Department Store Demolition 1, Arlington
www.pedestrians.org
Demolition of the old Kann's Department Store in the Virginia Square section of Arlington, Virginia. Kann's was located there from 1951 to 1975. In recent years the building has been used by George Mason University.
Demolition was delayed when a major hydraulic hose ruptured. The hose was replaced, absorbent was spread, and demolition resumed.
Produced by John Z Wetmore, producer of "Perils For Pedestrians".

The filming is absolutely fantastic. My hat is off to the photographer.
I think this is pretty neat
Seems like a breaker would be much faster on those big vertical columns.
This educational n plus time goes when watching it
Oh crap. Now this place is the Anton Scalia Law School. Should have left well enough alone.
Cool. Looks like those nozzles could use a little more pressure. Lol
Why no wrecking ball???
Это видео уже было
You could pull those brick walls out with a regular bucket easy& then go after the concrete with the Jaw Those brick walls look to be just FILLER WALLS .There non bearing .
Would have good to make condos out of it but that makes too much sense better to have people on the street
Well, guess the air conditioning don't work anymore! Should we call the service technician?
Did this excavator get modified by Rusch? I noticed it can telescope.

I have seen telescoping units before. Here is one taking down the Australian Embassy in Washington: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lY6ts9OHmcSsZM4.html
Looks like the operator has done this work before!!!!. That rebar looks close to ripping those hydraulic lines out.
Still long ways to go
Very slow efficiency

In Germany you pay 1,5 Mio till 8 Mio up to the sitze of the mashine. The Hagedorn Groupe have a 300 t hitachi kmc 1600 with a 60meter Boom, means 180 feet. Look at youtube for the kmc. KMC means Kiesel Multi Carrier, the build cutom from Hitachi.
Real estate is expensive there. If its not being used it needs to go and put something better in its place
Arlington became a dump ,they should go take that demolition gear next & go get rid of the Landmark Mall in Alexandria Virginia, that place is trash even with Amazon using it

Here it is, the Landmark Mall demolition to make room for a billion dollar development: Landmark Mall Demolition, Part 1 kzread.info/dash/bejne/op5lqdqRZrSnlpM.html
I'm halfway through this Demo vid, this has to be one of the worst designed buildings I have ever seen, the top floors are all HVAC equipment, it's built like a parking deck with red brick covering every inch, I guess building materials were way cheaper back whenever this hulk of a building was built. This thing almost would have survived an atomic bomb blast.
operador muito lento. precisa de reciclagem
BOREING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't look like the operator knows what he doing. He's doing alota unnecessary things.

So inefficient. What a waste of time. Go buy a stick of dynamite.
I put the video speed on x2 and the excavator driver was still fkng slow!.
