Remember that JC and Paul's could be called robots (they aren't humans at all and are alive thanks to nanotechnology). Age doesn't mean anything, they were created to be able to perform tasks right after they were out of the labs. Like the training have proven. Jc was just out of labs for training. And then immediately dispatched on the first mission. This age is a false age. JC is probably 1 years old or even less (probably less, scientist probably didn't took a year to check if JC was operating well and could perform his duty, knowing that Paul worked, the unit JC should work fine too.). That's also probably why page failed, they didn't thought that Paul and JC were so intelligent that they would discover themself the truth behind the grey death.

"Purpose" is something humanity has invented. We are the only known species on this planet that not only can learn and adapt accordingly, but also change the world to their own needs instead. For some reason, we are the only creature than can conciously do that. If we can't see purpose in our existence, where we can see purpose in other things, I would wager a guess and assume humanity is a chaotic thing; a loose domino that causes change, for better and worse. Without Chaos, the universe as we know it would be impossible. So we can be a very good and perhaps even neccesary part of this world.

It's kind of interesting to me how the fear of AI in the late 20th century was about self-awareness. This is very much in line with what Terminator is about as well. Well into the 21st century now, it seems like those fears have dissipated. There's a lot of reason to be fearful of data-mining algorithms but none of it has to do with self-awareness or AI emotion; it's about what the controllers of the AI are capable of using the technology for.

I think it's because the façade of AI (in its current form) actually having anything to do with human intelligence fell inbetween those years as they found more and more actual instrumental purpose throughout society. This however does not mean they never will, but it will first require to finally understand how our self-awareness/emotion works which right now is a greatly expanding field but A LOT is yet unknown.

The best way to describe this game is that you get the isometric experience of Fallout in 3D and you get voice acting. Imagine Fallout but in small concise levels which you get to revisit later to see the consequences of your actions.

Absolutely not. Morpheus isn't a god, he's made by the illuminaty chief. He 's just an IA with the largest data base about humans, in deus ex, everyone is connected with technology, data mining is probably what' s the most important and Morpheus like he said have informations about everyone (USA data base of people's). He isn't an IA who knows future, he just use the data base to know things about people and tell them. His speech about god is simply what the illuminaty told him. There are no links between them except the technology. Jensen help (thanks to his immunity to augmentation) improve the technology. Thanks to that, they could create nanotechnology years later and improve even more science. I think that the idea is that augumented people age faster due to the augmentations taking a toll on the body (neuropozyne consumption side effects, stress on the body etc), also he's biologicaly engineered, might be some cloning involved, so it might explain why JC and Paul "looks" older.

Returning to Morpheus' words after losing my atheism he no longer sounds as scary. Don't get me wrong, he's still chilling to the core, but he sounds far more as the creation of someone misguided and deluded than he does as the teller of terrible truths.

Losing your atheism? So you mean you think you can exclude yourself from this fundemental part of humanity by having faith? The fact that you commented on this saying such a thing and made comparrisons deriving a conclusion to share with the internet proves that you simply haven't. But I think you're closer.

God was a revolutionary invention of thought of the tribal era of humanity. It's baffling that it's still a respected concept today, several millennium later. It destroys individuality.
