Go Behind-the-Scenes at SMITHSONIAN GARDENS' Epic ORCHID GREENHOUSES - Ep. 378
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
When hearing the name "Smithsonian"-we don't always associate it with an epic orchid collection, but as we see in this behind-the-scenes tour, the Smithsonian Gardens' Orchid Collection-specializing in species from the Americas-particularly those of conservation merit-is a jaw-dropping experience. With a focus on cleanliness in culture, these greenhouses give us a Masterclass in taking care and organizing a dizzying array of orchid species and cultivars.

It’s special seeing two passionate people talking about things they love 💚
Beautiful orquids. The color wow.
Really enjoyed this episode. Insightful and joyful! Thank you.
Hey Rick! Wow all your orchids are looking awesome! 👏🏻 I’m so happy to hear you say that it’s ok to water and spray in the evening. Sometimes you hear all these “rules” that make you nervous. I’m learning that sometimes you need break rules and experiment and you’ll see that your orchids are strong! Also I love growing in lava rock here in S. Florida. Can’t wait to hear more from you and Jan! 😊
Wonderful look at the collection, Summer & Sander. Thanks to Justin, Caroline, and crew for taking such excellent care of this treasure. For my orchidkeeping and orchid obsessed self, this is your best video to date.
The way my eyes look in every direction while listening carefully to what they're talking about. Damn, I just love orchids!
So excited to see this orchid episode!! More orchids, please!!! :)
Hello, Summer Rayne, I can not thank you enough for yet another wonderful orchid tour video. Orchids are my absolute favorite genus, and it's wonderful to see that I have some of the same Orchids that the Smithsonian has. 😊. Thank you again. ❤❤❤
Beautiful 😊
So cool. I have enjoyed your behinds the scenes at many botanical gardens. Keep up the good work.
Goodness you go to the best greenhouses! I so enjoy the banter! Lol..not so awkward! Thanks for inviting us along
yet another fantastic video!
A wonderful tour. As an orchid lover, thank you for this.
💖💖💖💖
the enthusiasm was so infectious..... I am committed to try my hand
Thank you to all involved for this WONDERFUL video. Such infectious enthusiasm for the orchids. Fascinating and inspiring. That Bulbophyllum fletcherianum! Magnificent.
Dear Summer, thanks very much for making these orchid house videos! I really enjoy your orchid videos, though you say you're not an orchid guru but you know enough to keep the conversation going well! I'm so excited for the South American, Costa Ricka orchid videos to come. Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😊
Impressive, thanks for this beautiful episode!
Such a FASCINATING episode! I am knee-deep in orchid collecting. A small collection: fueled by a local orchid shop in NorCal. I love all the orchid episodes the channel produced these past couple of months! Thanks Summer and Company
Love Orchids, Love this tour!
Wow, a fabulous tour!! Thanks for sharing.
lucky duck! that is my absolute dream job & my what a beautiful garden, predicated upon the air & conservation in life's most beautifully tangible & expressive way of all.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ me from Indonesia
Great video
This was another great episode! Very, very interesting. Since I don't have a greenhouse, I will take my sweet time to figure out what would find my living room an acceptable living environment, before just buying something.. Ideally, I would like to see my 2 Platycerium thrive first, with nice green shield fronts :)
Wonderful! Do share the name of the fertilizer in the white bagbon horticulture cart..😊
At 23:40 the horticulturalist pulls out the plant label that is embossed or debossed metal. How was that metal label made? What is the name of the machine used?
How do they tackle ants issue?
I love orchids but they hate me. 🙁💐💚🙃
thats such a nice orchid collection! But its very hard to watch the entire one hour video because the guy is soooo annoying and over expressing every sentence, ugh...
