino " will make another movie with Sharon. She needs to play a high profile iconic character so as to reboot her career. Sharon Stone shouldn't be forgotten. I think we have seen enough " Meryl Streep " who average makes 2 to 3 movies a year.

My thoughts are with you Sharon. I lost my Mum 11 nov 2020 from a massive stroke. Life is so precious. She sent me a sign the morning she passed, a small blue bird in the house no windows were open. She told me to keep being the best Dad possible and go for my dream no matter what. My Son saw her behind me at the kitchen table. I have immense respect for you for recovering over these 20 years Fod bless you and all your family. ❤

@Tee D How on Earth would *you* know? Unless you're that man that was "eaten" by Sharon Stone or that woman he allegedly divorced for her?? Either way, you come off *extremely* *bitter* ... Here you are inserting such vile & negative thoughts about a topic you probably have no proof of & read in National Enquirer! This person has shared about their own traumatic experience with health concerns & what they've personally been through. Show some *respect* and take your hostility & gossip elsewhere. You *clearly* have *no* heart! Also, be careful what you say about others, because we *all* have things in our past we aren't too proud of. I highly doubt *you* are any exception.

It's hard for you to believe but it's common. Pretty people don't see what everyone else sees. Sharon also had a strict upbringing and had abuse in her home. She likely had low self esteem but there was something in her that pushed her out of her comfort zone to where she is now. People also didn't believe Jessica Alba waa sexy until that movie with Paul Walker.
