Was on the fence, definitely buying it. This will be my 2nd dewalt tool so looks like I'm committing to the battery system and only buying yellow from here on out. Thanks for the video.

Just FYI from someone who has maintained the grounds on and square block of property: certain (most) oils and lubricants will kill your bushes. There is a specific type of lubricant you can buy that is safe to put on your hedger. Even chain oil for saws will kill your them and they still sell them at pretty much every landscaping store in the country. If that’s all you got though and you don’t mind risking it, make sure you don’t apply it right before you ready to cut and make sure to not put a lot.

Seems to me that some sort of plant-based oil would work well...canola/olive/etc.

How about cooking oil ? Olive , corn , vegetable oil etc ? It’s not wd40 or engine oil

Bought this and did 2 jobs the first day, more than paying for it. Not as powerful as a gas powered though. It does a great job and lasts much longer than the old battery powered Black and Decker Model ( I've had for 10 years). It is a great soild unit. I looked at the Dewalt pole version but kept hearing that it wiggles and has plastic rather than metal securements. I like this tool. 8/10 Rated!

At first, I was thinking... dowels are dried cured wood, while hedge branches are usually green, so it's maybe not an apples-to-apples comparison, but it also occurs to me that natural branches can be non-uniform in diameter and thickness, such that they might be able to fudge a 3/4" measurement based on a measure taken near the cut of an uneven/non-cylindrical branch. Thanks for showing what it can do on grass; I'm looking to manage some unwieldy swaths of field grass.

I have this item and have used it before! Can you help me?? Suddenly the battery that came with the trimmer won't slide into the spot on the trimmer! I know how ridiculous this sounds. I read the manual. Nothing is broken but I no longer know how to get the battery into my trimmer. This is the same battery I have used successfully before...any help out there??

I bought this and it worked for 20 minutes and then stopped. It is dead. I think the battery connection isn’t working. I don’t know what to do. Battery is brand new, it came with the hedger. No idea what to do. So bummed. Home Depot said I can’t return.

String trimmers are sloppy? I’ve used string trimmers for decades and the example of cutting the grass wither hedge trimmer is lame. A string trimmer would have made very short work of this grass. Probably will never cut grass with the hedge trimmer. Nice video on some very soft new foliage, need to see something with dense twisted branches more typical example.

"mini saws" isn't really the right term. They work by shearing, not by sawing. Its more like several dozen loppers or shears.
