I don't care what you're doing, 1 rep maxes over and over again wreak havoc on your joints. At that point it's just a waiting game for injury. What he's basically saying is and my powerlifting pals will like this comparison, if he is always in a strength block he doesn't really peak besides for a match and since he's doing low impact exercises like arm wrestling static holds and short ROM lifts they're much less stressful on the body vs large compound lifts which inevitably will wither away your joints had you stayed in a strength block periodization for as long as he is. Also he's said many times he drinks fish oil like water. So he knows the importance of omega 3's and joint lubrication.

His forearms are definitely bigger than ever, but if you look at when he went against Pushkar, & when he went against Lupkes and Travis in Dubai, his biceps were quite a bit bigger. Had a bit more chest too. Current Devon is more specialized. He was a bit more well rounded back then. Which came in handy and gave him more room for mistakes in a match.

Eastern-european may not always go to failure, but look at how they train, using powerlifting or regular gym lifts, to strenghten their entire body. I think youth plays a part in this process. The older one gets the more you move to this style of training. If your young you just rip as hard as you can.

@@voldy2189 it’s was such a pathetic answer that the only way of using it would be to assume the other person doesn’t know anything and is a complete idiot. The point doesn’t work, nobody can calculate roughly 20% on top of a training weight without ever touching 100/95%.

Lets just be honest here devon was ducking europeans for a long time and then denise happened to beat him with ease and recently we saw what levan did to "the best version of devon" i know he beat prudnyk but still that doesn't change the fact that he was after north americans for most part of his career good to see he is participating in east vs east and devon vs ermes needs to happen asap.
