my non-american ass learning homecoming and prom are two different things through this video
@tdclemensen
Жыл бұрын
Homecoming is in October or November and is associated with the start of high school football season, and the dance is usually open to the whole school. Prom usually takes place in May or June to coincide with graduation and is only open to seniors (and sometimes juniors depending on the school). At least that is my understanding but I didn't really go to those kind of things when I was in high school.

maybe its because i went to such a small school* but prom was never that big deal for us :0 the fanciest prom-posal was a guy getting on his knee with a cupcake instead of a ring. and most people went with friends and just hung out in rented dresses. it was really laid back, which made it more fun imo. its fascinating hearing about fancy, dramatic proms *so small that junior and senior prom were held together so there'd be a decent turn out. and my graduating class was the largest in our school's history, and there were 50 kids

I could be assuming incorrectly but if your friend was in elementary school it's possible she needed to lose all her baby teeth before they would put on braces (no point putting braces on teeth that are gonna fall out). Not that it couldn't still be a rough experience, but I got a baby tooth removed and it is much easier than an adult tooth imo lol.
@vogelvrouw
Жыл бұрын
@@Lisa-rz3fe yeah its so sad, when I got my braces it was mostly because of my overbite and that could affect my breathing and chewing, and when I got the normal braces they didn't make me keep them untill my teeth were perfect, just untill they were good enough.. they even had a saying at their door about how crookednes is human

I could have had the combo had I realized that me always being close to the TV might have been a sign that I had poor vision. Now that I'm in my 20s, braces just look immature.
Those all blue athletic outfits have the same energy as Zac Efron’s eyes in HSM2
We do prom junior year and senior year at my school, and I think the winter prom Andy was talking about might be what my school calls "Winterfest" and others call "Snowcoming." you guys do realize that in some schools, juniors can also go to prom, so what happened was that the mean girl went to prom with the popular dude in junior year, and then its homecoming that matters once the summer is over and theyre back at school for senior year like, my school did not have separate junior and senior proms. it was all one thing. it happens a lot, especially in smaller schools

the further i get into this video the more you keep reiterating that the writers must have forgotten that junior prom is separate from senior prom except that it ISNT always. in some schools they will be the same event, with absolutely no separation. its not NEARLY as rare as y'all are making it out to be
@scripwriter3304
Жыл бұрын
and even if it were rare, then how would that change what they said in the video? they went to prom together. if they know that theyre all juniors, then why would they feel the need to specify that they're going to junior prom? its so clunky and unnecessary. like, sure. the video is bad and horrible and i agree with everything else you've said about it. but like. y'all clearly are entirely ignorant to the fact that not every school has the same setup for prom, and/or are just...ignoring the fact if it IS separate, there's still no reason for a group of juniors to clarify when talking to each other *which* prom theyre going to, because they'd all know anyways based on their current grade level
At my high school, prom was for both Juniors and Seniors, so it still works narratively. The only thing, really haha!

As a Canadian (specifically Albertan) who went to French immersion catholic school, I can guarantee you that frenglish is thing. Since most of us came from English speaking households we tended to mix a lot English in with our French. But also the Chiac dialect of Acadian French(a dialect originating from French colonies in the maritimes.) is probably a more concrete example as a French language that borrows heavily from English vernacular. 🇨🇦⭐️🇫🇷

The fact that the 'message' is exactly opposite of what is conveyed in the plot
they really went "change yourself to fit what other people want"
“Beauty is only skin deep” that had me in tears, because it’s exactly what the video conveyed.
So the takeaway is: to get someone to like the “real” you, change everything about yourself!
my math teacher in high school had that fish quote on the whiteboard all year long
The acting in these is reminiscent of the kids in my 7th grade Theater class who didn't actually choose the elective.
