dont know why the place wasnt gutted before demolition began tbh i would have thought any derelict place would be stripped bare of lighting, pipework, stud walling & false ceiling removed prior to any demolition

I was sorry that I missed that, too. They have been working on that building for over two months now, and I have filmed 10 other demolitions since they started. Which meant I wasn't able to be there every day.

So the hammer does not work, and the jaws don't cut the steel, only crimps it. Looks like you need a tool repair engineer on that site.

I think he was trying to remover the reinforceing in long pieces rather than smaller ones. Easier to handle

I find concrete demolitions quite boring!, nibbling away a little bit at a time, this job needs the wrecking ball!

LOL Ya. He's just teasing the building! Why couldn't he go in, clamp down on the rebar and crap, then yank it out. Must be paid by the hour, not the job! LOL.

too much of a well-populated area to use the wrecking ball. you should have at least 2 miles of property surrounding your structure. it is too dangerous, and will send debris into the office/retail building right next to it. it can seriously hurt people

Believe it or not, buildings have a live span and to refit or repurpose one would be very costly so knocking it down would be easier. Also it depends on what local laws say you're allowed to build there.
