I cannot shake the feeling that the x6700 isn’t the best value. If you’re going to spend “real money”, buy the Marantz SR8015. If you’re on a budget (ish), buy the X3700 or maybe the x4700 or SR6015. My 2 cents, before viewing the video. If I change my mind after viewing, I’ll provide an update. Thanks for the content creation. I enjoy your stuff!

Why do you think Marantz 8015 is better value than X6700? I really want to understand the differences and neither the measurements i was able to find or the subjective oppinions on different forums helped me very much in this regard. I have 11.1 and I'm looking to upgrade to 13.1 so these are the only two options for me.

@@georgepopescu1327 It's not. Marantz take the same unit, add some little change, which adds slight distortion most of us won't ever hear or know about, but it isn't as good according to the experts.

Correction at 1:50...you absolutely cannot upgrade to "5.2.6" with the 3700. You're limited to 4 height/top channels so it would be 5.2.4 or 7.2.4 max.

My question is how much is there a difference in sound quality. Obviously, DENON has a sound. However, when I went from the 4311CI to the 4520CI, there was an improvement in audio quality for music and movies. Is there a difference in sound quality for the X3700 to X4700 to the X6700?

1:33 correction, it's 105 watts for 2 channels driven, about 85 for all channels driven. The 6700h can do 220(est) all channels driven if you set it to all channel biamp mode. The 3700h only allows L/R biamp.

I ended up buying the Denon X4700H to replace my older Denon THX AVR and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever done.Every time I turn this thing on something different happens.I’ve had home cinemas Many different AVRs and this one is driving me mad.I turn it on and the Apple TV comes on and my 4K BluRay also comes on.Sometimes I get Dolby Atmos some times Other sound formats and sometimes not. It’s an absolute nightmare.I just watched a video of a guy who’s having the same problems.70 comments of people that are experiencing the same switching conflicts. I suggest you live with this Denon for a few weeks and see how you feel.I never had these problems with my older more powerful THX Denon. These recent models are a load of junk.
