It’s called genius. Thank you, Martin.
It's been a few comments since someone mentioned this, so I will do it now: This was the song that Dave sang to indirectly audition for the band. He was singing it at a jam session with another band as a guest, and Vince Clarke (and possibly Martin and Fletch) heard him. The rest is history.
Depeche Mode very rare doing covers, but if they do this, usually comes out a masterpiece.

I saw Depeche Mode tonight in Dallas and the song is even better live in person. It was super emotional, especially hearing all the fans singing together with Dave; truly a beautiful send off from the band especially Dave who loved Bowie dearly. If I’m not mistaken, Dave was asked to join DM back in the day because Vince Clarke overheard him singing this song. What a way to come full circle. Also, this song turns 40 today. Happy Anniversary ‘Heroes’. Thank you David Bowie. RIP Starman
This version is so perfect, the beat, the guitar and Davids voice...so scaled down...so haunting....❤

I guess the mood come from the tragic movie this original soundtrack was made for, movie is called "Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo"? It is worth watching and remember that is was made about the situation 40-50 years ago - but still easy to relate to today (and see how we failed to react to the warning signs).
Excellent cover with a wide range of voice: from baritonal to the highest tone and splendid arrangement too 😮

Dave really loved Bowie and this tribute brings tears to my eyes. Vince Clarke heard Dave singing "Heroes" and that was how he ended up the lead singer of the group, so this has a double meaning and that makes this more powerful. Also, Martin has had that guitar for almost half his life. That means a lot.

Version magnifique, chargée d'émotion. DM a réussi a sublimer ce morceau et c'est un tour de force, un grandiose hommage au Maitre.
Wow, what a voice Dave has. So special, goosebumps 🌹well done 👏🎩
What a beautiful cover. You can hear the passion in Dave's voice. Bowie would be so proud!

I was born in 1970. These guys have been with me all my life. I look back on wonderful music of the 80s. This time was and is incomparable. Rest in peace David Bowie and Andrew John Leonard Fletcher. "Fletch"
Dave's delicious and sexy baritone voice takes this version to incredible heights! Martin's sensual guitar playing brings it all together
Without doubt the best copy of Heroes. Mr Bowie would be proud.

Regardless of who did what, a truly wonderful track interpreted and performed by a brilliant band as DM. I am, as ever, in awe 🙏
Great cover! David Bowie is still alive when I listen to this song... Thank you Depeche Mode! ❤️
Heard many covers of heroes, this one is one of the best. Guitar is chill.
It's crazy to think that David Gahan was only called into what would then be Depeche Mode because Vince heard him singing Heroes, Depeche Mode only exists as we know it because Bowie he saw Tony Visconti kiss his lover in front of the Berlin Wall and that inspired him to compose Heroes.
Mr Bowie would have been proud of it! Love you guys you are the best band in the universe (even if there's life on Mars)
Слушаю и удивляюсь-откуда столько энергии и энтузиазма у этих парней.Чем старше становятся , тем все больше и больше удивительной музыки.
