😍 Sir Rick! 💐 you bless me with another comment and time watching a video! I am touched, thank you 🫶🏼 very very pleased to have this orchid do so well! Considering how long it took me to actually get her, the fact she was on sale made it a little easier IF things were to go wrong! Well, en contraire! Things are going exceptionally well and I could not be happier. Considering the distress with circumstances, this orchid must be celebrated 🥳👍🏼 that moss... it came all by itself and I make it a point to NOT loose it. It would appear that, as I focus on keeping the moss happy, the orchid is happy as well and yes, I am lucky to have nature working in harmony with the root system. Its as if the roots knew.... I need a cooling pillow, and behold.... moss!! 🥰 love it! 🫶🏼❤️🌸

FANTASTIC intro for this video!!! This orchid is truly beautiful. So glad to see that it has been able to thrive and provide such beautiful flowers for you. Your very scientific observations about growing this orchid should be extremely helpful for all orchid growers. I've heard this orchid mentioned by so many KZreadrs that I must conclude that it is a "desired" orchid in collections everywhere. Perhaps this is due to the flower color. I wonder if the Dendrobium ceraula might like the same growing conditions. I have a very small one which seems to take an eternity to make any progress in its growth. Hope all is well there in Spain for you. May you stay safe and well. Enjoy your weekend.

😍Hi Pat💐 thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback on the intro to this video! I appreciate your take and well, I am glad that you enjoyed it because, I enjoyed doing the editing... it gave me lots of time with all these blooms in LARGE, on my screen 😅 I hope that you are right, about this video being able to help out other growers! Apart from gawking at the blooms, hopefully there is some form of help for anyone that chooses to watch the video 🤞🏼 the ceraula has the same growing conditions, yes. And yes, she is slow to come out of any funk. I have one! She has already been on the patio for 6 years as well, but as I had sawn her off a mount that she was on (with the aphyllum) a year ago, she has not bounced back to her usual 'old' self. She has a lot of new little branching growths which is very positive, but I can tell that, as the temperatures are warming up, she is struggling and I need to really be on top of hydrating her limited root system, as 70% was left behind on the previous mount. But, she is a resilient orchid, so if you go by what you heard here, and saw the fertilizing amounts etc. I would definitely reduce them to a quarter, if your's is still small. If you have any other questions or concerns about your ceraula, please let me know. It is a cloudy but busy day on the patio today because, when I have high humidity conditions, like today, I am fertilizing more and more often on the patio because I don't have to worry about anything evaporating too soon. So, the RO system is busy, while I am with the sprayer 😅 love the conditions though! Better this than the alternative 😊 thank you so much for watching, Pat! Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding the editing, I truly appreciate the feedback 🫶🏼🙏🏼 one day, these kinds of videos will be for 🌸🥷🏼s only, but unfortunately we are not there yet 🥲 Another thing that makes me really happy is, to read that your's is recovering and growing nicely! Thank you for answering my question! Not only do I think I could grow this orchid and that my environment seems very suitable for it, but I also adore that she does not have a rest period. Dendrobiums have often appealed to me visually but not as often am I likely to really pursue one due to all the factors I’m just not too familiar with. However… none have looked as beautiful as this one does, to me. I’m sad to hear this one is not fragrant but honestly… it doesn’t even matter!. The other reason I think I have not pursued dendrobiums in the past as a serious possible pretty to add to my collection, is due to the fact that I’ve never really seen many examples of anyone doing so indoors, or under lights and also… well honestly I just don’t think I’ve seen one presented so lovely! The mount is perfect, the moss is perfect and it’s right up my alley in how I would mount it, with live moss… Thank you very much for the answer in this video because I had again forgotten about the jaw dropping beauty of your orchid. I love how taste and preference always is changing in my orchid passion… it’s like no matter what I think I like or don’t yet know, it is subject to change and a new orchid will surely be the one to change it in a split second, and leave me with my jaw dropped and doing a 180 on whatever direction I was previously headed. Orchids never cease to impress me. They never fail to improve my mood. Above all, they remind me that I need only open my eyes and take a look at the life around me, to be reminded of the magical world in which we are blessed to be in. Life is difficult… But it can be a beautiful place to behold. ~thanks for another lovely and informative video! -L

😍Laura, hi! 💐 I am so glad that I could clear up the tolerance margins of this orchid and that she is a good candidate for your conditions after all!! Like I said in this video, if she can do this in my conditions, without anything to counteract the stressful times except myself and the mister, the potential for this orchid with conditions that match mine, but with higher humidity....the green light for growing this orchid is bright! 😃oh! Yes! I hear you! My preferences for orchids I want to have in the collection have also evolved from back when I started this collection. I know this is going to sound weird, but, to have orchids struggling because my conditions have changed and I am so limited with what I can achieve / help survive during the winter, makes me relieved when I have exhausted all my efforts at rescuing or saving orchids and they finally leave the patio. After the first winter of no heat and light support, I lost so many, I was beside myself ...maybe I have hardened off to the loss of orchids in the past 3 years, but yes... if I ever purchase orchids again, I know where my preferences lie now and with that, orchid growing is a blast! (minus the pests 😆) I so appreciate your time, your question, your support, comment... all the things, Laura! Thank you so much!! I hope you have yourself a beautiful day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

This orchid is so pretty and it I just knew and confirmed that this is ENDEMIC HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES! And here I am, someone from the Philippines who doesn't have one 😭🤣 dang it! Will surely look for this sometime soon! 🎉 awesome blooms!! Hope you're doing well! As for me, yep, I've got lots of new unboxing videos up now and yet to edit some other unboxing/unbagging orchids! @@NinjaOrchids Yes! I really enjoyed it! 🥳💚 That made me wonder, what video editing tool/application do you use, Nina? Might give it a looksie cause that was awesome!!! As for the Victoria Reginae, will surely keep an eye for it soon here! It may be endemic here but it's quite uncommon in the orchid farms here hehe. And yeah, that's everyday for us! I'm constantly going around the gardens here and checking up on my orchids! I just did a spray/watering of my new orchids with the Hormex solution earlier in the day, and tomorrow morning, I'll be spraying my older orchids with balanced fertilizer! Also i'm saving up a bit so I can buy UV treated Greenhouse Plastic Sheet as a roofing material for my new and soon to be orchid haven here! And it's not actually for the sun, but actually for the rain! Rainy season is finally kicking it's way here, and I can't even fertilize regularly at times since it's been raining all week and I don't want to further wet the media and let them stay moist for too long! 🤣 And in regards with Sir Tom, he's a bit busy now I think? since he hasn't uploaded in quite a bit, and he hasn't been able to reply to some of my messages. But he did however updated me a week ago I think, to check the B. Nodosa Wild-type that he gave me because the ones in his garden are blooming! 🙌🏻💚 well for mine it'll probably be in the next fee months till I might see potential blooms! But I'm happy that they're doing really great now! 💚

I use the iMovie editing software that comes installed in the Mac that I bought back when I tried to upload videos on my very very old MacBook Air. VERY old MacBook Air. When the clips came on to that computer, the whole thing looked at me and asked me, ARE YOU SERIOUS??? It could not handle the data... terrible time dealing with my first videos. I hated to have to spend the money for this one I am using now, but, if I wanted to be serious about delivering quality, working on a big screen was a must and I needed something that could handle the data. So, I am not paying for any editing software. I am ok with iMovie and what features it provides for what I need to do. Which I hope is good enough for those watching the videos. 🤞🏼 Maybe in a few years, when I am not scraping to buy groceries, then I will invest in another upgrade (for more RAM), but, my MacBook Air is still useable for many things and it is a 2010. 🫣 it won't take any new OS above High Sierra now though, so, it is only a matter of time when that old faithful is a thing of the past. 🥲

Hi Kyle 😍💐 I love this phase of the VR! Insane 😆🫣🥳 the unicum is also something else this year, so I am hoping that one year I will see it grow more than one growth. When it comes to fragrance, you could be right in saying that it may be because it is a younger plant, however, maybe you can see if she has a fragrance when she is in a warm surrounding? With a little direct sun on the blooms? Just to test and see if she produces a fragrance? It is possible that it can be temperature related. I would love to know if that triggers a fragrance, Kyle, because I cannot say based on the fact that I have mine in a warm climate during her blooming phase. Also, when you have her in higher temps with sun, check morning, noon, early afternoon and night. Some orchids have a fragrance throw that is dependant on time of day. Usually, the warmest time of day, so, if you don't sense anything in the am, keeping checking sporadically and see if you can tell. If none of this works, then we can revisit this next time she blooms? Either way, I would SO appreciate the feedback so that I may learn another little detail about this orchid based on temperatures and fragrance relation 🫶🏼 thank you ever so much for watching! Truly appreciate your support and time. Hope you are having a great Sunday ❤️🌸

I don't know if you remember, but in another video of this lovely orchid I said that I'd just gotten one that had stems the size of toothpicks - but it was growing well and had put up an inch of growth. Well that growth started to bend, and I thought it was just looking for more light. I also noticed that the STEM was that "wrinkly" you spoke about with regards to the leaves. It has now fallen off! But what is weird is that it seems like another stem is coming out of the same place - like this newer growth pushed out the older growth. As I said, weird.

Emilio 😍 hi! 💐 it is normal to have some wrinkly leaves when any orchid is new, because we do not know if the roots are viable, or what they are doing. If humidity is low until the orchid acclimates, wrinkly leaves can be a result of those variables. However, my wrinkly leaves were me dropping the ball when that growing point was active, the orchid was established, I just didn't water enough. I am so glad that your VR is doing what it is doing. That is a great sign that she is a strong orchid and will do well. Having a fight back like that is excellent excellent news!! 👍🏼 thank you so much for watching this video, Emilio! And thank you for the update on your VR! Wishing you a fabYOULous day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

remember when you were going to peel VR off her mount and attach her to the new one and I advised against it? She's trying to tell you thank you for not doing that.😉 But seriously,, it makes me sad that I can't grow it, After losing three I'm just not willing to murder another one of a somewhat rare species.

Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! Yes, I do remember and I would not have had the heard to peel the orchid off of the old mount because of that natural moss pillow. I would not want to risk loosing that, starting all over again in the hopes not to loose the orchid at the same time, so, while it all looks a little awkward to begin with and others have criticised my leaving the inorganic structures on other mounts because it looks unsightly, the health of the roots is more important! I am so glad that this worked out. However, what I am pleasantly surprised by is, that the moss is moving toward the new mount as well.... you mentioned that it will and I had my doubts because of the distance between the old and new mount, but, at the top, it is happening! I will never be able to remove the wire with this one, unfortunately, but as the saying goes, what looks a little off at the beginning, we get used to it after a while and now I don't really see the wire anymore. I cannot express the relief I have that this orchid is coping so well. It is nice to have some orchids that are doing well, while loosing many because of the circumstances. I shall celebrate the ones that I can have 🥳 thank you so much for watching, Michael! Appreciate your time and support! Have a wonderful Friday, my friend 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Hi Mary 😍💐 isn't this just amazing?! 🥲🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥳😃 thank you so much for taking a moment out of your day to come and see what this VR is currently doing! I appreciate your time and support 🫶🏼 I only changed the moss on this orchid once. In June 2020, 6 months after I mounted her (2019). Then, the natural moss you see on the mount started to grow and I have been keeping that alive since then. Now, I do not touch the roots at all. I watch the moss, the health of it now, to make sure that it stays alive because if I can achieve that, then the orchid gets the right amount of water that she needs. The challenge is to keep the moss happy during the months of July-September. One year it went brown, but thankfully, when temperatures dropped again, it revived itself. 😃 wishing you a beautiful day, lovely lady! Thank you so much for being here 🫶🏼❤️🌸

😲😲😲 Wowzers!! What a stunning show, congratulations! 😍🥰🫠 Especially vicky number 3. The show actually brought tears of appreciation. It happens. 🥲😉😁 Fabulous intro. I am still uncertain whether I will have cool enough temperatures for a victoria-reginae. My temps are moderate year round in the basement grow space, but I'd still like to give it a try. Still waiting for a division from a very specific plant that also has very dark blooms. A grower friend has it. Thanks so much for this special treat. Have a beautiful day Nina. 🙏🫶😘🤗❤️

Hi Robi 😍💐 isn't she just amazing? 🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥳💜 I am having a 'tough' time not standing in the blooming alley and just spending a lot of time looking at the show. This is insane and blows all my expectations out of the water! There are still more buds on the way ... but, this is the main show and I am so glad that I could capture it, and thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼 for your kind feedback 🫶🏼 Moderate is fine. Look at the tolerance that I show, based on what they say on paper! If you have what they say on paper, then cool is not an issue with this orchid at all. I was hoping that this video would put people's mind at rest 🤞🏼 it is well worth waiting for your grower friend's to be big enough for you to get a division. The deep colored blooms are mind blowing! Wishing you a fabYOUlous weekend, Robi! I hope you know that I really appreciate your support 🫶🏼❤️🌸

🥰 yes, the dendrobium unicum smells like a tangerine body mist. Its amazing and the blooms last 5 weeks easily (longer in some cases when the wind isn't dry and warm) A wonderful asset and a tough cookie, despite being a species! 💪🏼

Okay…. so I know, that you know, this is not my favourite orchid. That said, this is a beautiful specimen that would be the envy of everyone. What moss are you using here? I’m not familiar with it.

🌸🥷🏼 Sharon San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 Top of the morning, to you, you amazing human being 🥰 I hope that your Friday is already going well, Bunns and Storm having a field trip, having fun, doing all the things and hopefully within reason 🫶🏼 I appreciate you watching the video, even though the orchid as such, doesn't speak to you! 😘 I had a quick exchange with Fernanda once, and I asked her what is it about the VR that is so alluring that so many people want to grow this orchid. I compared her to the Dendrobium unicum, which is much more intricate with the blooms, and it comes with a fragrance that is beyond amazing, so... yes, I have asked myself the same question. What is it? Well, I wonder if she heard me and thought: Hold my beer! Here's why! 😂 I have been schooled by a VR!! Nice to be shown the ropes when it comes to this result, as opposed to have limitations exposed when orchids leave the patio 😬 wishing you a fabYOUlous day, lovely 🌸🥷🏼Amiga San! 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Obrigada 😊 Beijinhos 😗

Hi Fernanda! 😍💐 It's good to see you! My name is Nina.... very close to Ninja 😅🥷🏼 are your nobles growing new roots? Then yes, repot! I am not sure when you say you want to grow them in a vase. Maybe that is the translation failing me again. Do you mean pot? And, I would add fertilizer right now as they are in active growth. What kind of substrate do you normally use for your orchids? When potting up noble orchids, know that they love a lot of water during this time of year, when they are growing new growths and roots. They should not dry out! So, make sure that the substrate you use is not going to dry out quickly, if you do not have the time to water every day. Hope this was helpful, Fernanda, and I hope you are having a beautiful day. Thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼❤️🌸
