Ya'know, I can't decide whether or not I feel bad for his mom through all of this. On the one hand, she's either fully supportive/indifferent to his blackmailing, assaults, grooming, etc., etc., and simply doesn't care, OR he gaslights his mother so hard into thinking that people are choosing to bully him for no reason. Or third option I wonder if he abuses his mother also and that's why he's always using her phone to harass other people and hasn't been forced his entire life to get a damned job. Knowing all of this other stuff about him, I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that he's also ruthlessly abusive towards his mother and that she's essentially his slave.

Personally, I think that his mother is just too weak, and I know what that's like, because my own mother is too weak. She probably just wants to do what's best for her child, and thinks that coddling him is the right answer. I imagine she can't bring herself to kick him out of the house, and she obviously cannot do much else than have him evicted. Simply put: she probably means well, and is pained over the fact that he turned out the way he did, and doesn't know what to do with it. Obviously, I don't know the woman, but it sounds very familiar.

@@Zakjuh I guess statistically that is how a lot of single mothers typically end up raising their kids. They feel guilty for their kids not having a father so they give them a lot of free reign to do whatever to "make up for it". But also he probably showed signs of being a Sociopath at a very early age and she probably just mistook it for pain or grief or something. Some kids grow out of being a Sociopath, Desolance didn't. If you know the signs though and you catch that behavior early enough in a kid you can actually get them counseling to teach them how to be functional members of society. The Sociopathic tendencies wont go away with the counseling but it can at least teach the kid how to distinguish right from wrong, realize when things are going to hurt others and how hurting others negatively effects them, since Sociopaths only care about themselves. Sadly the term Psychopath gets mixed up with the term Sociopath quite a lot. Psychopaths still can feel things for others and can legitimately feel bad for hurting others and generally really try their best to fit in with those around them and a lot of functional Psychopaths get pissed off that people lump like Dahmer and other serial killers in with them when really people like Dahmer are Sociopaths not Psychopaths. There's a huge gulf of difference between the two that's too much to list in a YT comment that's already gone on long enough, but if it peaks your interest I'd say google/youtube the differences, it's actually kinda interesting.
