    plastic surgeon's offices should have the same policy as bridal shops. "no foxes in the henhouse," and if she insists then he can only stay as long as he's on his best behavior. i wish doctors were more comfortable with telling controlling husbands to eff off, maybe then i would've gotten the tubal ligation i wanted 8 years ago.

    I got saline ones back in the day when silicone was not available. They started to ripple after fifteen years and I had them replaced with silicone about ten years ago. Mine were perfectly intact when they came out, too, even though I play paintball and do other sports where I’ve taken shots directly on the breasts. My doc was a little surprised, too. I LOVE the silicone ones. They’re in great shape and they feel way more natural than the saline ones. I suppose I’ll need to have them replaced in five or ten years, though, just to be safe.

    I’m so glad to hear you say “A three-minute scrub.” I’m a DVM and was told for years that you must do three three-minute scrubs for effective aseptic technique. They’re still teaching that in surgery rotation at our College of Vet Med and I’m not sure why. I know that newer studies show three scrubs don’t have a statistically significant advantage over one. It’s a little tricky when I have senior vet student externs doing these extra scrubs and I tell them it’s not necessary.

    Three, three minute scrubs?! WOW! I work in shelter med and we do one 4% chlorhex scrub at induction and then 3 of 2% and 4% in surgery, although none of them for any specific length of time. Although, we are a high volume clinic so our protocols are a little different than in private practice.

    I work in aged care and the amount of breast implants that must be 30+ years old is wild. They are soooo heavy and hard, like rocks. One person i saw was getting pressure injury’s on her ribs because they would press against her that heavily. In 50+ years, it wont be so much remove your teeth for dentures before you go into a home, it will be remove your implants before going into an aged home 😅

    The process of wearing your lobes as "Gauged Ears" is called [Stretching] or Stretched Earlobes. 😊 The [Gauge - 10g, 00g or 16mm, etc. ] are the specific mathematical measurment size/distance/circumference of the jewelry inserted into the ear lobe. The Jewelry typically worn inside Stretched Ears are called, [Tunnels - circles with visible holes] and [Plugs - solid, no holes]. Common jewelry materials are often made and worn in Acrylic, Stainless Steel, Wood, Bone, Horn, Stone, and more. (Some are more desirable than others for long term use or should be limited due to material/chemicals). It is highly advisable to do ones homework/research about proper ways to safely stretch your ears if this is a body modification you are interested. It is not a foot race and should be taken at a pace comfortable with your bkdys allowance to avoid complications. All body modification comes with its risks and should be taken seriously. Materials can and often come with general reactions do to stretching being small and constant rips/tears in the skin, thus allowing bacteria and more to contaminate the open sores created. Proper jewelry hygiene and maintenance should always be priority. Always consult with a doctor and a licensed body art practitioner for any questions, perspnal concerns, and assistance with your Stretch Journey. Best of wishes xx

  • @MDaggatt

    @MDaggatt

    Жыл бұрын

    @ptquilts1 It's not painful if you take time to do it. I just wait a few months, and put the larger size in as I would any other earring. Some people do like the feeling of heavier jewelry, but a lot of the jewelry is lighter weight on purpose, like acrylic, silicone, and wood, so you can have the look without dealing with a lot of weight.

    Exactly. Plastic surgery to repair damage is fine. Risking your health because you’re unhappy with how you look is not a good idea. Go see a therapist instead and figure out WHY you can’t be happy as you are. The truth is that plastic surgery almost never changes they way people feel about themselves - hence the need for people to get more and more surgery.

    I have to tell you something, and I really hope you'll take it to heart. I messed up really badly when I was 26. I started using retinol and I didn't wear a sunscreen during the day, or if I did, it was just a little moisturizer with spf 15 in it at the most. I have now spent over $10,000 to try to correct the damage, and my skin is still not good. I'm 32 now. the damage happened within a couple of years, and left my skin looking like swiss cheese. I'm doing everything I can to correct my skin now, but its just not enough. if I had just worn sunscreen, this wouldn't have happened. if you're using a retinol at night, please use a proper sunscreen. I recommend the EltaMD clear sunscreen because it sits nicely and is good for all skin tones. if you like Kbeauty, I recommend the Hera Age Away sunscreen. it has antioxidants in it and it also looks really pretty on the skin.

    I just use some face wash usually. The downside with sunscreen is that it only past for so long before you have to reapply. Most days when I work, I’m there early in the morning so am not outside for more than a couple of minutes. I do use sunscreen when I know I’m going to be outside for a chunk of time, especially in the summer/hot temp weather.

    I use facial scrub at times but it’s very rarely and a pretty gentle one (Nivea’s with raspberry in it and the scrub particles are apparently made out of tiny pieces of rice) but yeah, very rare for me to use scrub. For the most part I use some Nivea face wash (the one for normal skin or dry/sensitive skin depending on season and how my skin feels) or like currently, a soap free face wash from a pharmacy’s own skincare brand here in Sweden. I don’t use SPF normally as I don’t go out much and the sun this far north is only really a concern in summer (which is when I will wear SPF if being outside) my skin just doesn’t get along well with SPF, not even the Nivea Q10 day cream that has SPF in it. My skin prefers Nivea Q10 night cream both night and day if I use any moisturizer, and I only use it as needed. I’m 37 and people still think I’m in my 20’s at times because I don’t yet have wrinkles or even grey hair. To me when it comes to products, less is more. I only use the bare minimum on my skin and only as needed

    I love the look of disgust when the " guy " asks all those self serving questions like when can we do it again ?!?!? I worked in Saudi Arabia for 2 years at a local hospital of theirs. The muslim law there makes it so a woman has NO RIGHT EVER to say no to sex to her husband, The Muslim law gives the man the right to even beat her to death if she refuses! Well, this woman who was about 3 days post partum came in, was very weak, near passing out and the doctor had to see her. Turns out that even though a woman should wait something like 1 month before sex again after giving birth, he didn't care less, and that woman's husband was screwing her starting about 12 hrs after giving birth. She nearly bled to death over this guys second head ripping everything back open and worse. Women have to put up with the worst hell and torture there is !

When I got my nexplanon implant replaced, I couldn't do anything for a week (could with condoms, choose not to due to anxiety) and he tried to pressure me to give him oral for the week. It's such a shitty feeling cuz now I constantly feel pressured into sex and I feel that's all I'm good for to him. It was more about when can we get back to it than, how are you feeling this week and is it healing okay? Not once has he ever asked me about the healing process or how my anxiety was doing when I tried to explain to him that I didn't want to risk pregnancy while the hormones kicked back in, it honestly felt like he was mad at me for making that decision than disregarding my safety for his pleasure. I don't understand how a man can be so selfish with a woman's body.

Started with St.Ives Apricot Scrub and Nivea face crème, the only time I've had blemishes was Adult Acne 😖😖😖, no longer, my complexion is fine again. Now I buy Equate which is Walmarts versions, after I use it I use Clean and Clear Acne 1.5% Salicylic Acid Moisturizer. Then sometimes a Tea Tree Oil and Hyaluronic 1.5% Acid Serum and Facial Moisturizer I purchased from Dollar Tree for $1.25. It's not called gauging. It's called stretching. A proper process of stretching is incredibly gradual and should take months and months and months, potentially years depending on what your end goal is. Going slow avoids causing tearing and thinning and lowers risk of the lobe actually breaking.

    I went to see a Mary Kay lady with my bestie recently, and I wanna know, does it matter how much I pay for skin care? I get Walmart skin care products. She told me I'm prolly buying products that dont work well. She also gave me a super abrasive scrub to rub all over my face that made my face burn for days. I mentioned I had sensitive skin but she didnt really think it was the exfoliator. I however am positive that's what it was.

We had originally thought this meet up was to be a spa type moment until I realized we were applying the products ourselves in her dining room 😂. I immediately knew afterward that this was to get more money. This lady also claimed that beeswax was awful for your skin because it makes your skin stop making their natural oils or something so you need more of their product. Not sure if that's true, would you know? I'm pretty sure its not

    Skip all that crap - the cheapest pure stuff you can get is sometimes the best. Jojoba oil or Shea butter are 2 fantastic moisturising oils that are cheap and effective, plus do not contain any of the added crap that so many others do (ie synthetic perfumes, parabens, drying alcohols, etc). You can often buy both of those from bulk food places, or from online shops. Plus both of those oils can be used not just on your face, but for cracked heels, sunburn, dry skin, dry lips, etc. As for a skin cleanser, natural soaps are often just as good as fancy gel cleansers, I personally use the “100% Pure” brand lavender shower gel as a face cleanser as it’s gentle but still removes the excess oil and makeup etc. I can’t speak much on sunscreen as I don’t go out in the sun enough to need any usually, and when I do I wear long cotton clothing and use a big hat so I don’t get burnt. But the “WotNot” or “Edible Beauty” brands are both ones I have used before when I want to go swimming.

  • @codename495

    @codename495

    No emergency situation would require a surgeon to skip scrub. A medic would put pressure on an arterial bleed, but that is in a trauma, and that won’t call for a plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons come in after the immediate threat to life is addressed, then they address the psychological effects of injury. Cosmesis is incredibly important when recovering from surgery, but in an emergency it’s not the top priority.

    I have stretched earlobes, I've had gauges since 12 y/o and it's a miracle I never blew my ears out 😅😅 I've had friends who have though, and yes they dangle like that. But it's much worse DURING the injury than the dangle afterwards. Moral of the story is don't stretch until you're ready lol. I never looked anything up, I just went by my intuition and what I felt my body was telling me, and it worked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Don't force anything. Big ear lobes are cool but don't be in a rush because it does take a long time, it's worth it to take it slow.

    What I mean by worse during, is it usually slowly tears apart. So imagine string cheese, and imagine peeling a piece off, you see those stringy bits of cheese holding on and peeling, it's like that only with horizontal tension 💀 sometimes it looks like the two sides of the earlobes are attached by a thread of flesh. Gnarly stuff, but then again it's literally ripping flesh so what do you expect.

    1:10 it's not called "gauging" your ears, it's called "stretching"! A gauge is a unit of measurement, that would be like saying "centimetering" your ears.
