today we have the misfortune of looking at the comment section with brett cooper, and the left can't meme hosted by benny johnson's videos and content. these two shows are produced by larger republican and conservative organizations, like the daily wire, created by ben shapiro and jeremy boreing (that's really his name). both of these conservative reaction/ meme/ commentary channels are embarrassing and super cringy, and at worst, harmful. reaction channel woohoo keywords reaction commentary cringe cringey reaction benny johnson buzzfeed parler right wing social media app and female ben shapiro brett cooper thanks seo thanks youtube

(AGAIN NOT TRYING TO ARGUE JUST ADDING INFORMATION) and the reason the ratio of drag queens to religious people is so one sided like you say is because there are exponentially more religious people than drag queens. With that being said; grooming is grooming no matter who it comes from and we should not blame an entire group just because that group has a couple bad apples.

10:38 When i was in high school we read Beloved by Toni Morrison. It’s extremely well written and full of nuance that was fantastic in an AP Literature class. It was also the horrifying story of a formerly enslaved woman who was deeply traumatized by her abuse and was continually victimized even after she got her freedom. The higher the level of education you seek, the more you will come across controversial and sometimes shocking topics. If you encounter something that makes you uncomfortable, you have to really think about it to understand why. Otherwise you risk remaining ignorant in the interest of your own comfort and missing a significant part of the issue.

  • @Bottomsupyours

**SPOILER WARNING** Sethe was not victimized after escaping slavery. She was a stoic mother figure who would do anything to prevent her children from having to return to the life from which she escaped, even if that meant "putting them on the other side." She murdered her "already crawling" baby girl, Beloved, who subsequently haunted her. The haunting was a metaphor for how the trauma of slavery haunts individuals and communities. She did sell her body to get the word Beloved engraved on her headstone, which was another maternal sacrifice to demonstrate her unconditional love. In the end, Sethe was rescued by and reintegrated into the community from which she had been shunned (shunned not just for murdering her child, but also for what they believed to be undue pride). The remnants of Beloved remained, despite her story not being one "to pass on." Sincerely, an English Honors teacher

@@Bottomsupyours I can definitely see your argument, but it is largely semantics that depend on your definition of ‘victimization’. You could, for example, say she was a ‘victim’ of ostracism. That isn’t to say it was unwarranted for the community to want nothing to do with her, but that is a big piece of the nuance I mentioned in my original comment, and it isn’t really relevant to my point. I could delete the bit about her being continually victimized and the meaning of my comment would not change. My point was that it is an intentionally uncomfortable read, and that can lead to really interesting discussions and even make people realize things about themselves they might not otherwise have engaged with.

@@natemyrick6373 I don’t really believe it’s possible to ‘go in with no moral or grounds to stand on’. Everyone has their own individual moral code, whether that comes from their religion or their upbringing or just their own strongly held beliefs. My argument is simply that you should consider what makes you uncomfortable about it. Why do you find it immoral? If you examine those beliefs and they remain unchanged (as it should, in the case of nazis and murders), you have still completed the exercise. I’m not under any illusion that I can change your mind on my own, but I’m glad you are willing to be open minded enough to engage with the idea.

I don't know why people are so obsessed with the idea there is no such thing as a passionate, conservative woman. Like, y'all are so pressed or scared or unbelieving of the stupidest things. Y'all talk all this stuff about women and their autonomy, I mean idk your beliefs thoroughly, but what you wrote implies you probably have other liberal beliefs besides that one, and a lot of liberal beliefs nowadays seem to be against older people and supposedly "liberating the youth," but as soon as a young woman has a more traditional view on life, it's her being a puppet who isn't strong enough to have her own views. Like cmon, stop the bull, you don't care about Brett, you just like the idea of her being a puppet for an "older, millennium-run" channel. As someone who grew up in the South, she just seems like a normal, patriotic-raised, maybe feminist/conservative feminist, preppy cheerleader type of girl who would always buy her clothes at like Simply Southern or something; they exist, just because you don't believe that for some weird reason, doesn't mean she isn't speaking her truth. Many books that have overtly sexual themes are being protected by schools because they have LGBT characters, and then the news reports things like conservatives wanna ban gay books about things like a book called this book is gay, when it was literally being used in a curriculum for 10 year olds and showed them how to use grindr. Its a minority of conservatives that have a problem with kids seeing a gay couplw. Most of us just want to keep romantic discussion out of the hands of teachers whether they are gay or straight as we see it as the parent’s job to educate on more intimate matters, not the governments.

As someone who just graduated high school, our literature textbook had a lot of content that was sexual to some extent. That being said, we had to sign a form at the beginning of the semester saying we were ok with reading that kind of stuff and also that if we felt uncomfortable reading something like that, we didn’t have to. I think the most important thing in that situation is that the teacher handles it well. If someone voices that they are uncomfortable, I do think the teacher should allow the student to stop reading it, however in my class that wasn’t the case for anyone and I assume that’s the case for most high schoolers. edit: because of all of the responses i have been getting, i feel the need to clarify that- 1. this class was a concurrent course for college credits so even though it was during high school, we were following the college’s syllabus and coursework. 2. no my school wasn’t a “liberal” school, my high school and area where i grew up was actually very conservative as a whole.

Technically, it's "the left can't do humor" . Because humor will _always_ step on somebody's toes and give the opportunity to get offended _if you CHOOSE to get offended_ . It's the nature of humor. You have to be willing to see the truth and, often, yourself, in the joke and choose to see how ridiculous and funny it is, and then choose to LAUGH at yourself and human nature. In the last ten years or so, leftists have CHOSEN to take offense at _everything_ . They can't see the humor for the offense. They would rather get offended at something that has absolutely nothing to do with them, just to get all riled up and feel RIGHTEOUS about it, instead of just letting go and having a good ol belly laugh over the ridiculously of all of us. It's hard to keep a good mad on when you're laughing. If you're laughing with everyone else, you can't feel superior. Because, with a good joke, people laugh WITH each other, not AT each other. Some people are laughing at themselves, some people are laughing with the person laughing about themselves, because even if the joke doesn't 100% hit home, it's pretty close to what happens with all humanity, and the _next_ joke will catch you square in the gut and give you a good belly laugh about yourself, _if you allow yourself to laugh about it_ . Also, notice the "truth" part. There's a while lot of deceiving going on these days, on both sides of the aisle, but need we bring up "more than two sexes" and other things along those lines? "Men and women aren't any different" (didn't you just say there were more than two sexes? Now you're going back to a binary system?!?) , Etc...

He makes comments that are equally as insane, closed-minded, naive and ignorant as any of the far-left media. There comes a point where it’s too far. Where you’re no longer fighting for what you know to be right, but instead you’re just fighting TO be right. Ben and Brett walk that line pretty tight, but also tend to be able to back it up with logic and stats. Benny simply cannot. When he “debunks” something, his only evidence is that “they’re insane” or something of the sort. He is just simply horrible at what he does… especially when he feels the need to explain memes like your senile great-grandpa reading every billboard he sees on a 14 hour car ride.

The assignment that the mom read at the meeting sounds exactly like the sort of assignment that I had to do in high school when I took acting as an elective. Specifically we'd need to find a of monologue of a particular length/subject matter, memorize it, and then read it back in front of the class. It's possible that the daughter found that monologue online, got it from a book, or even wrote it herself. Either way, if it was for an acting class, she almost certainly chose that particular passage for her assignment.

I’ve tried hard to find that monologue from anything. All I could find was outraged conservative articles. However… one did mention the students picked what they had to memorize. My first thought was “oh her daughter is a lesbian and this is her voice” or she wanted to feel like she’s being challenged by portraying an angry cheating lesbian (at 15 years old, yeah that would feel like a huge controversial ground breaking moment. It’s not. But at 15 it feels that way). Her mom likely went through her bag or saw the monologue on the family computer and the daughter told her kind of the truth. The teacher likely did not review or have a chance to edit it beforehand. It seems to be an entirely new monologue unless google failed to find it using multiple parts of the monologue in short and long versions except for those angry conservative sites that love to not actually look into anything as long as it gets their base good and angry.

As I despise the speech of “ahh gen z, this new generation is shit” just because it is different, because we don’t get some trends. But saying things like this… girl… just WHY?! This generation fight is just non sense to me. It just sounds like adolescent drama of “ohh you don’t get me. You’re such a closed minded”

the thing that annoys me the most about this "my 15 year old daughter having to read this graphic material" argument is that there's a book i was REQUIRED TO READ and majority of high school students were required to read where they not only said the n word MULTIPLE TIMES but they also put a mentally disabled person down old yeller style because he would've been too much of a liability (or some shit like that i don't fuckin remember it's been 6 years) and the parents just say "oh that's just how it was back then" like okay but does that still not seem so fucked up. i ran to my mom and cried after reading it cuz it made me so upset like how is that okay but a person coming out to their partner isn't just because they said the word "dick" a few times? like does that not sound crazy to you????

To be fair they were going to kill him because he killed a woman. It was an accident but the people coming after him were pissed and wouldn’t have listened to reason. His friend killed him because he didn’t want the mob of people to torture his friend. It was a very sad book but not a bad one in my opinion. Though I wasn’t a fan of the slurs either. Late to the party, but this video exemplifies exactly why Gen X is called “the forgotten generation.” Almost every time Gabi uses “older millennial” in a negative way, she’s really talking about Gen X. Millennials (even the older ones) by and large grew up alongside meme culture and understand it pretty well. It’s the people around 40 and up that were resistant for so long and are struggling to connect to younger audiences.

Which is interesting to me since Gen X had such a clear definition. MTV's golden age, hair metal, john hughes movies, the early days of skateboarding culture, all of those were major milestones for Gen X, not Millenials. Its such a distinct group in my mind for it to be forgotten about now. To be fair though, I'm sure some of these conservative reactors she's talking about are actually older millenials (generations span wide year gaps).
