You have to stay true to yourself and stand firm instead of going with the wind or flow, most people forget were they came from or who was there for them when they had nothing. When people start talking in their ear, they start to change to conform and by the time they realize it, their life is in shambles. And stay of social media too.

If you haven't already, check out the Making of Malcolm X here on KZread. Denzel spent a year preparing for the role before they even started filming. He practiced Islam and learned Arabic so he could read the Quran in its original language. Denzel as Malcolm was a textbook case of method acting (and that's probably an understatement). That's what made his performance so powerful. He understood the assignment and nailed it.

I blame education and media for keeping the magic and magnetism of Malcolm X from us. I have watched this movie and read about Malcolm X, his amazing widow, daughters since Covid. We were never taught about him in school. About MLK - yes. Not Malcolm X.

Fantastic movie! A true education. Denzel Washington was brilliant with one of his very best performances. He delivered! Every student should be required to read this book and after discussing the book thoroughly, to watch the movie. I believe this is an ‘Opportunity’ to reach through all the lies and show school aged children this movie along with their peer group. Open their minds while they are still eager to learn. Children are the future and without the truth they are doomed to repeat it all. Teachers use every tool they have available to teach their students. Children will embrace this movie far faster than anyone could possibly try to explain what happened & why it happened. This is a ‘must see movie’! Denzel, as always, portrayed Malcom X with Respect & Honor. May God Bless All Who Worked on This Important Story! Thank you Mr Washington.

The biggest tragedy of Malcolm X is that Denzel never won an Oscar for this role. They had no issues giving the man an Oscar for playing a slave in Glory or a corrupt cop in Training Day. Both fictional characters. But when it came to a historical black figure that changed the face of this country and opened up the hearts and minds of Black people the answer was “No” I’m sure if Brother Malcolm were alive today, he’d certainly have some choice words about that dynamic too.

Should’ve won an Oscar for this performance. In my opinion, this was 10x better Denzel performance than Training Day, but we know he was never going to get an Oscar for this, not in the early 90s 😂
