DEWALT 4 1/2 ATOMIC CIRCULAR SAW REVIEW AND THOUGHTS
this week I review a tool I recently got my hands on . I talk about if it is worth the money and how it stacks up against a regular sized circular saw.

I just bought this saw at Home Depot, it didn’t come with the T bar, I bought 2 blades at the same time, a framing blade & a fine finish blade. The blade with the saw was a 24T. I only wanted to cut up some old pickets & my saw saw was getting too heavy. This will come in handy for smaller wood cutting.
Ty 4 making this video possible. I will buy one of these, DeWalt 4 1/2" portable saws based on your video. Thank you.
Thank you! I'm just getting started with tools and DIY with ambitious plans. I didn't know what the T-bar was for and this video was very helpful just to see ways to use it.

I’m glad I could help !
I bought one and love it. We used to keep a 6 and 1/2 in in the tool trailer, the 20 volt one. We took it out. Now we just have the 60 volt worm drive and the four and a half. We call it the turkey saw.

I agree the more I use it the more I prefer it to a bigger saw
I bought this Saw a few years ago when it first came out and Ive used it practically everyday since and it's still going strong , Ive dropped it off ladders and even down a set of stairs and no problems, its an Awesome Saw and I would Highly recommend it , you can't beat it especially for the Price .... 👍🖖

Yah it really is kinda a hidden gem of a tool!
This would be good for cutting siding products especially where long angles are required

Forsure it would be great for that !
I have this saw. I love it. I still have the blade that came with it but there is not a lot of blade options in my country for this sadly

There are a lot of blade options in Amazon, I have a similar blade from a national brand from my country and I have several discs with 24 and 60 teeth plus one to cut tiles, important to me since we build homes with masonry rather than wood over here.
As a cabinet guy I can carry this saw every where now. I keep the old one in the trailer but never use it.

I use this way more than a normal saw aswell
so, this not ideal for cutting 2x4's? Thank you!

I use it to cut the odd 2x4 here and there but there are better saws for cutting framing lumber
Does the depth plate move on your saw? I just bought this saw and my plate seems to move around a little when locked down.

Mine seems to lock in tight you could try tightening the nut that holds that lever in place

It’s not the lever, it’s the attachment that connects the plate to the depth guide. Seems as thought there is only one rivet holding it to the plate. I’m going to look a little closer and make sure there isn’t a weld missing or something,
I put a diablo on it. It's butter smooth.

Yah mine is due for a blade change I’ll have to pick a Diablo up!
Is it good for cutting 2x4?

Yah it can cut 2x4s but that is the max depth it will cut

I’m sure it would if you put the right blade in it . I’m not sure it would be any better than a grinder

I have used a similar one from a different brand, I mean the same blade diameter and power to cut tiles with a disc for ceramics that I bought on Amazon.
Does anyone has use this for melamine? Laminated MDF?
@kinfolk_carpentry

I don’t think I would use this for melamine it would certainly cut it but I think you would get some tear out I would probably use a track saw for that
Not sure where you found it for $139? $229 is what I’m seeing. Please point to the $139. Great price

It’s actually 129 at Home Depot right now that’s the bare tool price so no battery.
Safety come first, you don't have your safety glasses on when you are making a cut.
