I get they're trying to be more patient etc than say matt on AE. But this Is such a waste of time. He doesnt give a crap. I feel like they need to be a little stricter with the guests when they say bullshit.

Eric, personally, I would have thrown the pieces of the book into the fireplace.

The more I listen to these calls, the more I become convinced that some people are simply not intelligent enough to have productive conversations with.

A few months ago I was hospitalized with a terrible infection, kidney stones and an incarcerated hernia. I underwent three surgeries, one of which was done without anesthesia (the doctor used a probe to go up through my urethra, through my bladder and into my ureter to remove the stent he'd put there). That was the *second* most painful experience of my life. I'm not done watching this video, so the *most* painful experience isn't over yet.

...Let me get this straight, Rob: the "pinnacle of God's creation" is a book, and books are a human invention not created by any God... I see... Nurse!

Wow. Never seen Eric get that frustrated before. I do understand that frustration though as Rob is so brainwashed it really isn't funny, it's scary actually. I was the same way before I finally took the blinders off. He will hopefully soon too.

I love how Rob is digging a hole for his religion so other doubters are even more confused and turned down by his reasoning

True. Even if we assume that these "other gods" are only mentioned as examples of "false gods" popular at the time, it's Biblical acknowledgement that humans tend to invent and promote bogus gods ... which is an interesting tactic in a book that's doing exactly that.

The fact that he didn't "know" Spider-Man shows one of two things: 1) He is that out of touch due to his own self-induced ignorance Or 2) He just wanted to be "right." Evidence and Logic be damned.

Kinda reminds me of a coworker I used to have who claimed that none of the holy books of the religions that aren't his are holy. As a non-believer, I find all religions equally absurd, so I give all believers equal footing and respect their personal make-believe. When he said that the Quran was not holy, I went into this argument with him that lasted days, since a Muslim would definitely find the Quran very holy. Holier than a Jew finds his own bible.

A plain background would be less distracting.

There is NOTHING HOLY ABOUT THE BIBLE.

It is a shame that many people spend most of their lives not putting much though into analyzing and criticizing their beliefs and world view
