Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I have a lot of tall hedges around my property so this Dewalt 18v/20v pole hedge trimmer is a great addition to my ever expanding range of Dewalt tools.
In this video I put the hedge trimmer through it's paces and give a quick review and my thoughts about the tool.
Any questions, don't hesitate to drop them in the comments section and I will try to answer them as best that I can.

Great, video, Thanks for effort and time put into it! I jsut bought this hedgetrimmer and first thing I notice is that the blade is a bit curved.. I was able to straighten it out with the help of my hands and hip. Now that initially does not feel good. It is made of some low density metal I suppose. May or may not be a future problem. Time will tell. But given that it can bend, it has to be handled with care.

I just used mine today, probably 2 hours of use, yes the foam grip I feel is a bit of a last minute thing, they should have added some form of “D” handle about 1m up from the trigger handle, or a 90 degree adjustable handle, I found with the head offset the tool wants to twist and holding the round tube offers no resistance, passing on a lot of strain to both wrists or fore arms as you try to hold the tool

Great video. It was really helpful to decide for my dad. Where did you find the extension pole from? Nice to hear a fellow scouser 👍

Great video just one question can you break the pole down to just a regular trimmer or do you have to use in at full length ? Thanks

Hi thanks for the video. Can I ask does the extension pole work ok for the hedge trimmer as well? Looking at buying both but could not see on Dewalt website. Cheers

That bit with the loose head, is that still a "feature" or was there maybe a screw that needed tightening? I'm a gardener in my second year and use a normal petrol hedgecutter (mitox) which is brilliant but for long reach hedges I'm using a petrol multi tool but it's just too heavy and awkward, plus you have to have arms like Thor on some hedges! Was looking at Stihl alternatives ("alternative" reason mainly being the price), and I've already got 2 DeWalt batteries and a charger so this could be an option but that floppy head doesn't look great especially if you're trying to create a nice smooth finish, any more thoughts on it after using it since this video? Cheers

Despite the wobbly head it's a great bit of kit much easier to use than my petrol one and a lot quieter too. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe 👍🏼

I don’t mind the odd safety trigger especially as other people near by they wouldn’t necessarily know this machine was ‘live’. I remove the battery straight away after use. 👍

Hi, I'm not exactly sure what the plant is but it's a conifer and the other one is a laurel. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe 👍🏼

Pity these pole trimmers don't allow you to shorten the length so that lower branches can be trimmed without needing to stretch out your arms. I have a Spear and Jackson pole trimmer, paid about 60 quid for it and it does the same job as a £300 DeWalt, although the downside is that it's quite heavy when fully extended out. Even the really tall trees are out of reach for it; I have a 40ft conifer and it's almost impossible to get to the top of without needing a ladder or scaffold. It amazes me how so many houses where I live you see their conifers and laurel bushes trimmed so perfectly straight and flat, yet I coudn't even cut mine anywhere near as straight. You tend to see this type of surgical precision trimming on the more posher parts of town where's it's row on row of detached houses with well manicured lawns with not one weed anyway.

Good long blade as well at 55cm. Much better than the G-techs smaller blade

The blades are great being longer. You don't usually get such long blades on battery operated tools. Thanks for watching and please check out my other videos and subscribe to help my channel grow 👍🏼

Living on a busy road cons..... Bit noisy but you get used to it that's it. Pros.... 1) No one parks outside your house causing congestion or blocking your view. 2) Hum drum background noise gives alot more ambient privacy in your back garden. 3) You dont have to talk to your neighbours, people respect boundaries more. 4) Street lights stay on all night. 5) Only affects house price if it hasn't got a great back garden which you clearly have so bollocks to that goats comment. Great video too, I have the same type of hedge but much bigger on the main road so this video has made me decide not to buy the smaller one thanks 👌

Why did you get the step ladder out brv, the whole point of these machines is to not need additional equipment.

  • @spendtimesavemoneydiy

    @spendtimesavemoneydiy

    2 жыл бұрын

I got the stepladder out because the width of the hedge is bigger than the reach of the cutter head so I needed to get to the middle. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe to help me out 👍🏼

I've got both bits of kit. The saw is awesome. The trimmer is OK but can get heavy. 5ah battery is a must. Paid £320 for both on a deal.
